This book is soooo dark that it's black! Please... Please... make sure to check your triggers before diving into this amazing masterpiece! I personally loved this book so much because the characters and storyline were so beautiful, written! It was like I was on a roller coaster that didn't want to be stopped. I was left begging for more after reading each chapter. Angel and Messiah's story was truly one of a kind that I couldn't put down! This book is not for the faint of heart and is full of gore and disturbing things. I hope you enjoy as much as I have!

Wow. I really am glad I want to read this book at the first place, because damn, it turns out to be my kind of book indeed!

I love how the gore details aren’t shied away from us readers for each and every turns. I love the opening scene so much as it gets me excited to read the whole story, as well as make me feel like I’m about to watch a good murder-revenge movie. And yup you know what, this is definitely a great murder-revenge to read - I am satisfied with how the killings were done, how the tension among everything else been carefully placed and laid out, along with how the relationship builds between the MMC & FMC - Messiah & Angel. Little that I know, they manage to be one of my favorite couple, ugh yesss I love them so much! I know Messiah will definitely get into my book boyfriend list the moment I learnt how he is (as well as he’s a hitman so that’s always a yes right away) yet then warming up to Angel as well, she’s just as lovely and they both definitely are perfect with each other I feel like I wanna hug them real tight & kiss them preciously haha. In my mind, I think my daddy Tom Hardy kinda fit for Messiah, while for Angel, I’d love one of fav girl Florence Pugh as her.

The writing and the plot growth are another wholesome to read and immersed myself with throughout the entire book. I love how even though the story are dark, this book doesn’t triggered me at all yet managed to make me giggles, feeling great, satisfied, and only all good things while reading. The revealed of who the cameraman was towards the end are also a good one! And I’m totally happy & felt content with the ending as well. Make me feel good about get to know Messiah & Angel, as well as the whole story.

Since I know not everyone have the same taste / preferences as me and our brain might not work the same, hence yes please check out the trigger warnings first before you dive into this book. I know not everyone can read dark things with open mind & heart, hell I don’t even find this story is dark at all to be honest since most of the scenes are relatable & I already imagine them too, but I’m aware that for some this book might be dark to read. So yes do check out the triggers & tropes first, if they’re not your cup of tea, or you know you don’t have the strong stomach for these things. then please skip.

Overall yes, I totally enjoy reading this wholesome book! Thank you so much for the ARC, now I already miss my Messiah & Angel - might need some fan art or something to feel them close by someday 🖤

Expect a lot of trigger warnings. The book is told from multiple point of views. Overall, this book is dark and brutal. I can understand why though. Messiah just wants Angel to be his filthy, dirty little obsession. Messiah really gets transfixed on Angel when he sees her working in a adult club. Messiah really doesn't know Angel. Angel just looks sad, skinny, and maybe lost. It's clear both Messiah and Angel have had hard lives and spent a lot of time on the streets. Can Messiah ever break through Angel's hard exterior? Both Messiah and Angel are on missions that will have them crossing paths outside the club. There is someone murdering and mutilating men on the streets of Chicago. I mean mutilating specific parts. The last 2 chapters 🤢! I don't know if I ever want to see another piece of pie in my life. That was like a twisted fairytale of a demented baker. I am still curious what the R stood for? River or revenge? This book is definitely for readers who don’t mind blood, gore, body parts, violence, and not 1 but 2 psychopaths. I think Messiah and Angel saved each other, though, in the end.

What a book i love the revenge stories and this one is amazing. I couldn't put it down its heavy on the triggers so please please read them first before diving into this masterpiece.

Messiah have a task to find someone that has been killing his bosses workers and when i mean killing i mean gore and disturbingly filthy killing and yes to all that imagination you all just had in your heads🤣❤️
Messiah likes an striper from the club he goes to and soon he find out that this one perticular women who just so small and looks boney is the one he is looking for.

