My life revolved around my brothers, the club, and pussy - I had no need for anything else. But trouble flies in with a sharp mouth and haunted eyes, and suddenly I have someone else to care about. I didn’t want her. I never expected her. But sometimes, fate has a way of throwing you a curve ball, and mine was called Mia. When an enemy surfaces, she’s caught in the crossfire, and I have to do everything I can to make sure she’s safe. Even if that means letting her go.
This Motorcycle Club romance contains triggers. Prepare yourself baby trapping and forced pregnancy, possessive MMC, touch her and die, gratuitous sex and violence.
Ruthless Son’s was my first time reading one of Kam’s novels and I’ll definitely be reading more. I loved the character development, it has me intrigued and ready for more books from the Street Kings world. The chemistry between Rex and Mia 🤌🏼, he was determined he was going to keep her by any means necessary. This was a slow burn but the build up is so worth it once the spice hits. 🥵 Filled with action from beginning to end.
Ruthless Son was the first book I’ve read of Kam London’s novels, but it definitely won’t be the last. Rex and Mia have so much chemistry I felt it and the plot and character development was on point. I love that the characters are in their 30s and have lived a little life already. Rex will do anything to keep Mia and I loved the slow burn with instant chemistry. I will definitely continue to read MC stories and can’t wait to read more from the Street Kings! Thank you for the ARC!
If you enjoyed the S.O.A. TV show, you would love this book! It was a quick and easy read. I wanted more from the ending because it seemed tied together much too quickly. I think this book could have been flushed out into another 50 - 100 pages to give the concept its full room to breathe.
Holy. Freaking. Crap. Action from the get out. It's not super spicy, lots of amazing characters and banter. It's the whole 9 yards. Seriously, such an incredible story, I'm already dying for book 2. I'm absolutely going to be singing this series praises to anyone who will listen. Do yourself a favor and run to read it. I wish I could give more than 5 stars because this book freaking deserved it.
Wow! The tensions, the connection, just everything about this book was so good! This is the first book of Kam London’s I’ve read, it will not be the last! I can’t wait to see where the series goes next.
This for sure was an interesting read. If you're looking for a good slow burn (spice didn't come until 66% into the book), this is definitely a book for you. Also, if you enjoy motorcycle clubs, this is for sure your jam.
Here you meet Mia, who is a nurse from England, who's now in Ohio after she received a call from her dad letting her know that her sister had been in an accident. Upon arriving at the hospital, and dealing with a nasty receptionist, she was also met with a lobby full of biker men. One who seemed to catch her eye. Insert Rex.
Rex is a part of the Street Kings of Ohio where he's the sergeant of arms, and he takes his roll rather seriously. His MC own a funeral home, but that's not their main means of profit. They actually deal drugs. But someone starts messing with their drugs and people start ☠️, and Mia's sister knows who may be the one in charge of it all.
This gives Rex a reason to keep Mia close to him, and let me tell you, Rex is determined to make Mia his and he will take any steps necessary (which he for sure is unhinged).
I enjoyed getting to know the characters in this book. I loved Mia very much and also loved Sly who was Rex's best friend and Cal and Jenna who is the president and his old lady. I was not a huge fan at all of Rex. I don't think it mentioned a villain trope in here, but he's definitely a villain lol. He was an extremely hard character to like, which made it hard since there wasn't really a growth in the relationship with Mia and Rex. He did have some good qualities at time, but sadly they were overshadowed by his personality. That did not deter me from enjoying the book. I devoured it and couldn't put it down.
Please mind your triggers when you read this. There are things in here that maybe be triggering to some. I recommend this read.
My first thought after reading this : HOLY BABY TRAPPING!!!
This is a MC Romance with a bit of spice, angst and suspense.
Mia is a nurse over in England when she gets a call that her little sister is in the hospital in Ohio. She hurries and jumps on the first flight to get to her sister who she hasn't heard from or seen ever since she left with her crappy boyfriend. When Mia gets to the hospital, she is met with a rude receptionist who is content with not allowing her to see her sister before visiting hours end and a room full of bikers.
Rex is the Sgt. At Arms for the Street Kings of Ohio. When he isn't in his cut, he is working in the funeral home that is run by the MC. This allows for them to deal drugs in and out without being caught. When they notice that people in their town are dropping like flies, they realize that someone is tampering with their supply. Leading to the MC to sniff out a rat.
Rex immediately is drawn to Mia, not just by her beauty, but because she can handle her own and doesn't deal with BS. Rex falls fast and hard for Mia and won't stop at ANYTHING to keep Mia from going back home to England. Even if it means for Mia to hate him.
