GLITTER BATS REUNION CONCERT—SOLD OUT! When two former bandmates—and bedmates—are thrust back into each other's lives in a fake dating scheme for publicity, they'll be forced to face the music. After her recurring role in tabloid headlines, Valerie Quinn’s musical TV show is on the network chopping block. Desperate for good press, she hastily reassembles her wildly beloved pop punk band, Glitter Bats. A reunion concert could be the former lead vocalist’s ticket to a media makeover, especially if it renews public speculation around her iconic situationship with bassist Caleb Sloane. The only problem? They haven’t spoken in six years. Caleb had the makings of a rock god, but fallout from the messy Glitter Bats breakup left him broke, anxious, and resentful of the industry. But when Valerie shows up at Caleb’s doorstep with that devastating smile and a plea for help, he reluctantly agrees to put on one last show. So what if the fandom assumes the two of them are back together too? They’ll play along. You know...for the press. Making music together not only revives the harmony between them, but also the discord that led to the band’s downfall. With their futures—and the Glitter Bats—in the balance, can they survive a romantic reprise?

i should have dnf’d. as a whole, the band mates were never fleshed out, the mc’s were desperately unlikable, the plot was fanfiction gone wrong, and my interest is absolutely nowhere to be found. after seeing people talk about this, i decided to request the arc but i should’ve stayed curious 😐

thank you to netgalley and berkley for the arc in exchange for an honest review

┆ ⤿ 💌 5 stars!

I was really excited for this one! A second chance rock star music romance sounded amazing. There we a lot of great moments where you could really feel the band’s love for music and love for each other.

I loved Valerie and Caleb’s chemistry and relationship but it also continuously made me yearn. My heart hurt for everything she had to deal with the media and industry. I was crying for her at the end of the book! Overall, an easy read, I wish there was a soundtrack of the songs because there were so many of them I wanted to hear as I read!

an angsty second chance romance set to the backdrop of a band reunion? and the two lead singers were childhood friends to lovers until they broke each other’s hearts??? and they’re in a pop punk band????

truly this book felt like it was made for me in some aspects. caleb, our short king, was down bad for valerie but she really blew it. when they finally reunite with the rest of the band, the tension was through the ROOF. each harboring what they thought was unrequited feelings for each other exploded as they found their way back to each other.

I loved the music and band dynamics in this! it really felt authentic and fun and I loved the addition of mixed media (fanfic, blog and news posts, and the interviews). at points it was reminding me a bit of daisy jones and the six but heavier on the romance.

the forgiveness journey between not only caleb and valerie but also between the rest of the band was really well done. each character had to really work for it.

what didn’t work for me in this book was the third act conflict. I felt like it completely shattered all of the slow character development we were seeing as the story progressed. and then boom it happens and it pissed me off tbh.

the romance stole the show and caleb’s anxiety journey was really well done. I loved the therapy rep in this. valerie is casually bi too and that rep was really well done.

thank you so much berkley romance & netgalley for the arc!

🎶 Reunited and it feels so good. Or does it? 🤨

📖 The Glitter Bats—a once-popular pop punk band—had a messy breakup six years ago. Now, former Glitter Bats vocalist Valerie Quinn is desperate to save her TV career after some bad press. Will a Glitter Bats reunion be her saving grace? Or will this reunion be more than any of the bandmates can handle? One thing's for certain... the chemistry between Valerie and bassist Caleb Sloane is as electric off stage as it is on stage! ⚡

💭 Ok.... This gave me some serious Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham vibes. Anyone else? 👀

This second chance romance was a fun (and SPICY) backstage pass into the music world! I always appreciate a music themed book, and I really loved the dynamic (and the DRAMA) between the bandmates as they navigated working together after so long apart. The relationship between Valerie and Caleb was complicated, but I enjoyed going along on this journey with them as they unpacked their history and got to know each other again.... And again... And again. 🔥

Admittedly, Valerie is not the most likeable protagonist at first, but that wasn't a deal breaker for me because that's real life, right? People are messy and flawed, and fortunately her character growth redeems her. Caleb, on the other hand, is a sweetheart, and I enjoyed his character from start to finish.

🎧 The audiobook was mostly a positive experience. Helen Laser's performance is fabulous, as always, and Mx Nicky Endres (who narrated the "extras" like blog + news bits) is equally wonderful! Oddly enough, Colton Woods (who does Caleb's chapters) voices Caleb really well, but his side character voices left me scratching my head at his tone choices. 🧐

Overall, a solid debut! I'll definitely be picking up whatever James writes next!

