A demon who feeds on her desires. An enchantress who’s desperate enough to bargain with him.
Wild shadows stir within a forest that never sleeps—demons and beasts eager to ensnare their next prey.
Arabella, a powerful enchantress and protector of mankind, offers herself—her body—to a forest demon in exchange for power to repair the village’s weakening magical wards that keep the dark forces of the forest at bay. But he isn’t what she expects.
The demon isn’t a monster but a handsome man with abilities as old and powerful as the forest itself. When he kisses her, he feeds on her body’s desires, and she finds herself unable to withstand the attraction pulling her in.
But enchantresses and demons can never be together—even if the demon wears the face of a man.
As dark forces mobilize throughout the forest and the bargains with the fae and witches demand too high a price, she is faced with an impossible choice. Either submit to the demon she’s been taught to hate or risk losing everyone to the wild shadows of the forest.

Kissed by a Demon is the first book in the Wild Shadows series with a romance as steamy as A Court of Silver Flames by Sarah J. Maas. (There's no fade to black here!)
Please be aware that this book is written in third-person POV, past tense, and it ends on a cliffhanger.
What the reader can forbidden love, enemies to lovers, forced proximity, he falls first, can't stay away, fated mates, "touch her and I'll end you," and elements of Hades and Persephone.
Rosalyn Stirling is an author of steamy fantasy romance. In her free time, she enjoys reading and watching stories where love wins against all odds and the lovers find their happily ever after. She can be found at your nearest bookstore, tea in hand, dreaming of other worlds.
There’s no way this book ends like that! No way! I need book 2 now! This book made me feel things, I enjoyed it so much.
First off, I just wanna thank Rosalyn Stirling for giving me an opportunity to read the ARC. Kissed by a Demon was the dark fantasy retelling of Hades and Persephone, I can also see Beauty and the Beast on some parts of it. This is set in a set in a world full of dark magic and dangerous secrets.
Question though, if I go to the forest will if I find an Erox too? I mean I will gladly be captive for 10 years.
To our lovely author, Rosalyn Stirling, thank you so much for the opportunity to read this advanced copy for an honest review. I was more than excited to dive in to this magical world.
This is the first book in the Wild Shadows series. A paranormal, fantasy, romance revolving around Arabella, an enchantress tasked with protecting the human village from the demons lurking in the forest and Elias, the devour, and immortal demon who feeds off sexual desires. Kissed By A Demon was such a pleasant surprise that found me when I was in the midst of a reading slump and woke back up that love for a new adventure and a new romance I was missing. This is going to have mysteries and secrets, forbidden love and hot steamy romance, hidden agendas, magic wielders, an evil uprising that must be stopped along with the power of love and friendship. Basically it’s like a great big bundle of all the things I love most wrapped up in one book. The relationship between Elias and Arabella had me absolutely hooked! It was giving me a touch of Beauty and the Beast and a dash of Hades/Persephone retelling vibes, I ate that shit up. If you enjoy some spice sprinkled in your fantasy world this one is bringing some heat. I really enjoyed this read! I had to immediately get my hands on the bonus chapter with that ending! I am very excited to see what happens next in this series.
Tropes: ▪️Forbidden love ▪️Enemies to lovers ▪️Forced proximity
I was not expecting to love this, as much as I did! But, do we have a new shadow daddy?
I don't want to spoiler anything, as this really is a fantastic read. However! It has elements of Beauty and the Beast (which is an instabuy for me!), but with a bit of angst, drama, a fair bit of fighting and magic, and...spice. Oh my, the spice!
If this was a delicious meal, I would have been left very satisfied, and needing a very large glass of ice cold milk. The spice, people! Delicious.
Again, I don't want to spoiler anyone, but I do want to discuss some aspects of the book!
I really enjoyed the magic system, and I loved the characters. Arabella is a brilliant, badass FMC. I loved her and, her dedication/loyalty to her "family" and friends. I liked that she could kick some serious butt, and hold her own, but also be vulnerable. And need her friends and, of course, her one true love!
I thought the side characters were also really good, I would have loved to see more of Breckett. I found him really quite charming, I love a snarky character, with a grudge! I would also love to read more about the Witch of the Wilds in future books, as I found that character fascinating too.
Overall, this was a thoroughly enjoyable read. And I cannot wait for a second book! Arabella and Elias need more adventures and alone time!
We might have a new shadow...person!

THIS BOOK IS BRILLIANT 🤌🏽 although i’m not a fan of 3rd POV, i absolutely loved this book! super grateful that i was able to have an ARC and i truly cannot wait until the next one!
Okay so i am still new to fantasy so I will admit that it took me a bit to get into this book. You’re kinda thrust right into the action, a new world, and I was struggling to find my bearings. It seemed like a lot of characters, info etc at once. And all the monsters attacking, this world seems scary AF
Once you wrap your brain around it, it gets really good.
