This is the book, the guide, that I so desperately needed. My son who will be 6 soon was diagnosed almost 3 years ago as Autistic and being on the spectrum. This book was obviously written from the heart! Michael Stevens has done an outstanding job with this guide. The hard work and dedication shows throughout this detailed book. As a mom I love every section of the book. It all goes together so smoothly and easy for anyone to follow and understand. As an early childhood teacher for over 23 years I feel every teacher, caregiver or anyone period who may come across autism in their world needs to read this book. Especially teachers of all ages. It starts with a breakdown of diagnosis, understanding and start to what you need to know about your child's ASD diagnosis and what to do next. I wish I had this guide 3 years ago when I felt so lost and alone. Not only helping me but it has been extremely helpful in helping our family understand things better. He then goes into detailed explanations as well as helping us to understand all of the many different topics we as the parents face all the time with our child and others. I Love that he took the time to explain things in detail with attention to helping others understand more and be able to do more to help their child. I also believe in my opinion Autism Spectrum Disorder needs as much detail, and guide and understanding as we can get. The guide helps us to understand many topics such as creating a sensory friendly home, understanding meltdowns, emotions and behaviors, social skills and so much more. It also helped me to understand his future as well as school and medical situations that may arise. The section about meltdowns and behaviors was a huge help to me and to helping our families better understand. I highly recommend this book to every ASD parent and their family and friends. This is an essential guide so well written and created with knowledge but even more importantly with the love and understanding we all need. A Million Stars for this book! ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
As a parent with a child new diagnosed with autism and adhd this book is very informative. I am going to read it again to pick up as much insight as I possibly can.
This book is really helpful if you suspect that your child might be on the spectrum and/or if you have already a diagnosis. We just had confirmation that our son has ASD and this book makes me feel that I am not alone. It has simple and effective example of children with different level of ASD, their challenges and how they helped decreasing the challenges. Super helpful. And to know that there is a whole community to support you makes a difference. Thank you for this book, sharing your experience and challenges.