Even if I decided to overlook how utterly annoying Valerie was, I can't look past how idiotic it was for them to still publicize their engagement. Like come onnnn, what was the point of the entire book then?!!! Have we learnt NOTHING?!! I was so irritated.

I'm not even planning to read the sequel because none of the other band members were fleshed out enough for me to care. Not to mention that a lot of the plot and characters used to drive the plot were so unbelievable they bordered on cartoonish, I just don't think I can sign up for more of that.

so, my conundrum is that i really loved how the author described music, and chemistry between the leads, and the friendship group, but i really hated the TSwift references (this is a pop punk band, i don't get it at all) and overall the pop culture references and pacing were not for me.

I am also not a huge fan of included materials like fake interviews, articles, tweets, etc etc to build out the past (a la Daisy Jones sort of) and it was all pretty skippable to me.

i know certain readers will love this, i just didn't.

I am convinced Jessica James sparkles magic into her words because I don't know how else to explain how I heard the music and felt the chemistry of the Glitter Bat's stage presence.

Valerie Quinn feels the pressure of the chopping block when she realizes that her only tie to "fame"might not be renewed for the next season. To up her image and generate hype (and ultimately save her show), Valerie plans the reunion of the Glitter Bats, her band that vanished from the public eye mid-tour six years ago. She knows that this also means reaching out to Caleb Sloane, a particular Glitter Bats bandmate that fans speculate as the source of the band's disappearance. This book takes on a dual-POV and switches between Valerie Quinn and her bandmate Caleb Sloane. For One Night Only blends the lively, heartful band elements of 'Daisy Jones & the Six' and the second chance romantic tension from 'People We Meet on Vacation'.

I am always hesitant when it comes to books with musical plot points because I feel like a lot of it has to do with HOW the author portrays the music on pages to make it feel alive to the reader. I can say with 1000% confidence that Jessica James understood the assignment and nailed it. I was captivated reading the scenes when the band played together, the way she switched from describing the music to how the band interacted with it was mesmerizing. The band! I loved how this story wasn't just about Val and Cal, it brought Keeley, Jane, Riker, and even Wade. Everyone had a place and it felt like they added to the story and I would even say there wouldn't be a story without them. Loved the found family element and found myself tearing up from the band interactions as well as Val and Cal's story.

The reason why this book was a 5 star for me is because of the exploration into the depth of the characters like Caleb and the mental health representation and the relationship conflict between Val and her mom. First for Cal, I appreciated the anxiety that went beyond the nerves of performing on stage. Also the nods to financial dependency and being forced to mature early made his character that much stronger. The relationship between Val and her mom had me screaming and raging for her. There were so many factors that were folded into this story and it was handled beautifully. We never stop growing and changing and the way each character approached that change was beautiful.

Last but not least! The mixed media. Jessica James your attention to detail will not go unnoticed!!! I absolutely loved the mixed media in this book and the world building was PEAK. The lyrics to the band music were like precious poetry breaks! I AM A GLITTERBUG!!! These pieces made me feel like the author wrote this as a love letter to being a fan and made this so special.

Such an amazing strong debut from Jessica James and I will be on the lookout for more her writing in the future. Thank you so much to Berkley and NetGalley for an e-arc of this book! #CalErie #GlitterBats5ever

This was a standout second chance, rockstar, dual POV debut that had unexpectedly great mental health (anxiety and panic attack) rep in the MMC. I really enjoyed this on audio and would highly recommend it for fans of Daisy Jones and the Six. Great narration by Mx Nicky Endres, Helen Laser and Colton Woods truly made the audiobook an excellent experience. Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early digital copy and @prhaudio for a complimentary ALC in exchange for my honest review!

This book feels like akin to Miley Cyrus or Bella Thorne fan fic except make it pop punk. And it’s a mess. Crippling anxiety and other valid mental health issues conveniently make appearances to justify characters’ inconsistent actions and questionable decisions. And if they’re not focused on their anxiety, they’re horny. I really liked the premise but the execution left me really exasperated.

OKAY so I wish I had more courage to DNF this. But I will be clear about what I liked and didn’t like.
I was fond of the angst and longing between Valerie and Caleb. It felt like I was watching a movie where two strangers still so clearly in love with each other desperately try to run away from their feelings. It was quite hilarious to read about them going back and forth to fight the tension and lingering chemistry. I am a firm believer that you can’t be friends with your ex so their banter and dynamic together were fucking romantic.

