'Share the love' It's easy to take the most important people in your life for granted, leaving them at the bottom of your to-do list. At the end of your life the people you love and who have loved you, will prove to be one of your greatest sources of happiness. Give them the time they deserve today. "Give the people you love the best of yourself, not the worst." We all admit to wanting to feel happier on a daily basis. But many of us don't realise that the truth to lasting happiness is understanding happiness as something that you create, each and every day, through the simple choices that you make.100 Days Happier invites the reader to make small daily changes in the way they think and act; changes that will create a fundamental shift in the way they feel about who they are and the life they are living.
I listened to this as an audiobook through Bolinda Audio.
If you want a dose of quick fire rap of inspirational quotes, this definitely will do it, it's like taking a double dose of sunshine, wafting through fields of sunflowers and finding a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
The vibe of this book seemed to be that if you’re depressed/sad/unhappy… basically it’s your own fault… so I thought I’d check the audio version (spoken by the author)… and this was even worse! If you’re already happy this book might be validating (except I’m happy & I found it offensive, lol).
I was gifted this book when I graduated from my final year in high school. I only just picked it up and read it cover to cover. There were many insightful and inspiring points about cultivating a life of happiness. The author highlights that many people think that if they have a particular relationship, career, car or home they’ll then be happy. Happiness is much for than that though.
I think this would be a fantastic book to have on your desk or bedside table everyday. You could then open any page at random and be inspired for the rest of the day.
I have to agree with most of the reviewers here. Picked up this book as the title sounds promising. But as soon as I flipped through the pages, the author is telling me things that I already knew. Most of the advices here are just plain simple and contains basic advice we’ve heard many times before. Finished this book in just one sitting. Few parts are repetitive and I have found myself unable to concentrate just because how boring this book is. Maybe this is the one for you if you’re looking for book which can support and encourages you to just “be happy” but if you like to think things over and believe that there is more than just to “be happy” - I’d suggest to just drop this. To me, somehow this book just gives me empty promises.
Nothing revolutionary, quite repetitive, and occasionally quite wrong 🙃 but I still think you could get something out of this if you reflected (like a 15min free writing type thing or something) on one page/each day and then tried to apply it for the week. I might do that but for now, I went through this over a week (because it was due back at the library) and some of it felt quite motivational (but admittedly, I just ignored the parts I disagreed with, or motivated myself with my own interpretation 😅)
Probably best for people who are happy, but want to be happier. But not so much for people who are sad. So good work putting "happier" in the title, I guess.
100 Days Happier is a book that encourages people to make small daily changes in their thoughts and actions to create happiness.
This book was an easy, simple read. The points were good, especially around being grateful for what you have, however this is intended for people who want to find a little more happiness in their day to day rather than people who are battling depression. I found some points required a lot of privilege already to be able to apply (i.e. don't worry about money!).
What a useless book. I went into this thinking it would give some good advice and be uplifting, but one of the suggestions was "smile when you cry" which I think speaks volumes for itself. This book seems extremely out of touch, believing that you can fix anything, however we are humans and do have financial worries and legitimate concerns towards other people and cannot simply make ourselves happy in difficult situations.
It's kinda sad to see so many negative reviews about this book, calling it repetitive, or something we already know. Yes, there are simple things in this book, many of which we know from before - but don't we as humans need reminders? It's a very helpful book, and can uplift your mood if you're feeling low about life's circumstances.
Walk away (from this book). Affirmation to make your time happier and less wasted. If you're already happy and worrying about frugal things in life...aka first world problems, this book is for you.
This is the second book I've read today by Domonique Bertolucci. The first one was "Less is More" and it also followed the same pattern of writing this one. These two books have many points in common but I think '1oo Days Happier' contains some unique ideas too. You can find out most of the ideas in an ordinary self-help book but here Bertolucci's books are not vast in nature. Just precise and crisp. It gives us the space to think and make our own versions of ideas. Worth reading. A quick read.
Was a nice little boost! Some of what she said was absolute shit BUT I do like the reminder on what we think the standard should be isn’t what someone’s standards are so you shouldn’t let that get to you

The one hundred simple yet powerful statements, if taken and followed seriously, are bound to transform your life. The basic premise is that happiness is 100 percent in your control and you could achieve that with a simple mindshift. Loved it!
100 Days Happier is very sweet and filled with lots of lovely ideas and tips. The main problem for me is that I feel like I've read them 100 times before. The content is not at all original or unique, so I can't rate this more than two stars.
