2⭐️ 1🌶️

This book kind of fell apart in my opinion. I had no idea what was happening and felt like it was completely incoherent. I no longer was looking forward to reading it.

was not ready

I loved the series. I’m glad that they got their HEA, but I was not prepared for that dang epilogue. Now I have a stuff nose and red rimmed eyes! Definitely happy I read it though.

DNF @ 41%

Honestly? It started to lose me, and then the eye thing happened and I was even more confused. And then the mirror thing happened to Vexx? And I was even MORE confused.

I don't need to finish it to know how it ends though, so I'm going to call it a day and put it down.

Absolute perfection!!

I loved this series so much!! Everything about it!! I absolutely adored how the FL was not a cowering damsel in distress all the time, but instead was a bad ass who didn't take any bull from anyone including her love interest. It was a breath of fresh air. I am a little sad that it's over now, but I will definitely be rereading this series again in the future. Thank you Jinapher for an amazing serious!! I can't wait to read more from you!!

Overall better than book 1 and 2. Way less chaotic and more enjoyable. You’re also entering a multiverse since the epilogue is tied to another duology by the same author. You could still read this trilogy on it’s own, but if you truly want the end of the story you will have to continue with her other books.

This entire series was the most rush and confusing thing. I should’ve DNF it at the second book but forced myself to continue bc they are such short books. Don’t recommend honestly

TLDR: there's no happy ending, if you want a happy ending, per the author, don't read the epilogue.

I hope this is like a massive beta reading test for the series because it has so much potential, so much vision, so much opportunity to be remarkable, and it just....falls. There's a unique magic system, a sprawling multiverse, and so, so much out there in this book, but not a lick of it is explored, explained, delved, or resolved. In my other review here I discuss how rushed books one and two feel--this absolutely continues. It's like a thought dump.

Honestly, I thought my ADHD was getting the better of me and then I'd reference the other books and nope, it really is just that disjointed. (FMC or MMC would mention an event, I'd go looking for it, and nope, the detail just isn't there).

Spoilers ahead.

It felt like they were married for maybe A DAY before stuff went way sideways, but no, it was months? and according to FMC it's been TWO YEARS since the first book, but when you're reading it, it feels like MAYBE six months.

There's a lot of lore just dropped and not explained. There's even the chance to explain the lore and clarify SO MANY THINGS-literally two scenes with BOOKS where the characters are RESEARCHING, but no. We're not given that. We're not really given anything.

There isn't a happy ending, here. I've got the next in the universe on my kindle thanks to Stuff your Kindle day, but I'm hesitant to devote more time to this author. I want, desperately, to like this world. But it feels so unfinished that I feel hollow.

Only good thing about the book was the fact that the author warns you she’s about to ruin the relationship between the mc’s before she starts it.

Zora takes on the power of all the Heirs of Fate so she can destroy Artos, the ‘guardian’ trying to free himself of the prison his parents, the gods, made for him. Which is the realm they live in. Dudes a dick throwing a tantrum and Zora’s forced to side with the gods and become immortal so she can fight in a future war against the other 14 guardians from different realms with other descendants as her allies I guess. BUT this literally means she’s outliving everyone, including her husband who you can’t help but root for because THATS ALL THE AUTHOR PUSHES FOR THE FIRST TWO BOOKS. So wtf are we left with? Rushed world building. Mid magic system. Flat characters. And a mid romance that gets flushed down the drain. After everything the FMC had been through (sa,trafficking, torture, betrayal < her brother literally aids in her eyes being torn out and then the mf stabs her in the neck) and there’s no happy ending for her? Are you kidding me? All she ever wanted was love and family and in the end she didn’t even get to keep that.
And my Sam Cortland trauma refuses to read past the ‘epilogue’ to read the dumbass 49 years later bullshit where she’s saying goodbye to Cristen on his death bed. So thanks for nothing I guess lmao

I am so dissapointed in the ending of this book and how it turned out.
This series had a lot of potential and I felt like a lot was left out and some things were not explained well. Also, during some scenes it’s as if she skips whole sentences describing what’s supposed to be happening and then at the end of the paragraph you’re scratching your head like ???????? How did she kill him when she didn’t even attack him it yet?????
Also this love interest was just so bad. “I want him but I can’t have him” WHY NOT????
The getting married like three times at the end was overkill and so unnecessary, Cristen does not know how to show his love in any other way than repeat weddings.

Also, scenes/parts that were confusing:
*spoilers!*
- how did she escape artos?
-what the fuck is this nowhere
-why couldn’t she renegotiate a deal with Magic/Mayhem?
-why did she only pledge to one and not both?
-why couldn’t she make some sort of deal to let go of the power after the battle to become mortal?
- the ending, why did she have to go to nowhere and meet a mysterious lady? Where is Magic?
-Why couldn’t the names in this book be a little better?
- WHY COULDNT CRISTEN BE A MAN AND TAKE SOME BURDEN???? “my bad ass wife” and YOU CRISTEN? WHAT R U ? A TROPHY HUSBAND????
I thought I wanted badass FMC but this was EXTREME. CRISTAL MADE ME WANNA PUKE HE WAS SO LAME

I read the trilogy altogether and just finished the wars of fate, I needed a series to be quick and fun for a weekend away read, and it did fit that bill, at least a bit. However I could not get away from the improper use of the non-word I’s instead of using the word me in so many places, it was really such a distraction.

It was in all of three of the books, but more frequently in the last one wars of fate. There were other uses of words that normally I never pick out, but perhaps the difficulty here was that they were more evident in some weaker dialogue or storylines.

