Updated to reflect real-world practice, Schroeder/Ehrlich/Schroeder Smith/Ehrlich's MEDICAL TERMINOLOGY FOR HEALTH PROFESSIONS, 9E focuses on the current, relevant terms students need to know to succeed in health care. The program simplifies the process of memorizing complex medical terms by focusing on the importance of word parts -- common prefixes, suffixes and root words -- that provide the basis for most medical terms. In each chapter, learners practice the pronunciation and understanding of key terms through interactive activities, real-life medical scenarios and critical thinking exercises. The latest edition of this market leader includes expanded coverage of gender identity and gender reassignment, COVID-19, durable medical equipment, dental procedures, diabetic pathology, and more. This book deserves negative stars because it contains not just countless typos, but an astonishing amount of false information. I am an MD shifting careers and this was required reading for a certification course. I only finished it so that I could have a more complete record of all the errors to present to the publisher.
I'm amazed I forgot to mark this one as read! But I loved using it. It wasn't an exciting adventure story, but I definitely did stay up late reading it! And it got me an A+ in the course so I'm happy :) If anyone remembers the date of the last day of the first semester, then I can put that as the date I finished it. . .
I read this as a requirement for a certification I did. Just a excellent textbook that made me happy to learn about the body. I also recommend the workbook and it came with a cd that had additional information.
This book is laid out perfectly. I had to squeeze these chapters into a 5 week class, and there's no way I could've gotten it done if this book wasn't so organized. I really liked it!
