A kidnapped man. A biker with a secret. A love that could ruin them both—or save them.

Iggie
I chase red flags like they’re mile markers—racing straight into the wreck every damn time. So when Steel, the president of Hell’s Mayhem MC, walks into my store with danger in his eyes and sin in his smile, I already know I’m screwed. What I don’t expect… is to feel safe. But safety’s a lie. Because the real threat? It’s coming fast—and none of us see it until it’s too late. Now I’m caught in the crossfire, and the only way out might just be the man I should’ve run from the moment he said my name.

Steel
Leading a motorcycle club teaches you how to spot trouble. And Iggie? He’s trouble wrapped in sass and something I never thought I’d find again—hope. I shouldn’t get close. But when danger crashes into our lives from a place none of us expect, I make a choice. To protect him. To fight like hell. To claim what’s mine—no matter what it costs.

Iggie and Steel

This was entertaining to read. Iggie and Steel seem like they shouldn't work well together but they really were perfect.

I received an ARC and this is my unbiased opinion

Enjoyed this one. There was an instant attraction between Iggie and Steel. Just from looking at him Steel knew that Iggie was the man for him and he was not shy about making it known.

Iggie was such an adorable character. I absolutely love him. He just seems like he has such a good vibe being around him will make you feel better about ur day. He's a sweetheart. Steel was more soft than I thought he was going to be. Don't get me wrong this man will not hesitate to hurt you if you mess with him, Iggie or his club but when it comes to his behavior with Iggie he was a gentleman. He was sweet, he listened and he was respectful. Also I do wanna say I admire him for being able to admit to his wrongdoings in the past and working on himself to change.

The best thing about this entire book was how Steel is running his MC Club. I'm pretty sure this is my first MC book were they have women AND men around to "pleasure " everyone. Also how they take consent very seriously, definitely seems like he made the club safe for everyone regardless of gender or sexuality and I LOVEEEE THAT.

The club took in Iggie like he was one of their own just bc their president was in love with him 🥺🥺🥺

The big problem that happened didn't catch me by surprise at all. I knew from that first ??? Chapter exactly who that rotten person is.

Again really enjoyed this one. A lot of the side characters definitely stood out to me and would love their story one day 🫶🏼

I loved this story about a store toy sales manager and the local president MC. Iggie was a warm hearted sweet man that just loved helping everyone. Steel the MC president is strong leader for his bike club and likes to give back to the community. Steel falls first and Iggie is attracted but cautious because Steele is a biker.
The author did a wonderful job building the story where everything flowed and we got to know the background of our characters feelings. Fantastic story.

Cassie has a way of writing that pulls you in. Time and time again, she writes a story that has so much passion and emotion poured into the pages.

Steel is the prez of Hell's Mayhem MC and tends to be a bit over the top where his emotions are involved.

Ignatius, or Iggie as his friends call him, is just a regular guy working up the chain of a command at a local department store. He's guarded and hesitant to let anyone who isn't his best friend in. He's got some quirks, but they make him all the more likable.

There's some twisty twists that I kind of saw, but not to the extent they happened.

Also, the ending had me desperately trying to turn the page for more. It wasn't there but hopefully will be soon.

LOVING STEEL

I loved this book. It was so different to all other MC books I've enjoyed in the past. This MM romance with the possessive MC President and the naïve, quirky retail assistant, worlds collide and hearts melt. While there is an intense bond between Steel and Iggie, they must navigate this new romance while dealing with external threats and internal doubts. The blend of action and tender moments captures the essence of Cassie Lein's Steel, being loyalty, love and inclusion amidst chaos and red flags. A wonderful story worth adding to your TBR list, but don't wait too long because with that bombshell ending, book 2 is going to be amazing.

I loved this novela!! I was hooked from the beginning, the plot of was very interesting. The twist that happened I wasn’t expecting but had me on the edge of my seat waiting to see what was going to happen. I loved how obsessed steel was & did everything to make sure that iggie knew he was his.

In the beginning we get an unknown chapter & as you read you find out that Iggie has a stalker & it was lowkey cool that we got a pov from the unknown stalkers view. You normally don’t see that. While we’re learning about iggie stalker, steel is also learning about some inside betrayal👀👀. So much was going on that I just couldn’t stop reading.