The town offers one person to the demon every 10 years for protection. After 10 years they come back, memory erased, and a new one is chosen. Since the enchantresses live for ~150 years, they are usually the ones chosen.
Arabella is an enchantress with a strange unknown past, she is rescued from the woods by the Circle as a baby and trained in magic to protect the town. But the wards are failing and she wants to find a better way to protect her people. After the last offering returns, she offers herself to the demon in hopes of finding this.
The demon, Elias, is more than she bargained for. His dark hair, dark eyes, chiselled body is not what she expected from a demon.
He’s actually an Erox, which I found to be a very interesting species. He feeds off her desire to stay alive! 🌶️ 🌶️🌶️ I thought maybe their connection was due to this power and he was manipulating her, but then he stated that it’s not always like that and it made more sense!
Arabella is fierce and strong willed, she challenges him and is stubborn as hell. I love that about her because she doesn’t just submit. She’s sacrificing herself for her people and she is not going to fall for a hot demon.
I love that he falls first. She was kind of hung up on the enchantress/demon forbidden thing; I was proud of her for sticking to her guns to protect her people, but you can be happy too!! I don’t know why people think they can tell anyone who they can love, if it happens it’s meant to be!!
So many twists!! All the magical beings, powers, who feeds off who, friends who will do anything for you, there was a lot more depth here than I expected. Just when I thought I’d figured it out, nope! It is very complex but also easy to follow; some things left out on purpose, I’m sure everything comes together in the end.
I enjoyed the contrast with her and Breckett too, you kinda need some friendly banter/conflict. Not everyone has to love the FMC/MMC
This ends on a cliffhanger too, which I did not know!! So now I’m ansy for book two!
You know it's going to be good when the dedication is "to everyone who'd f*ck the villain because he'd burn down the world for you"...
Honestly I loved every second of this stunning forbidden love / enemy to lover fantasy romance. There is so much delicious chemistry between the enchantress and demon, I love the sassy banter, and the vibes of this are everything. It's like a steamy beauty and the beast crossed with Acotar, but so much more. There's magic, secrets, forced proximity, bargains, hidden agendas, dire stakes and evil villains lurking in the dark, and so much passion and lusty desire. The unique magic and range of creatures is fabulous, and I am shook at how it ended! I need book 2 asap!
✨ Strong FMC ✨ Forced Proximity ✨ Demon bargains ✨ Enemy to Lover ✨ Forbidden Romance ✨ Magic ✨ He Falls First ✨ Shadows ✨ Dire Stakes ✨ Witches, Demons, Fae and other creatures ✨ Spicy 🔥 ✨ Hidden Identity
Seriously just go read this book! 😉
🖤" 'Be careful. I like a challenge' he said gently turning her head. 'But I will have your obedience. One way or another' " 🖤"He tasted as decadent as sin, and he was sin to her" 🖤"Eyes on me, little enchantress. They're simply as entranced by your beauty as I am"
Kissed By A Demon is a paranormal fantasy romance with elements of Hades and Persephone and is book 1 to the Wild Shadows series.
The story follows Arabella, a powerful enchantress and protector of mankind, after an attack on the village and realising the ward that’s meant to protect them isn’t as strong as they thought, offers herself, to the Devourer, a strong forest demon in exchange for power to repair the village’s weakening magical wards. Though the demon isn’t a monster but a handsome man with abilities as old and powerful as the forest itself.
This book takes you adventure with action, magic, secrets, mysteries and of course spice. The story, world building was so detailed and characters were done beautifully. Rosalyn really created a page turner with KBAD.
This book does end on a cliffhanger but I am excited to see where Rosalyn takes the series from here.
Please check the TW/CW before diving in scenes/topics may not be for everyone.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
ok, this book begins with action and it never stops. there’s very little world building in the beginning, it’s very much “this is Arabella - she’s a badass enchantress” and then BAM!💥ACTION!💥PLOT!💥SMUT!🥵
you think you’ve met all the characters but they just keep coming! each of them exuding personality and none of them the same. Breckett and Jessamine are my favorite. lol.
i loved meeting new magic and creatures that i haven’t heard of before, but then you also have your favorites (witches, fae, goblins, etc.)
you’ve got the spice, the laughs, the feels, the funny jabs. you feel the magic and intensity and i swear there were definitely some twists i was not expecting. and i loved the bonus chapter with her friends because each of them are so perfect.😭 the cliffhanger is so not cool though. lol. i can’t wait for the next book!
