The spring thaw has finally arrived in Deadwood, and things have been quiet for Brynn Sullivan. Too quiet. With everything back to normal, well, as normal as things get for Brynn and Bernie, she’s starting to wonder if she’s lost her gifts.
All that changes when a local couple approaches her with an interesting job… A job she’s not sure she’s qualified to tackle, but given the lack of work, she’s eager to take it on.
Brynn’s not afraid to get her hands dirty, and she’s definitely not afraid of ghosts, but there is something very wrong in this house. It’s going to take all of her skills, and the help of her friends, to avoid getting swept away.
Another great book in this series! Excellent mystery and interesting characters. I enjoyed the book!

This one left me confused. My understanding of kelpie lore is that kelpies can take human form, but I've not read anywhere that humans can change into kelpies. Did the kelpie kill the brother when he was young and take his form? Was that explained somewhere and I just missed it? Did the author not do enough research on kelpies? I'll stick with the series, but I wish the emphasis would go back to ghosts instead of introducing a new mythical creature in every book.
So happy to see Brynn and Bernie back with all the crew! This one was interesting and well researched. I enjoyed the folklore mixed withe mystery. The new characters a neat too and really add to this one. I love these books!
Every time I pick up one of Courtney McFarlin’s books I know I am going to enjoy just sitting back and becoming involved with her characters. Her imagination is astounding!
I love this series and the various characters. The distraction I find is all of the bad editing, if there is editing. In this particular book, one of the characters had a different name. Asher.
