Rate this book
This book/CD combination is designed for the beginning violin or fiddle student. It's clearly illustrated with many diagrams and exercises to develop good bowing technique and to learn how to play in tune with the left hand. The easy to follow, step by step instruction makes this the perfect book/CD for school orchestra programs or group instruction. The songs include Alphabet Song, Mary Had A Little Lamb, Go Tell Aunt Rhody, When The Saints Go Marching In, Red River Valley, Sunday Waltz, and Seagulls & Seals. All songs are written in Standard music notation and played at two speeds on the accompanying CD (slow for practice and up tempo for performing)

read this way back before my life changed, when i wanted to be a musician in an orchestra. i still play guitar professionally and some piano but i haven't touched my violin in ages, if i pick it up for a week il probably remember, but right now music is just an auxiliary. The reminiscence this book brings is poignant, a time before the poison.
