This was my first book by Asher Dark and I can't wait to check out more!

Our main characters are two goth best friends that just want to create as much chaos as possible!

This was a very disturbing read, some of the actions our characters do are so savage and revolting!

It is written very well, and kind of addicting, I was super interested in what they would do next, and I was not disappointed!

I was lucky as heck to be picked By Asher Dark to be an ARC reader for her new book Gothic Filth.

Let me tell you, this has become my favorite book of hers. It's brutal, she did not let up on the gore. It's so good, I felt so many emotions and the characters are top par. The way she describes everything in detail is chef's kiss and I literally felt like I was seeing it played out in front of me.

The prolouge man, stirred up so many relatable feelings when I was younger and in my rebellious era, I felt the anger, the judgment, the rebellion...

CHECK CHECK CHECK your trigger warning because I can bet there's something in this if you have them. Luckily or unluckily... lol I don't have any.

I don't want to leave any spoilers so I'm biting my tounge. 😬

This book is 10/10 and if you wanna get your hands on it the E-Book is available for Pre-Order and the Release Date is 4/12/2024 so get up on it!!!!

If you are a fan of Stuart Bray's Violence On The Meek series, then you will absolutely LOVE Gothic Filth. If you have any triggers at all, Asher Dark will hit them head on, and she probably doesn't care to make you ugly cry either. This is your warning.
This story is brutal to the core, but there were many times where I caught myself laughing from the dialogue of our main characters, Jason and David. I love a good splatter novel with some comedic elements, whether it was intentional or not.
Jason and David are lovers with a taste for killing and causing as much destruction as they can. When it comes to their killing spree, they do not discriminate. Think of the pair as a 90's goth Romeo and Romeo, with eyeliner and good hair.
The 90's goth vibe set the tone, and I am here for it! The music, the clothing, and all the references took me back to my teen years.
This book will most likely make it to my top 5 favorites of 2024. Bet.
..... now I'm off to go blast some Manson on my speakers.

This book is so full of grammar & spelling mistakes, it was hard to stay interested in the story. I don’t think I’ll be reading any more Asher Dark books

When the quiet kid finds love, and it’s for MURDER!

Now, I’ll admit that from the title, I was expecting something a little more gaslamp-esque. That said, this was still a nice surprise. Asher Darks “Gothic Filth” is the story of young David, a troubled youth, to say the least, who finds both his one and only true love, as well as his one true calling: thrill killing!

Just the kinds of things boys do at that age… takes me back to my days as a younger Corpse Child…😊💀🩸

(Kidding, of course. Sorta😉)

What I liked about this story, besides the Manson references (any book that ends with lyrics from one of my favorite Manson songs gets a plus from me🤣), was the sheer angst presented. This wasn’t a story of two youths just trying to fight the injustices of the world, but just two deranged killers, akin to Rod Ferrel and the Kentucky Vampire clan (another cool touch).

Now, I will say that the romance between the two, while nice and rather sweet, DID feel a little overdone at times. It was almost like the two were PDAing at every turn of the page. Whether that was supposed to be part of the charm or not, I found it JUST A TAD annoying at times. I also felt that the MCs deranged sexual fantasies just seemed to grow more and more stale the more they were mentioned.

All of that said, this is a cool read and one for any of you out there who either still love dressing in a all black or those of you who love to reminisce about doing so.

🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪 out of 5

Asher Dark shows us the true meaning of Gothic Filth by taking us in a visceral, head-on collision with the sordid relationship of David and Jason. Their misanthropic ideals (save for themselves) spread throughout the nooks and crannies of their lives, leaving behind a wake of crimson and carnage. A quick 61-page read, it puts its foot on the gas, watches the speedometer creep to 130, and never lets up. Even the ending leaves you craving more. Setting shift is seamless throughout and it played out like a movie. Loved the homage to not only other authors that served as inspiration, but clear excerpts from her preferred music, style and finesse. Asher Dark is quickly solidifying herself within the splatterpunk world and further cements that with this dark and twisted tale. Absolute must read for fans of the genre!

I have enjoyed each book from this author but one of the best parts is getting to watch the growth.

This book blows her last two out of the water, which is saying something. 😐

A dark and accurate depiction of the grunge scene that surrounded this time period. This book holds up to the title. Pure filth from cover to cover.

I know many of you have enjoyed this authors other work and I guarantee this one will impress you more than the last. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a balls to the wall extreme joyride of pure unpleasantness.🕷

Read at your own risk!

This is a modern-day version of Romeo and Juliet but with a darker tone, much darker. It's a thrilling read of two male lovers who can't be without each other as they terrorize society in an attempt to be happy with each other. However, they soon cross a line where they can't turn back.

It's gory, brutal, and thrilling. Gothic Filth is also a book that shows the Goth subset of society pretty well. I must warn you, this book pulls NO punches. It's extreme horror at its finest!

Tragic love story

Hate fueled, teen angst love, sex and death. What more could ya want? Nice quick engaging read. I do feel like the F word was over used a bit in this one, much like the debut story from this author. A wider vocabulary would be refreshing. But again, this was pissed off teen boys telling the story so it fits, I guess

Holy shit…for as short of a read as it was, this was an unrelenting fuck fest of depravity and violence.

You want triggers, it’s a buy one get all special. Jason and David just gave zero fucks and lived in the moment with each other.

I LOVED this book and will probably end up reading it again. Another absolute banger from Asher Dark.

Very tragic modern day romance. Packed full of love and so much more romantic than any Colleen hoover book and still a better love story than twilight. They're the coolest edgiest goths trying to be free from meanies being all mean and stuff

Can you say Holy $ħïŤ?!?!

This really was such a beautifully disturbing love story and I hope and pray there will be a whole series based on it because David and Jason, their brutal escapades could fill a whole bookshelf that I would never tire of reading.

3.5 stars. Check triggers, it's brutal. Not extreme horror beginner friendly! It kind of left on a cliffhanger. So if there is a second one, I'll definitely read it! Asher dark knows how to write some good gore scenes!

This read is a fine example of Splatterpunk that embodies the boundary pushing definition of the genre as a whole. One can expect a twisted love story that truly exemplifies the depths of intertwined insanity and attachment. I enjoyed this quick novella and appreciated the nature of the read.

If you are looking for a fantastic quick read, please read this book. It is action and gore from page 1. I could see every scene perfectly in my mind and came to love the characters, in my own twisted way. My favorite book by Asher Dark so far. I hope there is a part 2!!

This was intense and brutal from the start. The boys turn their love into a heinous spree, and absolutely nobody is safe. Their actions are reprehensible, and you can't look away. The violence is dialed up to eleven with descriptions that leave your jaw stuck to the ground. This is what happens when Romeo and Juliet become filled with rage and inflict that pain on others rather than themselves. Another twisted hit from Asher Dark.

“Remember to always be yourself. Fuck society! Show them what it means to be gothic filth.”

Goth, murderous lovers, David and Jason are taking us on a killing spree. So it’s time to dust off those JNCO’s and grab the black eye-liner cuz it’s time to get ready for Gothic Filth!

Asher has once again blown me away with her story-telling. This one felt like it truly came from the heart. It was just authentic. Remember all her trigger warnings? “Trigger here, trigger there, triggers are every fucking where?” Well yeah, this book has all the damn triggers lol!

Also, Mulan will never be the same after this. I will always think of this book now 🤣🤣

Thank you so much for this ARC, Asher! I can’t wait to see what’s next for you. You rock!!

Gothic filth should be available on April 12th!