There were so many crumbs throughout the book that weren’t answered and I’m hoping that means we’re getting more from this world. The ending wasn’t enough for me like steels ex just showing up like that but then it end there, like WHAT???!!!! 😩

If you looking for a nice easy read about a cinnamon roll behind a possessive MC President then this novelist is for you. 😏 steel just wants someone to love!!

Loved Steel and Iggy!

Iggy is a thunderous dangerous storm and Iggy is a sunny, holiday loving spirit. Together, they create the perfect balance. I loved how Steel fell for Iggy right away and fought for what he wanted. Iggy was more cautious.

This book has a ton of feels, amazing heat and a darker storyline that had me reading the book in one sitting. I loved every minute of it, but there is a bit of a cliffy at the end that has me panting and yearning for the next book in this series! I need it now!!

DNF @ 34%

This is not good. Not even getting into the actual story, the writing is juvenile and stilted, sentence structure is inconsistent, and there’s more telling than showing happening.

Now the story: I like insta-love/lust, but it has to make at least some sense. Steel just sees Iggie and wants him to be his. Knows Iggie is “it” for him after one date. The author hasn’t hit the right tone, at least by the time I stopped reading. Instead of being the sexy stalker and endearingly obsessive, Steel comes across as just downright creepy. Nothing he does up to 34% with regard to Iggie is cute, sweet, or sexy. And mention of his past stalking tendencies (that didn’t work out well), made it worse.

MC books are hit or miss for me (usually a miss), so take that for what it’s worth. I know that MCs are typically seedy and morally gray or black, but I’m okay with it if those parts are basically glossed over or vague. I really don’t like reading about club whores and people fucking out in the open around, especially around others that may actually not like to see that. There are rooms to go to, ffs. And these aren’t just people that hope to eventually catch one of the bikers; they are actual prostitutes.

Which brings me to my breaking point: on their second date, Steel and Iggie have sex. Just two pages before, Iggie is drunk. The lube is “optional,” I guess, because of all the pre-come (uh huh, sure 👍🏼🙄), and there’s no condom or discussion of until after, which makes no sense, because right before they get it on, they’re talking about the whores and which of them Steel has been with!

Anyways, this one definitely wasn’t for me. Beyond just what I didn’t like of the story, I just felt zero connection to either MC, and the writing was becoming tedious to read.

Omg if Cassie writes it, I 100% will love it and now I can certainly add MC gang's to my list of top reads!

Any MC story that I have stumbled upon has always been about an FMC and a MMC so it was nice to finally read a story about two MMC's falling for each other. Iggy was certainly fun to read and not like any MMC that I have really read before. He is comfortable with who he is- loves all things Christmas and just wants to find someone to love him for him all while maybe not being so nice in certain areas of the relationship. For some reason though, he has had a difficult time in finding someone who he can actually see himself being with- that is until Steel happens to walk into the department store. Steel is certainly someone that doesn't have a good past but with Iggy he really seems to want to try to put his best foot forward to show this kid that he can be good from him. Unfortunately, that desire to prove himself comes back to bite him when he least expects it and is part of a bigger plot against him that lands Iggy in trouble he may never be able to get himself out of.

This story does a great job of not only creating a world that is new and exiting, giving the reader all of the details they would need to be able to visualize it themselves, it also creates a great relationship between these two men. The chemistry they have towards each other is off the charts and there are so many firsts that happen that leave the reader all hot and bothered and wanting to see so much more from these two. There is something really fun about reading just how soft and loving that Steel can be outside of the bedroom and then how domineering he can be inside, something that Iggy really loves.

I also really loved the arc of this story. There are so many different puzzle pieces to the overall story that meld well together without giving the overall villain away. I think it was really fun to read how Steel started to unravel the mystery as to the rats in his club and basically stumble upon something much bigger that even he couldn't predict. That plot twist was extremely well hidden in the subplot that I was gasping in shock at the end multiple times, especially as certain events went down and the really villains were revealed. It really tore at my heart multiple times while I was trying to figure out of Iggy and Steel were going to get their happily ever after or not.

This is a great start to a new series and I can't wait to see what comes from this world next- there were so many other different relationship that were teased during this story that I can't wait to see where they all go. Plus with the cliffhanger at the end, I know I am going to be needing answers and soon!

