This book is about a boy called Danny who wins an art competition by performing an act of mischief. The book describe how Danny had stolen a painting from Gran’s blind next door neighbour Mr King. Danny’s Gran was hard to please and she always ‘grumbled’. The plot of the story is set in Grans garden when she leaves Danny in her garden to do painting as she felt ‘a boy his age should be developing his mind’. The book goes on to describe Danny’s guilt and how he felt about lying to everyone in order to get away with his action. Towards the end of the book, Danny repents his bad action by performing a sensible and honourable action, which leads to Mr King being Danny's inspiration.
