Marine war vet Tyson Gage and the Gambit's crew embark on their most ambitious mission yet.
The clock's ticking down on his son's condition when a research team working on a cure for the Owari is hit in a military strike. Their lead scientist has been captured.
Gage and his team must make the extraction… if they can find him before it's too late.
They're not the only ones who want the cure. The mission will take them to uncharted worlds and alien wonders that turn into battle fronts, since old friends and enemies have reached a showdown for the same reward. The implications will shape the future of society in the Commonwealth.
Humanity hangs in the balance... Now, if we could just get this crew to behave.

PRAISE FOR MILES ROZAK FROM TODAY'S TOP

Then he plunges them into a grand adventure and puzzling mystery, hooking the reader into a brand new universe full of danger and wonder." - Rick Partlow, former U.S. Army infantry platoon leader and bestselling science fiction author of the Drop Trooper series and Taken to the Stars series.
"A perfect balance of military realism and science fiction." - Rachel Aukes, bestselling author of multiple novels in USA Today's Recommended Reads.
“Grab this book and hold on tight. Miles Rozak has written a story that will launch you from your living room chair into a galaxy packed with technological, futuristic wonders. This novel is a blast!” - Scott Bartlett, bestselling author of space opera and military science fiction novels.
"Few authors are able to grab and hold my attention the way that Miles Rozak did… I couldn't wait to keep reading. Just plain excellent! A page turner to the end.” - Jasper T. Scott, million-copy selling author of the Cade Korbin Chronicles and Nightstalkers.
"Tyson Gage is my kind of hero." - Toby Neighbors, bestselling author of the SSG Vanhorn Series and Armor Brigade.
"A great book. It started off giving me Alan Dean Foster's Glory Lane kind of vibes and took off from there. A former Marine turned guitar maker in space—just don't get between him and his son or dog." - William S. Frisbee, bestselling military sci-fi author of The Last Marines, and U.S. Marine Corps veteran.
Miles Rozak's got a blaster cannon tucked under his bed that he built with plans from a ship that cratered in his backyard.
As you can tell, his imagination's been cooking since an early age. At 18 months old, Mom says he'd draw pictures until falling asleep.
Age 6, he teared up watching Darth Vader's sacrifice in ROTJ.
A love for sci-fi blossomed soon after.
Like in junior high, when he wrote a screenplay involving a robot that upon filming, earned a call to police from the neighbors. (For the record, that gun was a prop.)
Decades later, not much has changed.
Except he's now focused on books (to avoid run-ins with the authorities).
Looking back, Miles credits his Mom for keeping him stocked with crayons, Dad for reading the greats aloud, Wife for input, Readers for motivation, and God for the creative spark.

Miles Rozak has repeatedly proven himself in different books he has written. This book really kicks it up a notch. It is one thing to have a great story, it is another thing to experience the characters actually grow and change throughout the course of the books. In this 4th book of the series, as things come to a crescendo for the characters, we get a real glimpse into just how much Gage, Tess, and others have changed throughout the story. We see just what a father will do to rescue his son.
This is one story I absolutely cannot and will not ruin for you with spoilers. Suffice it to say, there are a whole bunch of twists and turns that will keep you up reading long into the night. It is a full-length book that reads incredibly fast. I was still sleep-deprived from being unable to put it down to see what happened next.
In this 4th book, our heroes have to solve some problems: The scientist working on a cure for the Owari infection is captured in a military operation from their secret base. But who may be a traitor in their midst, infected by the Owari? They have to obtain a sample of the primordial Owari DNA. But the scientists aren't the only ones looking for it. So are the Yakuza. And maybe another faction. What they do to keep Gage from getting it will leave you gasping.
That is not Tyson Gage's only problem as Ollie can no longer be sedated. He's taken to an "academy" for hybrids. But their whole perspective is that the Owari have at least as much right to cohabitate with human bodies as the humans whom they have infected. And someone with a lot of funds and resources is pushing the Code Red agenda galaxy-wide. The only problem is the Owari hosts decimate and kill the humans and then discard them.
And that's not all - There's propaganda out on the galaxy-wide networks that something else took place to destroy the earth so many centuries ago. Could the Quonella be involved?
If you are wondering why I wrote that this is a gripping action-packed read that will leave you breathless and sleepless, you're getting the idea now.
And the ending... you'll have to read it to believe it, following one of the most intense space battle segments I've ever read.
This is an absolute must-read story. Now I have to wait for Book 5 and hope that the author ties up some loose ends... Like what really happened to the Earth.
Recommended this series to anyone who read Heinlein in the way back days. I grew up reading sci-fi in the early 50's and books like this are the reason I'm still into it.
I really enjoyed the story arc coming together. Lots of action, and twists and turns. I can’t wait for the next book! I received a free copy of this book with no obligation.
