I had been eagerly waiting for North Side Of The Grass since it was hinted about at the end of Phantom Reunion. So, when the author requested a review, I immediately jumped on it. I am a vast Reily Garrett fan and couldn’t wait to see what she had in store for Casper and Hailey. I wasn’t disappointed.
North Side Of The Grass is the fifth book in the Hailey Arquette Murder Files. This book cannot be read as a stand alone. You must read the previous four books before starting this one. You also need to read The Guardians series before starting this one (honestly, I would start with her first series and go down the list. All her books are interconnected).
The main storyline of North Side Of The Grass is centered on Casper, Hailey, and their ongoing investigation of the Gifted school where Casper is a student. A psychic student had gone missing and was found murdered. That same student is pissed at Casper for dating her love interest and throws some wrenches into her murder investigation. But that quickly ends when another psychic student is kidnapped, and a plot involving the local mob and the rest of the psychic students at the school is uncovered.
The main storyline was well-written and fast-moving. I could barely catch a breath between Casper and Hailey’s investigations. The author also showed more of Casper’s interactions with her found family (more background is given if you read The Guardian series). I loved seeing Casper act like a normal kid instead of the phasing/fighting machine that she had been portrayed as in the other books.
More attention was paid to Casper and her shifter boyfriend’s relationship. Since he is a wolf shifter, he does have that alpha male air around him, and it comes out hardcore when Casper is around other males. I figured out what that meant early in the book, but I enjoyed watching him try to figure out how to let Casper know.
The storyline with the students and the mob was interesting. I liked that the author brought a character that nullified other psychic powers. I also liked that the kids (the students) had to work together to escape where they were being held prisoner. It wasn’t a right away meshing of like souls. There were some pretty snobby people in that group. But they all came together in the end to kick some bad guys’ butts.
I loved how the book ended. The author left the main storyline wide open and added to it with the disappearance of a character introduced in book four. I cannot wait to read book six and see where that one takes me!

Our heroine is used to hiding her abilities and working from the shadows, so working with others presents certain challenges. But when someone starts targeting students with psychic abilities, she is going to have to set her misgivings aside in order to save them all.
This is book five of the series, but it works fine as a standalone.
This is a romantic suspense story with paranormal elements. The story is well written, and easy to read with well developed characters and an intriguing setting. There is a lot of action and intrigue in this one, so the story moves at a good pace. The characters are well done and make for an unlikely but powerful team. The story does get a bit creepy at times, but not overly much, so just a heads up. Overall, a fast moving story that draws you in at the beginning and doesn't let go. I continue to look forward to another book in the series.

Another Awesome Mystery!
We rejoin Hailey Arquette, a psychic PI, and her partner Casper as they pursue the investigation of gifted students going missing, especially when murder is involved. This one is “close to home” for Casper who knows many of the students where she also attends the school. Who is behind these deadly kidnappings and what are they up to kidnapping gifted students?
Fast-action writing full of danger, suspense, and sometimes even humor, along with a paranormal twist, makes this series an excellent and captivating reading experience. Can the extraordinary team find justice and rescue the missing students? The storyline will keep the reader’s full attention from start to finish. I cannot get enough of this exciting series, easily one of the best I have read!

When I got this book I didn't realize it was a part of a series so there was a little confusion for me at first but I just went ahead and ended up having one fantastic time inside this book. Wow, I was not expecting all of this, so when I finished I went and bought the first book because I loved this one so much I had to know how it all started. Great book, either starting with the fifth one or the first one. Now that those two are out of the way I can get started on the other three!!

A great continuation of this fast paced action packed series. I enjoyed getting to know more of the students at the gifted elite school and learning about new psychic gifts. The team has grown and continues to develop strength. A war is coming and the tension is building. I cannot wait for the next book.

Very stressful situation for Casper and her gifted classmates. Literally on three edge of my seat the entire last half of the book. She sure has come into her own - leading this group; she is maturing and taking responsibility of the young classmates. Unfortunately, the drama isn’t over and Casper’s uncle is back in the next book. I can’t wait to see what’s next for this large, special group.

Great series!
This series gets better with every book. A new threat faces Hailey & Casper when they find a murderer student from The Gifted Elite School. Looks like some of the students are being targeted by the bad guys. As the Team tries to figure out what’s going on, evil people are trying to kill them. I’m looking forward to the next book.

Training to be a team
Thanks to this author for writing an entertaining story without bad language or sex scenes! I enjoyed this book. It's fun to see Casper growing up and makes my an effort with getting bro know other people. It is interesting to see how multiple people can learn to work together for a comment goal. For me, this series keeps getting better.

This book is an excellent continuation of the series. It has great characters and a fast paced story. This book had me hooked from the opening pages. definitely recommended!.

Interesting
I am finding this series interesting. The found psychic family keeps growing. And quickly too. I like how relationships are forming, both romantically and otherwise. The challenges are becoming more demanding as well. I look forward to reading more.

Teen hormones???
Casper gets kidknapped, and finding was tough. While trying to find out the killer of a teen found in the tree and dealing with her ghost emotions, things started of badly. The has decided to find once again who's kidnapping these school kids.

Definitely worth a read
The storyline flows easily with a few twists and turns. I'd say teens and up, could and would enjoy this book.