However, I just wish that the other characters were more fleshed out. Considering that this book is about a former band getting back together, they felt a lot like side characters instead. They didn’t get enough page time for the readers to enjoy as we didn’t exactly have much to work with. There’s so many unresolved plot points in the other characters. I expected character development from all sides of the story and not just the two perspectives this book was told from. Valerie also annoyed the hell out of me because of how selfish and childish she was and I truly feel like this story should’ve ended differently. I had high expectations for this book but it was poorly written and unfortunately quite cringe to me.

Really disappointed I did not like this one more. It seemed right up my alley. But it definitely had an audience! The author repeated many phrases that stood out like “biting her lip” and “swallowed thickly” which took me out of the story because I couldn’t stop seeing them. The characters also felt really immature for people in their late 20s…I don’t know. I struggled I’m sorry!!

I really enjoyed this book! I listened to the audiobook which was done so so well with three narrators, one for each character and then one for the interstitial news, truly so binge-worthy I read this book in basically one sitting! I loved Valerie and Caleb’s story, how both of these people crashed back together on stage after a whirlwind summer rehearsing for their band, the Glitter Bats, reunion concert. A true second chance romance as these two people had to navigate through their issues, unpack what went wrong, and resolve to be better for eachother. I also ADORED the cast of characters, specifically the band, the ensemble brought so much life to this story. Overall One Night Only is a a fun, swoony rockstar romance filled with second chances, found family, and music that will make your heart soar.

I loved this second chance romance and fictional band reunion debut novel! Valerie and Caleb were meant to be and I loved them reuniting and connecting again as musicians and lovers. I also really enjoyed reading about the rest of their band. It has been compared to Julie and the Phantoms and now I really want to watch that show! This book brought me back to my days of going to concerts in high school/college and being part of a student-run concert organization. The parts about a fandom trying to bring back Valerie’s canceled show reminded me of my days spent campaigning to save Sanditon so I think my Sanditon friends will enjoy this book. Thank you to author Jessica James for giving me a chance to read this book early and being so kind to me in our interactions. I think this is a book I will reread often.

Thank you @berkleyromance for the free book!

This was such a fun celebrity band romance! I was totally sucked into the world of the Glitter Bats and all the drama that comes with being a part of the music industry.

I listened to the audio and enjoyed the dual narration for the parts of Valerie and Caleb. The narrators brought so much life to these two former band and bedmates, truly highlighting the push and pull of attraction between these two.

I loved that the story was interspersed with social media reactions from the band’s fans. Seeing how they debated the news of Calerie (were they ever really an item), the band’s devastating breakup, and the announcement of a reunion show, these threads added fun (and necessary background) to this story.

I do wish we had gotten to know their fellow bandmates better, but I’m sure this will happen as the Glitter Bats series progresses! I’m excited to see where it goes!

This was a delightful and whimsical romance. If you’re a music enthusiast, this is the perfect romance for you. It’s about two members of a band called Glittering Bats, which, by the way, is an excellent band name. They fell in love, but things went awry, leading to the band’s breakup. Now, they’re getting back together—both the band and the couple. I adore second-chance romances, and this one didn’t disappoint. I thoroughly enjoyed the audiobook; it truly brought the story to life. Jessica James has become a must-read author for me.

Thank you so much to Berkley Romance for the advance copy of this book!
Thank you so much to the author Jessica James for having me on her traveling arc tour!

This book will be out Jan 7th, 2025.

"If the media sees me as a thunderstorm, he was always the sunshine streaming through the clouds after the rain, light shining on everyone around him.

This book had everything I could ever want in a contemporary romance. I had heard this book months ago after fellow author Alicia Thompson raved about it. Even though I never had the "look" of a scene kid, I was very into emo/pop punk music of the mid 2000s. So this scratch that itch as I don't believe there has every been a book about an indie pop punk band.

The book is told from two point of views - one from Valerie our fearless lead singer and the other from Caleb our strong and quiet bass player. Valerie is our FMC who is going through a lot. Her tv show is on the brink of cancellation, her reputation isn't the best and she feels in order to get in the good graces of the media she wants to reunite her old band The Glitterbats (sound familiar Justin Timberlake *cough*).

The tension between the group members is felt through the book. Some have stayed in touch more than others. We do learn why the group disbanded seemingly out of nowhere 6 years prior.

