Cold Case Mountain Murder was an exciting book from beginning to end. And what an ending. I was totally surprised. I also liked that its main characters were an older couple instead of the usual younger ones.

Great story

This book was such a good story. It was so sad to have to wait for answers some people never get. It held a lot of suspense and kept me turning the pages.

Sorry, but i could not connect to Jenna. The way she thought and the decisions she made were very strange in my opinion. I've never had, and hope I never do, to deal with the loss of a child and maybe that's why she is this way. She just didn't resonate with me.

I needed a “palate cleanser” book after reading a pretty heavy on the heart book, and this did the trick. If you’re a fan of typical hallmark movies that are about mystery/romance (albeit pretty predictable) then you will probably like it. It was a quick read

I love the suspense and action that started from the beginning and never let up. Single Mom Jenna Hartley refuses to believe her daughter committed suicide as deemed by the police and started an investigation cold case podcast to not only find answers about her daughter’s death but also for other families who had unanswered questions. But when someone thinks she is getting to close to the answers ,the attacks start . Her neighbor Sean has made it clear, he doesn’t like her doing the podcasts, and now that her life is in danger, he firmly believes that it is because of the podcasts, but possibly, he underestimated her and wonders if she is close to solving the case. Letting go, second chances, and believing in the Good Lord! This book was so entertaining and will keep you guessing! I loved it and I love LIS

Grabs You From the Start

This fantastic story of suspense, love, healing, and faith grabs you from the start. I was immediately drawn into Jenna's story of all she'd been through. She has experienced an insurmountable amount of grief and so many unanswered questions. Sean has also had his grief to deal with, and as a result, he understands some of what Jenna is going through. As they work together to find answers, their relationship shifts, but unanswered questions and unexpected events keep everything at bay. Getting to the answers had me turning pages to see how it would all turn out. All I can say is that I was not disappointed in the least.

This book will tug at your heartstrings. Jenna who lost her teenage daughter, Becca, has a podcast about true crime cases that have gone cold. It is her way of coping after all that she has lost. Even though her daughter's death has been ruled a suicide, Jenna doesn't believe it. She has had a lot of vandalism since starting her podcast, and after her latest one aired someone threw Molotov cocktails through her living room window. That's when her neighbor, Sean rushes in to save her. Will she finally get answers to what really happened to her daughter or will she suffer the same fate? Grab your copy to find out.

If you enjoy heart-pounding tension combined with a mystery and a budding romance, you will love Cold Case Mountain Murder. From the fast-paced beginning to a very satisfying end, this story kept me gripped, living the story along with Sean and Jenna.
As if that weren’t enough to rate five stars, author Rhonda Starnes shares her faith in a compelling, honest and non-preachy manner.
I could not put this fantastic book down and easily award it five stars. Recommended!

Cold Case Mountain Murder by Rhonda Starnes, is a must read. Starting out with danger from the get-go, this story keeps you reading. Trying to solve her daughter’s murder, with the help of her neighbor, it becomes a race to stay alive for Jenna and Sean. The characters and the scenery descriptions are great. I was surprised to find out who was the culprit.

A mother tries to find out how her daughter died. Did she fall, was she pushed, or did someone murder her. Through her podcasts she tries to find out the answers, but It ultimately gets her in the way of the murder. Her neighbor next door is there to help her when the house is set on fire and then he becomes her Ally in finding out what happened to her daughter. The end is a surprise.

Of her books this is my favorite! It was emotional and a very real portrayal of the struggle of grief, loss, and how it can affect one's Faith. The two main characters had depth and were endearing. I quite enjoyed reading from both perspectives!
