He bought me, forced me to be his mate, and knocked me up. I’ve been an outcast all my life, but I’ve never been sold like cattle before. My buyer is the Alpha of the cursed lands, where birth rates have fallen to zero. He needs a human to bear his child. So he grabs me and puts me into his bed.
I grew up among abuse, and everyone thinks I’m weird. So when a stranger buys me, I don’t know if things are getting better or worse. Until he tells me that our mating ceremony is tomorrow. Until he says that he will get me pregnant with his baby a.s.a.p.
People tell horror stories about these lands. They’re a far cry from the truth. His cursed hands lay me bare, teaching me about my curves. His cursed body takes my virginity, which is his by right. The witch inside me is awakening and asking Am I just his child bearer?
Or will the Alpha mark me as his mate for real?
The Alphas of Starlight Valley don’t ever take no for an answer. You can run to the end of the world, but they will claim what’s theirs anyway and make you beg for more. Because ultimately, an Alpha gets what an Alpha his mate and his baby…
Esme has had a hard life, abused mentally and physically by not only a man who found her and she thinks of as her father but by the whole village. She has no idea why they all hate her and tries to stay under the radar. Asher’s tribe have lived in the cursed lands but now the curse has started to affect them, they are becoming extinct and the only way to save them is for him to get a human mate. In the old days, he would just steal a mate by nowadays that seems barbaric and so he sets out to persuade a human woman to go with him. I absolutely loved this book: Asher is a great Alpha, caring for his tribe and trying to do right by Asher too. My heart broke with how Esme was treated and desperately wanted her life to improve: she is a kind, strong soul who just wanted to be loved. The whole story was so enjoyable, I was left wondering about the witches who were heard screaming and the sacrificial tree – I was hoping maybe she would be human again, but maybe that would be too much! I voluntarily received and reviewed an ARC copy of the book.
Asher grey alpha of the ghostbound pack sees that their land is dying the plants are no more healthy and the woman are no longer fertile and the only thing that was saving them apiana's tree is dying the curses are coming and the only solution is to find a human who agrees to come with him. Soon Asher and Esme have their chemistry peeking in soon Esme is pregnant, and at the end she restart's what apiana did and solve all their problems. HEA guaranteed. I loved this entire series all of them are so amazing, I love this author. Pls keep writing more books each book has amazing spice.
I want to say it was a quick read as I’m getting on in the series. I am finding that either the authors getting lazy or AI is playing a part in these books. They are extremely repetitive to the point where I’m looking at one paragraph and the paragraph is pretty much the exact same thing except for slightly different differently. There’s a lot of frustrating angst and it also has multiple sex scenes that are and you kind of know what happens. So the plot is not really built up the sex scenes aren’t that great so a lot of words with very little to go on they give it three stars just from the aspect that it kept me entertained for a little bit. I do find I can read these in a day as I can skim most of it and not miss anything. I am on book 7 and I’m pretty sure I’m gonna stop and I know there is a 11 books in the series, but their progress progressively getting worse. It’s a shame cause the concepts there but all she needed to do was focus more on the plot of the book or the sex. It’s OK if the romance is amazing but the plot sucks but to have both fall flat is pretty rough.
Why is every single 4.5-starred author so terrible at writing? This is beyond frustrating. I’m about four pages in and I’m already DNFing. This is happening with book after book after book. I just want a decent story to read! I’m so sick of the dishonest reviews in Kindle. I’m not paying to be lied to, and these authors are paying for lies. It’s BS.
The narration is inconsistent, switching between an omniscient narrator and the ridiculously perceptive thoughts and observations of the POV character age, six year old Esme.
The father figure’s episode of rage was just… stupid, as was the flashback of bullying. It was wayyyy OTT (i.e. bad writing). I expect the rest of the book is going to be the same.
This is an easy and good romantic story. Asher is the Alpha of his people and has been trying to figure out what is going on with their lands that have become barren like their females. The elders tell Asher that he needs to go out and find a human female to mate. They need new blood for their pack. Esme is a beautiful and kind young woman. Unfortunately the townspeople and her fake dad have bullied her all her life. It’s a wonder that she is still nice. Esme is singing to the flowers when Asher hears the song a seeks to find her. That is where their relationship begins. Read On!
Alexa Griffin dad a got job with this story. There was suspends through it this book. I loved that in the end they get their HEA. I loved how she get to see her mother's spirit and was able to talk to her. Not only was her life saved, but the loved of a whole pack and their lands. Worth getting and reading.
Loved Asher and Esme’s story, hated the editing. The storyline is well thought out and flows beautifully, the characters are well written and you want them to get their happily ever after. What you don’t get is a clean edit, there are so many run on words that should have been caught by the editor or proofreader, that being said the story is well worth reading. 4✨’s
There is a reverence in this relationship that is built as Asher and Esme accept each other. When Esme learned that she was a witch, she had fear and curiosity. It is her gift to the pack to bring life.
This is a charming story. But, sooo boring! This story, I just couldn’t finish, I honestly tried. It’s filled with 10 year old like thoughts, mixed in with a lot of musings inward. Drove me crazy.
I Really enjoyed reading this book! It has been a while since I read books and me reading this gave me the urge to read more books. I would totally recommend it!