Valerie. Oh Valerie. She meant so well but just went about things wrongly. She was under so much pressure being a female entertainer and having everything she does scrutinize by everyone. She needed this reunion to work. She felt like she was out of options to rehab her career. I really loved Valerie as a character. She was complex but also wasn't afraid to let loose. I thought the way Jessica wrote the relationship between the female characters was so well done.

I loved the other band members! Even though we did not get their point of view specifically, we got to know more about them in each of the views. Keely was such a firecracker and told it as it is. I would like to say she was the unofficial spokesperson for the band. She was not afraid of stand up to Valerie. Riker like Caleb was quiet but together they complimented one another. Lastly Jane who was the mediator of the group. She always was the voice of reason whenever disagreements would happen. She had a beautiful soul.

"Every time she smiles it hits me, how lucky I am to be in her orbit. But it's never just been an orbit. We collide, again and again, like two stars in an explosion of light and color.

Caleb and Valerie. These two lovebirds. Caleb and Valerie were childhood friends turn bandmates turn lovers into strangers and then lovers again. They had quite a ride throughout the book. But one thing that rang true is the love and respect they had for each other. They would absolutely do anything for one another. So when Valerie shows up at his door and asks him to be apart of the reunion, even if he had hesitation, he knew he could not say no to her. I love the two of them together and knowing their history it just makes you want them to work things out.

I just wanted to squeeze Caleb. He just came off as the sweetest man. He wanted to leave this world behind him and was content with teaching but being back in the scene brought all these complicated feelings back to him. I loved his relationship with the other band members and the glimpses we got to see of him with his family.

One minor trait that Jessica gave Caleb is that he is a short king! I absolutely love that! Most male characters/love interests are tall and muscular but he is short but his confidence makes him appear taller.

"I could live a hundred lifetimes and never deserve Caleb Sloane."

There is some mixed media between the chapters. I normally am not a big fan of them but in this I didn't mind it. I would also have been okay if it wasn't in the book either. I do want to check out the audio of this to see how some of it translate as there are moments where the lyrics are shown.

I just ate this book up and didn't want to stop reading. The book gave me elements from Julie & the Phantoms (which i was so happy the author mentions them in the acknowledgements), Daisy Jones, Tessa Bailey's Wreck My Plans, Laura Hankin's The Daydreams and the style of the 80s Barbie and the Rockers. Other reviews also mentioned Jem (I did not watch this growing up). So if those are your jam - give this one a try! Plus who doesn't love a second chance romance!

This book gave me major Daisy Jones vibes which I loved! I'm such a fan of bands and musicians in books and this was no exception. The Glitter Bats were a lot of fun to read about and I am obsessed with how they came up with the name.

The interstitial parts of the story were so fun and worked great on the audio. I love fan culture so it was so much fun seeing those elements of the band.

The romance didn't entirely work for me. It was cute and thought their chemistry was decent (love a mic sharing moment), but the second chance didn't entirely work for me. I thought a bit more work needed to be done on their own parts before coming back together.

Valerie was a bit difficult to like at times and her impulsive action at the end didn't entirely work for me/make sense. I did like her in the end, but I would've liked to see her work on herself a bit more.

I did really love Caleb. I love the idea of a teacher who used to be a rockstar and tbh feel like that would also be a great plot line for a book. I thought he forgave Valerie a bit too easily (which is why second chance is not my trope of choice bc I'm petty and hold grudges). But he was a sweetie and I loved his family & dog.

The audiobook was also great. The narrators were good (with the exception of the male narrator when he did any voice that was not Caleb's!).

Overall, I thought this was super solid for a debut novel. I liked the writing and was engaged in the story.

As a disclaimer Jess and I have followed each other on social media for years and I've followed her writing journey the whole time. I'm so proud of her for writing a book and getting it published that while I tried to be objective in my review there is bias in it since I'm so happy for her. So keep that in mind while reading.

*thanks to PRH audio for the copy; all thoughts are my own*

Devoured this book in 24 hours!! It’s giving daisy jones and the six but make it punk rock and the plot following the band reuniting for one last concert.

I absolutely LOVED the plot of this book. Following the band and seeing them all reunite after six years of a bad ending.. had my attention grabbed from the start! I loved all their different personality and quirks, and how they added their own strengths to the band itself. The music lingo went over my head but I still loved it!

