As an ADHDer and ADHD Coach, it’s easy to recognise how anxiety, overthinking, procrastination, people pleasing, masking and perfectionism leave us knowing that ADHD and anxiety aren’t funny.
But being to laugh about it, do it your way and know and know and know that you are amazing is one of the best ways we can live a fun, fulfilling life. I mean, not every single minute of the day - that would be impossible and a bit weird.
This wonderful book by Sara Toninstan sums it all up AND has a lot of relatable stories which you’ll find yourself nodding your head to.
And it’s backed up by research and science which is another thing our squishy, sparkly ADHD brains love.
There were no earth-shattering revelations. Most of the advice was what you see in most books about anxiety. The author links this to the idea of neurodiversity and ADHD, which may be a reach (I'm a political psychologist, not a psychologist).
Where this book is different is that all of this advice is delivered with a touch of humor. In fact, the biggest advice seems to be that anxious individuals need to lighten up and laugh more.
I have thoroughly enjoyed this read as the author has an incredible way of making you laugh out loud while making a solid point. A must read for those who want vibrant change in their lives!
