A twisted hockey book that has a mafia touch, morally grey age gap boyfriend and two bi hockey players in love with a beautiful young woman. The thing those guys did was a BIG no no in my book but the author made it work. It was a very entertaining story.

Decent read. Nothing particularly spectacular.. imo. Honestly the guys were questionable AT BEST.
But.. what really ruined this for me was the fmc's best friend. She is so incredibly selfish and self-centered. I 10000% agree with Toby that Marley deserved better in her friendship.. Obviously this friend is going to continue being in her life considering Marley is in a secret relationship with Oliver.. her friends Dad. But also the first book (which I didn't read) is apparently about the best friend...? A good way to make me not want to read more books in an interconnected series is to make them unbearable in the others...
"Can we not talk about my father like that? Yuck. There's no way he'd be interested in Marley or anyone else our age. No offence" said by the infamous Cat. ... I get what she was saying but god.. that is such an incredibly rude and hurtful way to say that.
"Cat and I used to skate together until she decided to take it seriously. I didn't want to get in her way, you know?" ... Even if Cat didn't say Marley should stop she obviously isn't a good friend if Marley felt that way and obviously Cat didn't encourage Marley to continue so...
""What has she done to look out for you?" ... "She--" I stopped to think. "She's always there for me when I need to talk." I couldn't remember the last time we sat down and had a meaningful conversation. At least, not one that involved any other topic than her boyfriends." ... First of all... being there when your friend needs you is the bare minimum. Second of all.. it doesn't sound like she was even doing that.
**Spoiler ahead**
"You work with him. Neither of you had any business touching each other. I trusted both of you to respect my feeling on this. But you didn't. Instead you're here, throwing it in my face." This whole scene made me want to scream. I get that Cat was upset. But clearly Marley was upset at finding out life-altering news and yet Cat makes it all about her and thinks Marley is trying to throw her relationship with Oliver in Cat's face by coming to her a mess??? Yeah okay.
And finally..
"I'd like to wish you the best with your baby, but I can't. You made the bed a long time ago, you can lie in it." Wow.
And everyone just lets her treat the fmc like that... Marley too but it's obvious that her friend has been abusing her since they were kids so...

When Cat insists that Marley goes on a date with the new ghouls goalie, Toby, Marley finds that she is just as drawn to him as she is Oliver. She wants to be with Oliver, but is afraid that he is ashamed of her. Would Toby be the better choice for her? Toby wants Marley from the moment he sees her, but he wants Cole too. Can they find a way to make it work for everyone? Cole has been attracted to Marley since they were in high school, but she doesn't even seem to remember him. When Toby comes to him about their mutual attraction to Marley and each other maybe they can all find their way together.
The men all decide to share Marley if it means they can have her, but to do that they come up with a plan that may drive her from them forever. Will Marley ever be able to forgive them?
I enjoyed getting to read Marley's story. I loved getting to see Toby and Cole with her and each other. I did not like Oliver as much as I was hoping too, but over all enjoyed this book. Wow! I absolutely loved this book. Amazing characters and wonderful plot. Very beautifully written and easy to read.

They go on a date and get along very well. Then there’s Cole, she had a crush on him forever and vice versa. Toby likes him too and it’s reciprocated. They all start a relationship. I loved the chemistry and passion between each of them. They were all made for each other.
Overall I loved this book very much, if you’re looking for a MMFM, hockey romance then you’re going to love it.

Pucking Forbidden Hearts by Maggie Alabaster

Alright, let’s get started. I was aware that there would be a pregnancy storyline, and usually I'm not a fan of those in standalone books. However, the bonus epilogue managed to redeem it for me.
Throughout the first book, there is a lot of tension between Oliver, Cat's dad, and her best friend Marley, who also works as his office admin. Cat was determined to introduce Marley to her boyfriend's teammate, Toby. Toby knew that he wanted Marley, and he was determined to have her, regardless of the circumstances. While keeping their relationship a secret from Cat for a year, Marley decides to date other people, which leads her to have two more boyfriends in addition to her secret one. Cole, whom they both had a crush on in high school without the other knowing, is a sweet guy healing from his childhood trauma caused by his father.
The three guys were determined to make Marley's desires come true. I appreciated that Toby and Cole made an effort to make it up to Marley after she rightfully got angry at them for taking away her choice. I wish that Oliver had done something more to earn her forgiveness. *I’ve thought about this for too long now, I cannot handle Oliver thinking he was right for his actions, big ick.
I like that Maggie is setting up Oliver to be some sort of bada** vigilante in the end. I'm still looking forward to reading more books by Maggie in the future.

This is the second book in this incredible series, and this is Marley’s story.
Marley is in a forbidden relationships with her best friend’s dad, Oliver, and he wants to wait before telling Cat about them. Cat then introduces Marley to Toby, and they his it off straight away, add into the mix Cole, whom she has had a crush on since high school, who will she choose?
This is a well written reverse harem story, with family, friendships, secrets, forbidden, emotions, angst, an age gap, passion, making choices, twists and turns, romance, and love, which leads to an entertaining, MMFM dark hockey romance.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

Holy smokes! Where do I start this review off?
Let’s start with Marley - I am so glad that we got a story about her! I liked her a lot more than Cat. Marley is strong and even stronger than she knows or gives herself credit for!
Next we have Toby — what can I say about him?! Rough and tumble teddy bear who is amazing?!
I love that Cole was brought in from book one - even though he was only mentioned in general passing in book one, it made the connections great.
I’m still not sure how to feel about Oliver. So… I think I’ll just gloss over him. Haha!
All in all, I loved this book. It had me on edge and totally hooked!

This book is fast paced and addicting with plenty of drama and steam. Though I did enjoy this book, I didn't love this one as much as the first one. Marley was great, I loved her strength. Toby and Cole were both amazing. I loved their relationship as well as their relationship with Marley. And then there's Oliver. I didn't like him as much as I thought I would. In the beginning he was great, but I didn't like the way that he thought it was ok to control Marley's decisions. I wish she would have made him grovel before forgiving him. Other than that, it was a great story and I can't wait to see who Eden ends up with.

I love the guys from Opal Spring Ghouls, even if their egos are the size of an ice hockey rink.
Marley, Cat's (from Book 1) best friend, is hiding a relationship with Cat's father, Oliver, when Cat sets up Marley with the Ghouls new goalie, Toby....and from there she ends up with 3 boyfriends.
They decide that they know what she wants and give it to her, breaking her trust along the way.
I do wish Oliver had to do more groveling since he was the mastermind. The other two both pulled out some awesome grand gestures.
Looking forward to Book 3 featuring Eden, the third in the friend trio.

I couldn't put this down! Read it in one sitting!
Best Friend's dad & hockey players- while this is the second book in the series it can be read on its own.
I loved that the FMC was initially upset about the BC tampering and that she made the guys grovel afterwards. Just the right amount of drama before these four found their happy ending together!

Terrific
I am slowly working my way through Maggie Alabaster's books, and I love them all. This is just another amazing example of the creative genius that this author is. Plus, I think she is in my top 5 ultimate favourite authors!
