I loved this exercise book. It has so many interesting suggestions for exercising while sitting. It must be great for seniors. But I am going to try them on my periods when I can’t do a full body workout but I feel like working out a little. Sitting on the chair and working out is amazing for such weak days. There is also a lot of real life stories and experiences sprinkled throughout. I loved the photos and the breakdown of the chapters. Highly recommended.
The book tells a little about the history of Pilates and Yoga. The book is very detailed as to some straightforward movements a person can do to increase their flexibility. There are lots of pictures and quotes from doctors and practitioners regarding the ease of getting started and then building on your routine. The book is inexpensive, and you will probably want to refer back to it from time to time.
There are videos on the market that show the proper way to do the exercises. And, if you've spent any time online, you've probably gotten at least one or two ads allowing you to follow classes online. So far, I haven't had any of the weight loss they promised, but I do feel like I'm a little more flexible, and I think I'm getting more restful sleep. With any exercise program, you need to make sure your doctor clears you before starting a program, and I suggest you start with a buddy in case you overdo it and need help moving from the chair to the couch.