4.5 Stars 3 Peppers (only because of the forced pregnancy aspect)
This is a fun story. You are in Ohio, you have bikers, one is obsessed with the woman visiting, and all heck is breaking loose. I have read motorcycle club books before and I compare most to Sons of Anarchy for the vibe alone, but this one feels like it could have been an episode or two. The MC is having problems in their territory and Rex is doing what he can to help find the source. There is murder and mayhem. Among all the trouble is Mia, a visitor only here to check on her sister, who has gotten mixed with some bad people and gotten herself hurt. The sisterly bond is beautiful in this book. Rex falls fast and hard for the English Princess and does everything in his power to keep her, yes, even forcing her into a choice she probably would not have made on her own. The epilogue was cute and I can't wait to read the next book.
Holy crap! Tell me you live a book with out actually telling me you live a book. Theres no way you can’t without actually saying u love it. I mean who wouldn’t love a book with action straight from the start of the book. This book isn’t super spicy but that’s ok. There’s a lot of amazing characters and banter in this book. This book is the whole 9 yards and more if that is even possible Such an amazing story, I'm already thirsting for book 2 I want them now. I know one thing I will be recommending this series to anyone who will listen. Trust me add this to your TBR you won’t be disappointed. I wish I could rate more than 5 stars for this book but unfortunately they don’t give us that luxury.
Ruthless Son by Kam London is a motorcycle romance novel. Thank you Kam London for writing a book about people in their 30s and not 20s. I do not mind those at all but every once and awhile it’s nice to get a book with more mature characters. I adored the main characters and the side ones as well. The plot was interesting and action packed. While the insta love (one sided) romance was a slow burn it was intense and the chemistry was lit up. Mia meets Rex the Sgt at Arms for the MC Club the Street Kings when she comes to see her sister after something happens. He instantly knows ahead of time she is for him but she is not so sure. Of course at the same time there are other club matters going on. This book was an excellent MC book and I am looking forward to reading more in the series.
Ruthless Son is an MC Romance novel. The plot of the story is continuously moving. Ruthless son lays the foundation for an interesting plot overarching multiple books. The book doesn't end of a cliffhanger, but the Kings MC have a threat that can be the catalyst for the Kings to land in even hotter water. Rex and Mia are established adults. Mia's a nurse coming from the United Kingdom to America after learning her sister has been hurt in a car accident. Rex is an educated enforcer for the club that is sometimes too smart for his own good. Rex and Mia's intelligence and wit complement each other. Their love story is a slow burn, but well worth the wait.
This was an interesting read. First off, this is a MC gang romance. I will say that it seems like most of the story is MC gang first, and romance second. We do get an early introduction with the fmc and mmc, but it doesn’t really start to pick up til later on.
I don’t think it was bad. But there were definitely some parts that were a little fast moving for my liking. Besides some sexual attraction, I had to doubt if there was any actual connection between them. I would have loved to see some more within the plot of the two together and them truly getting a chance to know each other. They did have a HEA, and that’s all I can really ask for.
This is a slow-burn, M/F contemporary, MC (Motorcycle Club) romance book with a little suspense and some angst.
I so appreciate that the MMC and FMC are both mature characters in their 30s and that majority of the auxiliary characters are in the same age range as well.
Mia, the FMC, an A&E (aka ER) nurse travels from the UK to Ohio, USA after the news that her younger sister (10 year age difference) was involved in an accident that required surgery and she is currently incapacitated.
Rex, the MMC, is immediately taken with not only Mia’s stature and beauty, but her intelligence and ferocity which he witnesses first hand when he happens to be at the hospital at the same time.
From there, it seems as though the universe keeps putting them in each other’s path, but is it fate or something more devious?
CAUTION : I recommend checking the content warnings on this one. Particularly the forced pregnancy (it’s actually reproductive coercion), so if that is something that makes you uncomfortable I encourage you to check your mental wellbeing as only you know what you can handle.
Even though this is a slow-burn, the MMC and FMC’s chemistry is palpable and the tension between them is well-written making it so when they finally do get together it is very rewarding.
I look forward to the next installment in the Street Kings of Maynard County series.
The first in a new set of connected standalone MC romances, Ruthless Son follows Rex, Mia, and the turbulent beginning of their relationship.
This isn't a dark romance so much as a romance with dark story themes and sub plots, although there are some romance based TW's so do check. It's an insta-lust, he-falls-first with a fun opposites attract trope between the big tough American biker and the petite British nurse.
It's this trope that gives the story its interesting writing element. It's a dual POV, and you can really see an big difference between the tones and writing styles from each POV; it really highlights the character differences and isn't something I've seen done with this big of a difference. Big points here.
