I loved my time in Applewood!! Recap of all four books:

Phoenix was a new member in the town when she purchased a property with a house for her and a tiny house that she would renovate and rent out as a B&B.

The day she closed on her new property she finds a dead body inside her tiny house! She takes it in her own hands to find the killer to make sure her property is safe before renting it out.

Book number two follows Phoenix on her journey to finding the killer of a man she finds on the side of the road on her way to a pumpkin festival. Her friend George, who helped decorate her tiny home in the previous book, becomes one of the top suspects for his death. Phoenix does everything to prove him not guilty and find the real murderer.

Book number three follows Phoenix as she tries to uncover what happened to their local ice cream truck driver. The beloved Lottie. This book also introduced Phoenix’s overbearing, but funny and kind of clueless parents. When she finds out she is in some way related to Lottie she does not give up until the murderer is found!!

And for book number four, the final in the series. My least favorite actually, but still good. Phoenix has her B&B up and running for the Christmas season. They are hosting an ice sculpting contest when the schools principal is brutally killed with the heavy tools used in the contest. Phoenix starts to take blame because she’s the reason the town is having the contest in the first place, so she’s the reason the tools were out unsupervised. Phoenix obviously didn’t do it, but deep down felt she had something to do with it since this was all her idea. She was falling apart. Has to get to the bottom of it.

All in all, loved this series! My first cozy mystery and I skated through the 4 books. Totally recommend.