I really enjoyed this and it is an interesting spin on the usual MC romance. Iggie is an absolute sweetheart and the sunshine to Steel's grump. I loved Steel's development as he recognises his possessive tendencies and is determined to win Iggie over after learning from his past mistakes. The man loves hard and the way he respected Iggie's boundaries throughout just had me rooting for him the whole time. I enjoyed the non-romance sub plot and there was just enough mystery to have me second guessing. Although there are some darker moments (the aftermath of which was dealt with on page as part of the story rather than being glossed over which I liked), the overall tone is lighter with plenty of chemistry, the perfect balance of spice and the back and forth between the various characters being on point across the board (the road names part was a highlight).

There are some really interesting side characters (Kiki, Draco, Viper and Marni were all stand outs) and the groundwork is definitely there for future stories. This is a standalone but after that jaw dropper of an ending I'm intrigued as to see how this is going to connect to the next book and who the next focus will be on as there are plenty of options!

My interpretation of the star system;
3 stars - I enjoyed it; would read the author again
4 stars - I really liked it; I am invested and definitely want more from this author/series
5 stars - I loved it; I engaged with this book completely until I finished it and it is one I will re-read

Well as per usual Cassie has once again exceeded all my expectations and delivered another home run right outta the ballpark . I’m not typically a reader of MC romances at all - that being Cassie has managed to change all that and bring me over to the DarkSide . Steele and Iggie oh my gosh I just loved them so freaking much . Steele is the MC president ( a complete alpha a bit obsessive , extremely protective and yes very jealous. and Iggie Typically works in the children’s section of the department store Steele ends up going to when he needs a new pair of jeans for a charity drive . But on that particular day he just so happens to be in the men’s department. Complete opposites in every way yet you can feel the chemistry and the steam coming off the pages the moment they meet . This really was such a fun read . Sure it’s a MC romance but it also has some grumpy sunshine vibes which I absolutely loved and it’s a MM romance which I’m always a sucker for . Add into that the angst , the humor , the witty banter , the drama , the off the charts chemistry, the non stop action, the passion , the love , the unexpected surprises, the family and friendships ( all I can say is put plenty of free time aside because once you start it’s almost impossible to stop . I should know as I ended up reading most of the dead and dead on my feet the next day - but it was so so worth it

This was my first Cassie Lein story and definitely won't be my last!
Steel's MM romance story had me hooked from start to finish.
Steel is the President of the Hell's Mayhem MC.
And....
Let me tell you this man has not had much luck in the love department.
Ok... so stalking your possible love interests may not have been ideal but regardless this OTT possessive, obsessive, protective and yet kind hearted man has not found his soul mate.
Well...
Enter Iggie. Oh how I adored this sweet and kind hearted man who works in a department store.
One day at work he meets Steel, a man who is his complete opposite and yet sparks flew between them. Iggie was unsure, but took a chance and was thrown into a world completely out of his element.
Will he make it out the other end?
Can opposites really attract?
Can Steel and Iggie find the love they have both been desperately wanting?

I simply enjoyed everything about their journey. It had a found family, drama, angst, steam, suspense, action, sizzling chemisty, swoony moments, a few twists and of course friendships among the MC brotherhood.
With a few little hints about possible future couples/storylines I'm excited for more of this series!

Steel is the first book in the ) Hell’s Mayhem MC Illinois series written by Cassie Lein.

💜 Motorcycle club
💜 mysteries
💜 forced proximity
💜 touch him and 💀
💜 🌶🌶🌶🌶 spice

Ignatius is so glad that today marks the first day of December. Why’s that? Because he gets to wear his Christmas outfits to work and not get into trouble. When he has to go to another department to cover for a coworker’s lunch, he decides to start cleaning up. When a clearing of the throat causes him to jump, he turns and see a very handsome man trying to get his attention. Once he helps him with his needs, he also gives him, Steel, his phone number. Can this really turn into something? And what’s up with that leather vest he was wearing? If he is part of a motorcycle club, is that something he wants to be a part of?

It was nice to read about two men having a relationship within the motorcycle club book. You don’t often get that perspective within this type of genre. There are mysteries that pop up and must be solved within this story making it hard to put down. Overall, this was a fun and engaging book. I can’t wait to see what other stories come out in this world.

OMG this was sooooo good! I have chills!

So- this was my first solo Cassie read. Cassie- I love how you write. It just hits different. It scratches that dark itch deep in my brain, brings my love for a strongly developed story through the pages, and quells the burn for some good spicy spice. I couldn’t put it down longer than 15 minutes. That’s how I knew that I’d found another outstanding author to sate my love of the darkness and a fantastic story.