With the wider story, there's so much here to explore in the later books. There's so many side characters with promise, and wider plot points that need exploring (what about Millie and Kannon!?). There's some fun little twists as well, the very subtle little hints to Mia's family background lead into the conclusion very well.
On the romance, it's sweetly written where it can be, and hard hitting when it needs to be. The TW content leaves me unsure on Rex, I don't know if he is an a-hole or just misguided; what he is though is lucky that Mia's forgiving and smitten. I do wonder how he was between the final chapter and the epilogue to smooth things over.
Overall, I enjoyed this a lot, I'm definitely interested for the rest of the series and MC romance overall now.
This was an absolutely amazing read i loved the characters especially that the female character was feisty and full of spunk and i also liked how possessive Rex was over Mia. So, can't wait to read about the next character in the Street Kings of Maynard County these guys in this MC drew you in. There were some steamy scenes, and this is full of twist and turns and lots of action and all kinds of different emotions.
..... and I read it through. Enjoyed the plot and characters. Author has good writing ability with no errors I found: grammar, vocab - spot on. That, for me, makes for good reading! Some questions that left me hanging in the plot though, with no answers in sight --- did the sister, Millie, fly on home to England? And what of her and Kannon? He was not mentioned anymore after she arrived to the house?
First book read from Kam London & I was not disappointed. Mia & Rex were great MCs and the chemistry was there from the jump! Not gonna lie I was upset with Rex trying to trap my girl - did not see that coming! I am still curious if there is a Rat in the Street Kings - i feel that was never answered and what happen to Millie? did she get on the plane? what about Kannon? I do hope for a second book with these characters - overall great read.

I’m hooked! This is the first time reading Kam London and it did not disappoint. From forced proximity to Alphahole that makes SO many mistakes you really don’t want to like him but he redeems himself. So all in good in my little motorcycle club fantasy world. Slow burn and the sexy scenes aren’t over the top. Looking forward to the next book in the series.
This was a slow burn with the two main characters but something was constantly happening all around them. I love a good MC story where the guy falls first and this didn’t disappoint. Rex was going to do whatever necessary to keep his sexy little Brit to himself. Drama, action and passion was packed into this book.
Mia was sassy and I loved her comebacks when she was at clubhouse. She is protective and strong and helping her sister she was going do whatever she had to. Rex was taken with her and she was his, she just didn't know it yet. My first read by Kam London and a good MC read with twists, heat and action.
Ruthless Son is an MC Romance novel. This entertaining and engaging MC Romance has drama, humor, chemistry, steam, action, and defined characters. Rex and Mia have an intriguing story. While the romance was a slow burn, it was intense and the chemistry was lit up. I loved the slow burn and watching things unravel. I am so excited to read where this series goes next!
Story of Rex and Mia. Mia is over from England to see her baby sister who’s been involved in a car accident and somehow gets involved with Rex and the Street Kings.
I’m assuming that although there’s a HEA for the main characters, the storyline continues in the next books in the series as there’s quite a few loose ends that need sorting out.
New to this author & really enjoyed this book & hoping Kam publishes more. Unplanned meeting in a hospital when Mia travels from England to the U.S.A to be with her sister who was hospitalized due to an accident. MC, floer shops, funeral parlors, drugs, murders, kidnappings, etc. This book has it all to keep you reading. Highly recommend. (Reviewed by Lin)
This was my first time reading one of Kam's books, and it was outside my usual genre. That being said, I enjoyed this book. It's a slow burn, and I feel like there could have been a little more chemistry between the mcs. I'm also interested in Millie and Kannon's story.
Absolutely loved this book. I enjoyed the character building and the storyline. Rex and Mia's relationship is so good, and you become invested in them. Possessive bikers, forced proximity, Mafia activities, forced pregnancy and spice....what more can you want!
Rex and Mia have an intriguing story. I loved the interactions and banter, along with all the tension and chemistry. This MC romance had the right mix of angst, suspense, heat and action. I am so excited to read where this series goes next
This entertaining and engaging MC Romance has drama, humor, chemistry, steam, action, and defined characters. The defined MCs are likable, determined, OTT, and deserve a HEA. I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my honest review.
This book was great. I loved the tension, the chemistry, just everything was amazing. I was so excited when this came out and I couldn’t wait to devour it. I loved the slow burn and watching things unravel. Kam has me hooked.
This was my first time reading anything by Kam London, and I gotta say it was an experience I would love to repeat. This book is packed with lots of action, banter between the two main characters, and drama. I can’t wait for book two to come out! 🥰
I loved this book from start to finish. The main character's are funny, witty and definitely hot. I can't wait for the story to continue and find out how Mia and Rex are getting on. I'm out for book 2.