Valerie Quinn, while she annoyed me at times, really was a badass fmc. I loved her tenacity and strength while staying in the spotlight and being in the music industry. Caleb Sloane is a man who would do ANYTHING for the people he loves… and that (much to his dismay) included Valerie. Reading about their love re-blossoming after six years of no-contact and ending on bad terms had me !!!!!!!

An edgy, steamy, rom-com for people who hyper-fixated on Fleetwood Mac’s 1997 live performance of Silver Springs (iykyk) highly recommend!! ☺️

4.5!!!

Jessica James has a hit with this one! This was such an incredible debut and it really hit all the marks for me for what I like in a book: layered, complex female main character; strong friendships; an understandable conflict; and a couple you can't help but root for. I think if Daisy Jones & the Six wasn't your cup of tea (or even if it was!). this would be a great book for you. I really enjoyed how this really felt like an ensemble book even though we didn't get all of the POVs. I still felt like I completely understood all of them even looking at them through the eyes of our FMC & MMC. I do think that the romance in this book was more of a subplot and this book really focuses on the band repairing their relationships across the board, rather than just focusing on the main couple. This was a big plus for me in this book and I abolutely loved it, but if you are expecting a full on romance, I think it is important to know going it and I still think you will have a good time! In fact, I actually think a different romance should have been at the center of this book, or at least touched on more, and if you read this I think you'll know what I'm talking about! It wasn't touched on in the epilogue at all, which gives me hope that we may be getting more of that even if it just comes in the form of bonus content.

All in all, this was an absolute hit of a debut and I cannot wait to read more from Jessica!

**Huge thank you to Berkley for a free eARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

✨The Feels✨
This was a feel-good, second-chance romance set against the backdrop of a reunion concert. I loved the chemistry between Caleb and Valerie. Caleb was irresistibly sweet and sexy—seriously, I would let him serenade me any day. The band’s chemistry was heartwarming, and I’m always down for a music-themed romance. That said, Valerie… sigh. She often acted selfishly, and while I sympathized with her struggles in the media and music industry, her treatment of others made it hard to fully connect with her.

The conflict at the end had me beyond frustrated—I saw it coming, but I couldn’t look away, almost like watching an accident unfold. I was cringing the whole scene, but honestly, that’s a testament to how invested I was in these characters and the story. The writing really drew me in! Overall, this was an easy and engaging read.

✨The Spoiler-Free Details✨

As this is a debut author, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. I’m not always a rock star romance reader, but this one hit the spot! And I’m kind of excited that when I went to find the Amazon link, it looks like maybe, just maybe, this might turn into a series and we can get some HEAs for the other band members?

I loved that Caleb had gone home and become a teacher. Such a totally different career compared to being a rock star. Valerie and the others had all pretty much gone onto rock star adjacent jobs, or at least still with some music or fame/celebrity aspect to them. Valerie however seemed to not be doing as well as her latest show was in danger of not being renewed for another season. Not to mentions people on the show, ex-boyfriends especially, were using her – badmouthing her – on social media but really just to help their own images. So it definitely made me sympathetic to wanting to see her be able to get ahead.

While both Caleb and Valerie had issues with family – specifically their mothers – at least Caleb’s for the most part at least somewhat cared and wasn’t taking advantage of him. But Caleb also had sisters to be there for him or for him to have a reason to be there for them. Valerie really had no one for the most part. Not to mention most everyone kind of blamed her for the band’s break up. But while Caleb kind of blamed her for why he left partly, he also knew he was in a way just as much to blame for the breakup because of how he left.

Their reunion and subsequent rekindling of their relationship, even as they pretended it was just fake-dating to help with the concert was a really fun, yet emotional journey to go along with as the reader. I got to know the both of them so well, and developed both a love and hate relationship with the other members of their band. Enough so that as I mentioned above, I would love to see the rest of them get a story! Of course something had to happen to make things blow up even as it seemed they could maybe get back together, both as a couple, and maybe even the band. And even with how it seemed to totally be blown up and what a crazy way to just walk off once again, it made sense for the history between all of them, and what was hanging on the line with their former company and the contract they found an extra copy of.

In the end I like the way it all worked out. How everyone came to figure out how they really felt and how they made it up to the ones who needed that. As someone who is a major superfan of a group from my high school years, New Kids on the Block, and I consider myself a Blockhead, it was fun to read about other superfans and their much better nickname of the Glitterbugs. In fact I loved the background story on the name of Glitter Bats! I really enjoyed this story, and hope to read more by this author in the future. Especially if it is another one set in this same world!