Iggie and Steel are destined. And prepare yourselves for a skillfully executed cliffhanger. There was an audible yell from me when I read it. Kiki reminds me of a dear friend of mine (that does something totally different from what Kiki does with the club) and I love the energy some of the guys have. Viper is Bae, and I’m a queer girl. I adore his love of the macabre and how twisted he gets in The Shed.

I love how much queer rep Cassie and some other authors do. It’s great to feel that inclusion in the books we love to read. 5🌟, on a scale from jalapeño to Carolina Reaper- I’m giving this a habañero. It’s going on my shelf ASAP.

Wow

I have to say this book is excellent. It's a M/M book about Steel and Iggie and absolutely floored with how good it is. Iggie works at a department store and loved Christmas. He also enjoys helping people but does not like a worker there or her daughter who constantly hits on him even though he's gay. Steel is the president of the Hell's Mayhem MC and went to the store looking to get jeans for all the men in his MC for a party that gives gifts to children. Steel sees Iggie and gets him to help him and immediately is interested in him. Iggie feels the same way too.

After a bit, Iggie agrees to go out with Steel and things heat up. Steel thinks Iggie realizes who he is and is okay with it but Iggie is definitely oblivious. Iggie sees Steel yelling at someone and finds out who he is and thinks he's being a bully. Meanwhile, Iggie has a stalker and doesn't realize it and this person sends some pictures and papers about Steel's past that makes Iggie not want to be with him. Will Iggie realize Steel is the man for him? Will be realize before his stalker gets to him? You need to read this book to find out. Cassie has done it again. Great book.

This is my first time reading by this author and I fucking loved it. Will definitely be reading more of her books.!! What a way to start off for me reading from a new author, a m/m book but not just any old m/m nope a MC m/m book. And what's not to love about that, my two favourites in one book!!

Steel and Ignatius are truly soul mates. They are like chalk and cheese but they just work so well together.

Once I started I was hooked, like on the edge of my seat, gripping my device hooked.! Page after page I kept on turning needing to know what was coming next. It's such a bloody rollercoaster ride with twists and turns you don't see coming.

It's packed with drama, suspense, stalker, darkness, spice, possessiveness and so much more. It gave me all the feels.

The characters, plot and storyline where wonderfully thought out and written. I love Cassie's writing style and how she sucks you into the world she's created. But that ending, that cliffhanger. I don't want to talk about it. Damn !! I can't wait for the next part. Highly recommend!

Wowzer! This book was intense!! 🥵 What do you get when the President of a MC falls in love at first site with a toy store department manager? One rollercoaster ride of emotions!

This was my first strictly MM story and I'm glad I was able to read it. Steel and Iggie's relationship was explosive from the beginning. The reader can't help but fall in love with the two characters. Iggie is a romantic at heart who loves the holiday season and giving to others. Steel is a protective, "touch him & die" type of person. Mix these two personalities and you get the perfect romance.

Of course there are hiccups along the way. Cassie Lein did an amazing job building up suspense and action.

This is steels and iggie's story
It is an m/m story with a few triggers.
Omg i loved this book.
Steel is president of an mc club and can be vicious, ruthless and scary but wow when it came to iggie he was a teddy bear.
I loved how he saw iggie, wanted him and showed how he could be different that what he was when he was younger(read to find out what happened in his past)
After witnessing something that steel didnt want iggie to see, iggie struggles with what he wants.
There was the mystery of who the stalker of iggie was and who was screwing over steel in his mc.
I loved how cassie managed to tie it all together and how the bad ones had clearly lost their marbles.
That ending though left you wanting to read the next one straight away,so i cannot wait to read it and cant come around quick enough

Cassie did it again. I’ve loved all of her books. This one was about an MC president named Steel. He walked into a department store where he met Ignatius (iggie). Steel was doing a charity drive and he needed new jeans. That was how they met. Iggie normally worked In the Children's department but he was covering over there. He and steel exchanged numbers but he was apprehensive of responding. So one night he and his best friend Draco were out and Iggie left his phone on the bar so Draco texted Steel and that was how things came about with them. Iggie worked with Nancy who had a huge crush on him and would constantly flirt with him but he wasn’t interested since he was gay. Nancy wasn’t giving up so her and her mom Susan who also worked at the department store did something crazy. This is a great book. Not surprising as everything Cassie writes is amazing.

