Damn, that got dark all of a sudden. It's been a mysterious and slightly ominous but ultimately kid-friendly adventure so far, and then we're introduced to this absolutely abominable little man of a villain that goes to such visceral details to... augh. If I'd been the doctor in this scenario I might have forgotten my Hippocratic Oath about halfway through that tirade. I mean, he was asking him to hurt someone anyway. If he had to hurt a person, might as well be someone that won't be missed.

I do wish each issue had a cleaner finish, though. They all seem to end rather abruptly and with not much anything resolved. And in this particular case I really want to see what happens next.

Series Synopsis: Koma is a charming comic series about a widower chimney sweep and his daughter, oddly named Addidas (but not like the shoe!). There is some mystery and fantasy at play as (1) Addidas blacks out and has visions of a fantastical creature and (2) something about Addidas’ mother’s death that seems off. All of this is told in a colorful, whimsical art style.

Volume 4: Now that Addidas and her father have reunited, they leave the metropolis. Meanwhile the friendly monster is captured. Both parties find themselves facing new deadly challenges.

Onto Vol. 5!

another great read

Plot thickens from vol 3 and continues to build up nicely. Nice story and artwork plus charming characters. Great read.
