Of all the demons and monsters Samantha Moon has faced over the years, only one is unstoppable: time.

Life feels as stable as it's likely to get for her, which should have been her first warning something was about to go wrong. An out-of-the-blue call from her sister brings bad news concerning her father's health.

Ever since she went off to college, Sam has been somewhat estranged from her parents—no surprise since they never seemed to much even notice their kids' existence, leaving the eldest sister to fill the role of mother and father. Whatever notion she had to reestablish contact died with her mortal life one night in Hillcrest Park. With each year passing and her not looking older, it became more and more difficult to go visit the parents. How could she explain to them she'd become an immortal?

Would it even be worth the effort?

Since the doctor gave her father less than a month to live, she decides to return to her childhood home and say her farewells.

She's not at all expecting a dangerous supernatural infestation of her old hometown... nor the revelation of exactly how deeply Elizabeth's attempt to destroy her family truly went. A new kind of fiend threatens an innocent town, and it turns out Mom might not be as neglectful as Sam believed.

...if she can save her.

This kindle ebook is from my Kindle Unlimited account book 35 of 36

Samantha Moon's sister informs her that their father has cancer of the lungs and has a short time to live. Her and the three kids arrive to find her sister and three brothers at the family home. There is also a number of people missing. It turns out to be vampires and a demon. Samantha and two kids take care of the vampires and the demon.

Good but too short; ending felt rushed

This book is a significant improvement over the last two, but the ending felt very rushed. The story was good, the pace was good, and then suddenly everything was wrapped up in what felt like an instant. The last few books in the series have been short, novella length. It almost seems to me like the authors are just trying to rush them out and aren’t giving the full attention that was given to earlier books in the series. Or they wrote 75% of a really good story and then said, “Oh, we have to get this out so let’s just wrap it up and publish.”

Recommended for fans of the series. I give it 4/5 stars.

When Sam hears that her father has cancer with a month to live, she returns to her hometown and discovers Elizabeth left a supernatural infestation behind and Sam’s mother has been missing all these years.

Even though these stories are about the same length as other books I read, the story so is interesting and plot-driven that I seem to read them twice as fast.

Fave scenes: Gen-X technology, rescuing the hiker, finding Mack and Anthony’s astral walk.

Another Great Read!

Too short but very interesting. We readers hadn't met Sam's Mom and Dad before and this book gives us answers to so many questions. Even the many questions Sam had. And now we have to wait again for that last(?) book. But they are always well worth the wait. Thanks guys for all the answers to questions we had for so long. I would love to give every book 5 stars but again there are too many mistakes in books.

These writers are just amazing

I really have a hard time wrapping my head around what all it takes to create these stories, everything picks up right where we left off the last book. But, seems to me they just get better and better, what a fantastic story, really great job.

My favorite read!

I’ve read all 44 books and still anxiously waiting for the next on Sam’s journey. I have not like one more than another until this one. Out of 44, I love this one the most. It truly enriches the storyline. Xoxo