Wow! What I wouldn’t give to be in the middle of a Steel & Iggie sandwich but sadly they only have eyes for each other! *Sigh*. Steel is a growly, dominant alpha who only shows his soft side to those he cares about, but I suppose that’s to be expected as the President of an MC. Iggie is a kind, sweet, Christmas loving guy who just wants someone to love him. I loved everything about their relationship from the way they met to the way Steel proves to Iggie he is not your typical MC guy. They endure lots of things thrown at them and trying to come between them but when they really need each other they are there. The story was great and I loved the twists & turns that kept it interesting and made me not want to put it down. I can’t get over the twist at the end and I really hope there’s more to come! Brilliant read!

This book was intense from beginning to end. Iggie and Steel's story is so well written and so captivating, it had me in a chokehold and I had such a hard time putting it down. The story is full of action and mystery with plot twists and turns I never saw coming. The main characters were just adorable, both so strong in their own ways and so in love. It also has some delicious spice, but there is definitely more plot than spice. Their story is captivating and touches on some societal issues like homophobia and abuse against men. The pace of the story was perfect, keeping me interested, entertained, and engaged throughout the whole book. And that ending...? I can't wait for the next one. Definitely one of the top MM stories I've read this year so far.

Steel is book one in the Hell's Mayhem MC Illinois Series. This was a great MM, MC romance.

Steel may have had an obsessive personality when it came to something he wanted, but he was also caring when it came to the people he loved. This obsessive personality does hinder his relationship with Iggie a bit, but not too too much.

I truly feel bad for what happens with Iggie. This is a serious issue which occurs which many seem to make light of in real life. This was portrayed quite well with the after affects of the trauma Iggie does through. I'm glad he had a great support system at his back to help him cope with what he had to go through.

I definitely can't wait for the next book as it sets you up with some potential couples and I can't wait to see what happens with them.

So Steel by Cassie Lein, OMG this book exceeds all expectations that I had. I knew that I wanted to read this book, but I forgot anything about it and then I started to read it and I was like OMG yes.

So do you love MC books, alpha president who is over the top jealous, protective and just wants what he wants and then add in this is a MM book, then if you have just ticked off this boxes then you need to deep dive in.

This book is the sweet innocent guy who meets the alpha male president. This book is a push and pull between our two main characters with a plot story flowing underneath. You are hit with the classic Cassie Lein what, OMG’s. Plus with we have the added extra of our side characters leaving an opening for more.

Love, love, loved.

High five for Cassie! Another world with wonderful characters, and I look forward to more.
Steel is just amazing; all of that Alpha personality earns the club's respect, and dominates Iggie in the bedroom. He may be brutal at points in the story, but he'll still move mountains for the man he loves.
Iggie is absolutely adorable. He loves Christmas as much as I do, and I want to reach through the kindle pages and randomly give him hugs, even before Cassie starts the heart-ripping. And at points I wanted to cry and throat punch some characters.
A perfect blend of darkness and cuddles. Lots of angst, humor, steam, drama, some backstabbing, and some bloody deaths in there too.

Iggy is the children's department manager but one day he have to cover the men's department.
And in walks the most handsome man he ever seen, Steel he notice he have a MC cut and is president of the Hell's Mayhem Motorcycle Club but he might no much about the MC world. He think dream boy Steel is like some one from Wild Hogs instead of from Sons of Anarchy.
Lets say its love at first sight and then what happens is a story filled of Love Laughs and Violence and some twists and turns that makes you feel like sitting on nails and you know you cant wait to find out what is next for our characters and the whole Club need to have other members story as well.
But read it and get on for a ride that take you out of reality and in to a world of something new.

This was a unique and exciting read that brings Steel and Iggy together. These two are definitely opposites and you think they won't have a chance, but they are perfect together. I like how Iggy tried to understand Steel's world of MC life. He's definitely a sunshine character. However, he has a stalker and, while Steel does try to rein in his possessive side, he's more than ready to make Iggy his. Expect to get caught up in the danger, emotions, twists, action and heat as these two work their way to a happy ending. I really love that the MC had both males and females for club 'action' and how consent was essential. Definitely another great read by this author and I'm looking forward to diving into the next book because...well, there is a cliffy ;D
