Violent Violet is the story of a young woman who has suffered great loss at a young age. She tries to fill the void by hiding her feelings and carrying on as a snippy bada$$ to everyone when she's actually reeling on the inside from grief.

Then, sexy, mysterious Roman (my new book boyfriend) walks into her life and she slowly begins to wake up. She can be her real self around him because he sees through her act and likes the real deal Violet better than the image she projects.

But something dark and sinister is going on behind the veil that Roman wants to protect Violet from, but who or what is it? Violet wonders what Roman does in his spare time and where he comes from? Why does she keep having disturbing vampire dreams?

This was a book I could not put down.
The world building is so well done, I can actually picture where the characters live and hang out. And I feel all the emotions along with them. I actually can't wait to start book two.

What a great book. As with any self-published book, the editing and formatting does need a little adjusting, but otherwise this is probably one of the best self-pub books I have read. A wild ride, with a significant character development twist at the end! I do look forward to continuing this series!

I could hardly put the book down once I started. Captivating and suspenseful, rich character development, eternal subject matter. And lots of good goth references for us (former) scene-sters.

Be warned, this story is compulsive reading! I was hooked from the start, I'm not generally a reader of paranormal romance, But the writing is fresh & fast paced & I quickly wanted to know more. Violet is not your typical heroine. she can be nasty and sarcastic. but she has hidden depths, beneath the hard ass exterior she puts up to keep the world at bay.
The story unfolds in an elaborate & detailed way allowing you to feel fully immersed & part of the action from the start. Very much like a fly on the wall, you get to observe the characters lives close up experiencing it all yourself as if you're there. Taking you on a roller coaster ride through Violet's world, moving, & utterly compelling, full of emotional tug of wars. Coupled with unexpected twists and turns, Every character, feels fully dimensional & entirely relatable. I felt I could easily become friends with Violet & her closest friends. All the way through I felt invested & wanted to prompt the characters when they were making choices based on their personal insecurities. When I finished the book, it was very hard getting back to mundane reality, I could happily live in Violet's world  I fell in love with Violet & Roman & couldn't wait to find out what happens next. I desperately needed to read more! So the next Violet book was a must have. I look forward to seeing Violet grow as her story continues throughout this series!

Violent Violet was my very first Paranormal Romance read. I really enjoyed this book - the characters are interesting and the story unfolds in a dramatically unique way. If you love elaborate details, and plenty of twists and turns this book is for you!

Vanflower's writing is fresh, flawless, captivating... almost hypnotic and you will experience each and every emotion.

And wait until you meet Roman, hello sexy and mysterious man! Yes Please.

If you have never read paranormal romance Violent Violet is fantastic introduction to the genre. Well Done!

I must admit that I picked up this book mostly because I'm a huge fan of Tara's band, Lycia, and I was curious to know if her writing was as good as her singing. I still feel very emotionally attached to the goth sentiment, but I've outgrown goth/punk stories and have never been into vampires.

The book is actually nice though. I love independent books: they're the best and most sincere company if well written – this one is. It's a light read and I was expecting more vampire stories, truth be told. Somehow I always wanted to know what was coming next, and that stuck me to reading. Also, I didn't grow up in the US so it was nice to read about living in America as a young adult.

I loved all the musical references. There was a clear one to Type O Negative (p. 28), and after that, in my head I started to picture Violet in the way I've always imagined Little Miss Scare-All to be; and of course, Roman became Peter Steele – I'm not sure this was done on purpose, but I mean, their appearances are very alike. Plus I've been on a huge kick on Type O Negative ever since, which is always a good thing.

I'll definitely read the other books in the series. I want to know stuff now. I want to know what happens next and what happened before!

I had the absolute pleasure of getting to format this book for its re-release and it was such a joy to sit down and read.

It was dark, it was captivating, and the prose was so engaging.

It was an exceptionally quick read for a book of its length, and I found that I loved the main character so much. While one *could* argue that the end is abrupt, this is eased plenty by knowing there is a second one just waiting to be delved into.

Warning! You will want to read this book in one sitting, which I pretty much did. I was completely able to relate to Violet and why she was so mad at the world. I loved the dynamic between her and Roman, looking forward to the rest of the series!

It was good, but to be honest it reminded me too much of a stage of my life that I have long since passed.