I LOVED this book, and all the characters in it. Arabella is an enchantress living with a few others, and some humans in a town protected from the demons outside - however the ward is fading. So what does she do? Makes a reckless decision to offer herself as the "offering" to the demon for the next 10 years in hopes to save the failing ward - but she has no idea what to expect. The demon, who we later find out is named Elias, has been taking humans for 10 years at a time for as long as people of the town can remember, whoever, when they come back, the offerings are unharmed, but can not remember any of their time. Turns out Elias is an erox, and they feed off sexual essence, so this book turned steamy very quickly.
While the relationship began as a "captor and captive" sort of situation, Arabella always had a underlying attraction to him, and Elias was always respectful towards her, it was fun to watch their relationship grow. Not going to lie, in the beginning, I thought Elias might snap since Arabella is a little hot headed, but he just pushed her sass right back at her. The ending though has me needing the second book asap! I had a feeling it was going to go the way it did between them, but Elias is making me afraid as to what the future will hold for them. I need book 2 in my hands asap
i would like to just start out by saying thank you to Rosalyn Stirling for allowing me to read the ARC of Kissed By a Demon.
but…. girl!! how could you end it like that??? this book made me feel every emotion possible! i need the second book ASAP!!!
i loved the story of Arabella & Elia. Arabella protecting her village & Elias who wasn’t just a typical erox. this entire book was an adventure from beginning to end. learning about what magic Arabella holds. learning why Elias is the way he is. this book was spicy, sad, frustrating. all of the above, but it was amazing nonetheless! i truly enjoyed everything about this book & cannot wait until the second book comes out!

So first things first, this is a romantasy, so I'm basically guaranteed to love no matter what. I will let go of a lot of things if I love the love. And I did. Did this book have the greatest world building I've ever seen? No. Did I care? Also, no. Truthfully, I went into this thinking it would be just smut, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that it wasn't. There's a great storyline building that I'm so excited to see through the rest of the series. I fell in love with the characters, even if they sometimes make their own lives difficult. Seriously, let's quit sacrificing ourselves for the greater good. All in all, I enjoyed this one. I don't think this would be for anyone hardcore into fantasy personally, but for me, I'll keep going with this series.
🌶🌶🌶/5
As always, check the content and trigger warnings; they're there for a reason.
Look out everyone, theres a new Shadow Daddy creeping in the forest!!!! He is the Demon of Desire. She’s an enchantress. They can’t seem to avoid the desire pouring off both of them.
What a fantastic start to a new romantasy series. I absolutely loved the enemies to lovers, the bada s s FMC energy, the world building. Loved loved loved it all!
This might just be my new favourite book series. We have magic, a bada*s fmc, and demons. The storyline was well written, awesome characters and we got to know heaps of the side characters aswell. We are left on a cliffhanger, but isn’t that what makes books fun to read
First time reading from this author and I'm so impressed! A fierce enchantress,a demon with a soft heart in a magical tale that kept me engrossed in the story until the last word. Well written with detailed and often complex plot and storyline, very good settings and world building and the characters are well developed, captivating and in some moments felt real. Ends in a cliffhanger and I have high expectations in the next book! I highly recomend this book!
I would like to say a big thank you to Rosalyn for allowing me to be apart of her ARC team🙌
Rate: 5/5⭐️ Spice: 5/5🌶️
I will start off by saying Kissed by a Demon is not normally something I would read but let me tell you it blew me away! So beautifully written and easy to follow. Fantasy books can be hard to follow for me with all the different elements that go into their fantasy world, but not this book. The spice was chefs kiss!💋 I loved Arabella’s angst and “The Demons” witty personality it makes the banter that must better😏 Plus when you think you have it figured out….. WRONG! It will leave you wondering until the very end…. maybe even past that 💁♀️
First, I'd like to thank Rosalyn Stirling for giving me the honor of being a part of her ARC team and being one of the first readers of this book!
Okay, guys…this book has everything!! From enemies to lovers, unknown past, forced proximity, bad guy gets the girl, he falls first, forbidden love, bada$$/witty FMC, touch her and die, betrayal, and oh my gosh SPICE! I will not give any hints/spoilers at all because YOU NEED TO READ IT! I could not put this book down. It kept me on the edge of my seat through every page. I was in such a big book rut before reading Kissed by a Demon and it definitely got me out it. This book is now one of my top favorite reads. Rosalyn did such an amazing job creating their world, it was impossible not to get swept away in it. The way she laid everything out in front of you made you feel like you were actually there going through the motions with the characters. I fell in love with each person in this book all for different reasons. Each personality was depicted perfectly. I cannot wait to see how Elias’ and Arabella’s story continues!! This book is a MUST read. Coming out on May 14th on Kindle Unlimited!!
"Stop it right nowwww" was the literal phrase out of my mouth when I finished this book ! This book blew me away , first & foremost the storyline was different from any other spicy romantasy that I have read which was refreshing! The spice was SPICING & was perfectly balanced with the interesting storyline! My jaw dropped with quite a few surprises that I didnt see coming there at the end of the book!!! I am so honored to have been able to read this awesome book before it release! Can't wait for book 2!!