Short synopsis: After some bad publicity, Valarie convinces her old band to get together for a reunion show.

My thoughts: I wasn’t sure what to expect with this one, but I adored the Bright fun cover. I love a celebrity romance, throw music in the mix and I’m sure to enjoy it.

This was such a fun second chance Story, a second chance at romance, second chance at stardom and fame, friendship, among other things. It took a minute for me to feel the connection between Valerie and Caleb, but I think it’s because I felt like Valerie had anterior motives the majority of the book.

I adored Caleb, the way he wanted to take care of his sisters, and get away from fame. He was teacher! What more can I say about him.

I liked the other members of the band, we got a sneak peek into their personalities which was fun. For the majority of the book i kept wondering where the name “The Glitter Bats” could have possibly come from, I laughed out loud when the reason behind the name was unveiled. I love a good Twilight reference. I could totally see myself being a fan of this band, and listening to their music!

All in all a fun debut! Can’t wait to see what else this author comes out with! Thank you @berkley and @prh for a copy of this book!

4.75 stars!!!

i actually was blown away with this book!! like it was so fun and enjoyable???? i read over 100 pages each time i sat down to read it?? so easy to jump into & fall in love with!! i'm mad i didn't read this one sooner & genuinely confused about why more people aren't talking about it!

a second chance, it's always been you, childhood friends to lovers, but they also star in a rock band that broke up six years ago . . . the DRAMA! the angst! the tension!!! the LOVE these two have for each other!! they're both sooooo obsessed!!! & they share a mic on stage [cannot express how hot this is] !!!!!!

it gives daisy jones & the six vibes too. . . cannot recommend this book enough!!!!!!!!!!!!

thank you berkley for my free book ❤️ this is my honest review.

3 stars 🌟 kinda conflicted on how i feel about this but i really enjoyed the celebrity & second chance romance aspects of valeriecaleb 🦇✨🎸 i think that the glitter bats were a cool band and i liked how they were each others found family!

i just didn’t love valerie’s tendency to rush head first into a plan and not consult literally anyone else 😭 i think i also got tired of all the apologies as well bcs they felt like they were losing meaning 😅

her and caleb were cute but idk i sped through the last 40% and tried to enjoy this as much as i could with that third act tiff 🤝

I enjoyed listening to the audiobook of this and I really liked the narrators. What sold me on picking up this book was the cover and the fact that it has a second chance, fake dating, pop punk band storyline. I do think at the same time some of the characters weren't really fleshed out and Valerie did piss me off more than once. She keeps making big decisions either on stage or in interviews and completely blindsiding the people around her and THEN it doesn't surprise me that she does the same for their engagement. I enjoyed this for what it was!

I was intrigued enough with the characters that will be in book two I think, so that'll be why I read it when it comes out.

-second chance
-forced proximity
-rockstar romance
-sneaking around

I had so much fun with this one. Sucked in both to the story of the band and the romance. This was messy in the best way. My fingers are crossed we're going to find out more about the other band mates in future books.

This is a rockstar romance and a second chance romance. I personally enjoy both of those tropes together, I think they work well together and have like the right amount of angst but not like TOO much. Valerie and Caleb have been friends forever and started their band Glitter Bats (yeah it 100% is a Twilight reference and someone might have been stoned when they came up with it) when they were young. The band got popular really fast and unfortunately had shitty management and a shitty label and some drama in the band that all lead to their inevitable split mid-tour. (definitely nothing to do with Calerie (awful ship name lol) coming to and end at the same time).

The plot of the book is that Valerie needs a reputation boost to make sure her TV show, gets renewed and has a great idea to have the band get back together for a reunion concert. They all agree for their own reasons and the majority of the book surrounds them preparing and getting to know each other again. Of course we also get V&C falling back into old habits aka each other’s beds.

I liked the audiobook. It has three narrators, one was for the bits between the chapters (articles, tweets, etc about the band) and the other two for the main characters. Helen Laser, Colton Woods, and Mx Nicky Endres. It’s worth a listen if you like audiobooks! But like I always say, read whatever format suits you best. If you could go either way, this is a solid option.

I read ARCs of this book. Got the audio from PRH Audio and ebook from NetGalley & Berkley Romance.

Very cute second chance romance. It seems as if it’s been set up for a second book too so that’s fun! I definitely think some of the miscommunication was frustrating, but it was a slightly spicy and still sweet story.