The conclusion didn’t really provide any twists or turns that I had hoped for, and actually, I think the epilogue should’ve been woven into the story because it at least gave us some closure and foreshadowing of what’s to come… but it was all very projectable and tied in a nice knot and bow… some people love that, I would’ve liked a little more intrigue.

I think this was very expected and obvious but that doesn't mean it was a bag thing. Everyone gets what they deserve and now she's this all powerful being who is immortal.
Seems far fetched? Not really she had to go through one hell of a time to get here.
I genuinely felt sad when he did that to her eyes.
I thought he was a really interesting character and I would have liked some back story or have and why he was such an unapologetic character.
I read the epilogue even though I put off reading this whole book because I was scared of what was coming. Turns out I wasn't as upset by it as I might think.
It was like a couple of years down the line. It was 40 years down the line and it was a lovely way to say goodbye after their life together.

Until Death

This book was a nice ending. A war with so much loss but an even bigger gain... FREEDOM. Without reading the epilogue, as stated by the author, you get an ending with a HEA that was definitely fought for. If you choose to read the epilogue, you get a human HEA for a human/descendant duo. Zora faces her greatest loss yet, her love of her life. But being the bada** she has always been, she mourns him and follows through with the promise they made each other. To fulfill this promise, she heads off the Nowhere, where she meets Vallene, which is the start of the next series I will be reading. Can't wait to see what these two do.

4.5 stars!

This story made me laugh and cry! A story that can truly invoke both emotions is worthy of top marks!

I loved Kristen and his ability to be an alpha, but then step aside and let his woman lead, protect her, but only if she needs it, high is not often.

But Zora is the killer Queen in this, she is what a main female character should be, badass, sassy, proud, but with a slight hint of vulnerability. Only slight! Absolute gem!

Thoroughly enjoyed this story and looks like I will have to go and read the next series now!

For the Love of all that is holy.

Okay the action was giving! Our Girl was put through the ringer but she was ready to kiss a$$ and take names. The ending was not what I was expecting like ouch that hurt. There was quiet a few ugly tears shed and my children may have looked at me like I was having a mental break down but I survived barley but survived that epilogue was gut wrenching. So worth the read though.

THE FIRST BOOK OF THE SERIES WAS SO GOOD. Honestly I think the author got bored by the second book because it all went down hill. If you thought it was hard to read and all over the place before GOOD LUCK. We could’ve dived so much deeper into the magic system give me more detail on the MMCs powers/curse. It’s the last book and I still don’t think the author knew what they wanted to do with the story. I love her weighting style but this series had so much potential and you used none of it.

The emotional trauma I just went through 😫

I really feel like this could have definitely been a longer book. There were parts I was really confused about how we got there, things I just felt should have been expanded. I can definitely see why I needed to read this in the middle of the other duology though, because of the epilogue. I love how strong Zora was the entire trilogy, how she really never wavered. Cristen was a beautifully done MMC, being moody and broody but also hopelessly in love. Overall, I am so happy I’ve stumbled upon this author!

almost cried

So, for reference, I don’t get emotional. The dog movies everyone cried over…not one of those people, but this genuinely had my heart in “threads”. So much emotion was poured into this story and it was written so well! First fantasy I’ve read that wasn’t boring, too much, too fast, or not enough.

An epic and exciting end to a fast-paced but lovely series. As with my reviews on the previous two books, I just wanted more from this world because I so genuinely loved the characters, aesthetic, magic system and the connections to her other works. I think I'm just greedy.

🖤 I loved these characters so much. Zora is strength, resilience and empathy and I loved her journey through this series. It was quick and sometimes the lack of details or inner monologue was jarring but I just went with the flow and enjoyed the story. I cannot wait to see what's next for her. Cristen...oh boy. This man had me swooooning. He was a true hero and loved with his whole heart. The epilogue killed me and was so beautifully written it hurt. But then I remembered the ending to For Blood and Flame and was like...oh my god...Jinapher has created a masterpiece of a multiverse.

🖤 I wanted more backstory on Artos and his powers. I was a bit lost as to why he was so unapologetically evil but he was a great villain and I wanted to see more of him and how he fits into the multiverse.

Overall, I'd recommend this trilogy because it fits into the multiverse and I think in order to really appreciate the impact of the ending of For Blood and Flame, one has to read this trilogy. I love everything that Jinapher writes and I can't wait to see what's next!

A Bittersweet End

I have always been a fan of endings like this. It is not the happy ending you hope for, but you get just enough content to keep you satisfied.

I will be honest, I put this book down a number of times. I found it hard to get through, but ultimately I am glad I got to see the end of the story. Overall great trilogy ❤️

After finishing this series and realising I missed out reading the first book like a numpty (reading the first book would’ve helped massively with my understanding of this series I hate myself)

It was a decent read but really fast. I feel like a lot happened and not a huge amount was explained and things were skimmed over in the plot. Still a fun read.

I love this series

This series is so good. I love how different the author portrays her female main character and how unique and interesting the storyline is whilst still having the basics needed to make it a love story full of twists and turns and a new kind of magic…and mayhem!

I really struggled to finish this book. The whole series has so much promise but the story jumps forward so quickly that you find yourself struggling to follow and feeling like you've missed chunks of story. I honestly think with a good editor this could be a 5 star story

Honestly I loved the characters and the overall story line but there was a little bit too much back and forth between the main characters and I hated how it ended. I’m sure it would make more sense with the other series of the multiverse but I didn’t like how it ended regardless.