Their encounter in that elevator was amazing i loved that scene i loved that their chemistry and relationship got so much better Angel opened up to Messiah and their banter was ❤️❤️

Their isn't anything that I didn't like in this book everything was just so perfect i love it ❤️❤️

After the initial shock, a little voice in the darkest part of my soul cried: Yeah, good on you girl. Isn’t that what these b*stards deserve? It was hard to determine who was the bigger psycho in this pair, but next to Angel, Messiah often seemed pretty middle of the road. Of course, given the circumstances, you could sympathize with where she was coming from. No one should have to go through something like that and the fact she survived is a testament to this girl’s inner strength, though I’m sure she would deny she was strong at all. Messiah is almost relegated to being her sidekick, but he understands why she has to do this on her own. I loved that in all this darkness, Angel found a person who not only understood her, but also loved and supported her, no matter where the road led.

This book was dark and not for the fainthearted. Make sure to check the trigger warnings because it's disturbing and gore.
Messiah gets interested in Angel because she's very mysterious. He wants to now everything about her.
Angel is keeping her distance in the beginning, but when their paths cross in a very unexpected way their story begins.
The story is catching from the beginning.
Their relationship doesn't start the traditional way. It's a great and well written storyline. And because of how the story is written, the reader is better to understand how Messiah and Angel get closer to each other.
I read the book in one go. To bad the story ended to quickly
To me this was a very great book, because I like to read dark books.

Definitely read the trigger warnings. For real, though, not just a skim and assuming you've read stuff with triggers before so it's whatever. You hit a few of them right from the start, on page one paragraph one, and the ball doesn't stop rolling there.

That being said, this was a fantastic book straight from the first line until the last. The banter is on point, the chemistry builds up and once it does, oh boy is it high, and no details are skimped at any point in the story. I also love both main characters probably more than I sounds 😅

What starts as a gritty suspense thriller soon becomes grisly and unhinged by the end. Like a car crash though, I didn't want to look away.

This is my second book by Massey (Frosted was my first) and they are completely different. There were a couple of things that made me cringe (what he did when she was in the cage - gross and not at all sexy) but for the most part, I enjoyed the story. I liked them as a team, two broken souls coming together (plenty of times 😜). I liked what they set out to do and the outcome. Not sure I could stomach pie for a while though now...

Angel and Messiah are both on vendettas and become victims of happenstance when their paths cross.

This book at its core is a love story of two individuals who have more issues than vogue. Despite the heavy topics discussed in the book, this is a fantastic story that is well written, with lots of steam, spice and revenge. The characters are relatable as they are psycho.

This will definitely be a reread for me, I loved it.

Angel and Messiah are the perfect duo of psychos together, their dark depravity, sizzling chemestry have you hooked from the start! the story is dark and twisted, hold your stomach for sure! both drawn to one another yet on their own life missions when there paths cross, nothing will be the same again. well written engaging, steamy, dark, and more.

I loved Angel & Messiah. I love a h!tman MMC and Messiah was just written so well. Angel too - i just loved her. These two have had such tough lives but seeing them come together was *perf*

If you have triggers or if you have a weak stomach this is not the book for you. I jumped in both feet first and enjoyed every last minute of this book. Angel and Messiah are definitely my kind of psycho. With all the struggles of their past I think they make an amazing team. And the graphic details in this book make it a hit for me.

Messiah and Angel are definitely broken in different ways. This is super dark... like you have no boundaries or triggers than this will work for you. This was a tough read. Parts were incredibly gory, others were hot. It's difficult to put into words the feelings this book left me with.

First things first, this was so good, I couldn’t put it down! It was deliciously dark, had a kickbutt leading lady and an even more morally gray man! I loved the fact that the author let him have so much voice, usually the males POV is limited but in this book, we get a lot of Messiah and I’m here for it. It also doesn’t take away from the POV of Angel.
I’m on way to read Kaspers book now….

WOW!!! This book was so dark but it was so good. Angel was so badass she reminded me of Lana from the mindf*ck series. Messiah and Angel were two imperfect people who were perfect for one another. Messiah was determined to win angel over. I loved how suspense filled it was and at times intense (the meat pie) lol its very entertaining and one I would def recommend if you enjoy dark romance.

I absolutely loved the idea of this story but I couldn't get into it. I felt like it details and story building wasn't there. At first I thought that maybe it was just because its a bit of a slow burn, and im not a slow burn fan. But I felt like it lacked that suspense and the mystery of it all was sort of forced.