It took me a minute to get into this one (im not brilliant at following world building), but once I got my brain around the first few chapters, I was in love. Arabella is the perfect FMC, fiesty, challenging, empowered and strong. And Elias 🔥🥵🫠 the perfect blend of demon, humanity and love.
Loved the hades and persephone vibes, the forbidden love and the magic.
But I was not ready for that ending 😭😭, talk about leave us hanging and in desperation for book 2!!
As steamy as advertised, a wonderful tale about an enchantress who was so used to being in charge losing control to a forest demon who feeds on desire. A good read for those who like forbidden love tropes; and readers who enjoy books like A Touch of Darkness by Scarlett St. Clair and A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas.
This book reminded me why I fell in love with fantasy romance.
Arabella is part of The Circle, a group of enchantresses, who took an oath to protect humans against monsters and demons.
Elias (The Devourer) is a 300 year old erox, a demon, who feeds off the essence/orgasms of others. Every 10 years he takes an offering, from the village Arabella protects. To save her people from being offered, she offers herself, hoping to make a bargain with Elias.
As their time together passes, their attraction grows. Despite having had offerings in the past, Arabella is the first in a long time who he is intimate with. She is the first offering, since his initial offering, that he's fallen in love with.
As the wards around his lands start to weaken, just like the wards around Arabella's village, he needs to find an amplifier to enhance his magic and strengthen his ward. As fate would have it, the fae queen is having her 900th birthday ball and invites him. He and Arabella travel to the other dimension and despite the queen denying his offer, Arabella makes a bargain with the fae prince. His amplifier for being amenable to a request in the future.
Elias is set to use the amplifier to strengthen his ward, but Arabella uses her advantages to escape with hopes of using it to strengthen the ward of her village. Of course nothing goes as planned and she is captured by the most powerful sorcerer, Magnus, who we later learn is the creator of all erox. Despite her betrayal, Elias and Breckett (another erox) save her and escape, but sans amplifier. It's then that Arabella learns that Elias has been protecting goblins at his castle, the remaining 12 known to exist. His decision to use the amplifier on his land and not the village was not out of spite or evil.
To earn his trust back and make right what she did, she leads them to Lucinda, the Witch of the Wood's (former) apprentice to seek out another amplifier. While she doesn't have one, she sends them to the Witch. She does have one, but it will cost Arabella her memories. She takes the bargain and they leave with the amplifier. The Witch did impart some news first - Elias and Arabella are fated mates and her magic is rare - shadow wielding, Shadow Court fae rare!
Once back, Elias and Breckett strengthen their wards. Desperate to help Arabella, he goes to her village and offers the remaining power of the amplifier to the head enchantress, Iris - the woman who found Arabella as a child and raised her as her own. In exchange for the amplifier, Arabella's enchantress friends will go back to his castle and help Arabella regain her memories. Not working, Elias gives the ultimate sacrifice - himself to Magnus in exchange for Arabella's memories being returned.
Major cliffhanger and I cannot wait to read the next book! The last two chapters had me in tears!
Spice level is medium hot. There's some real spicy scenes, but nothing crazy (except for a horse brush once). It all fits the story line perfectly. You would think that based on the concept of the erox it would be over the top, but it's not. Rosalyn did a great job balancing the story and the spice. The world she's created is amazing and described in the right amount of detail to envision it all.
Definitely a must add to your TBR!
Thank you Rosalyn Stirling for gifting us with this amazing story!

Kissed by a Demon. My fellow readers. Whoa, this book had everything from the movie supersized theater popcorn. To the big gulp soda drink. I don’t think that I have been so entertained by a book in some months. Now I normally read historical romance novels, and I have a few writers that I sing high praises about any day and anywhere. Let’s talk about this book, which has caught my attention. I believe that the background story surrounding the characters was very engaging. It made me as the reader to really want to read the story. I found the book to have a nice pace between the chapters. The story didn’t seem to rush me or drag the story out. The action scenes are amazing. The visionary details are explained so well. This writer shared some juicy and I mean juicy, flirty, and steamy scenes that set my kindle on fire not once. Not twice. I can’t tell you how many times I said oh my. I really can’t. Giiirrrllls this is a book you will be talking about with your book club for days to come. First of all you are going to love the main characters. Thank you to the writer for creating adult appropriate characters to the book. Meaning, she didn’t have the tween or college language or young drama involvement. The plot was covered real life issues where the characters put other people before themselves. Where the most hardest decisions that are made, are sacrifices by the unknown heroes. Take Arabella for an example. She is a strong powerful enchantress who’s smart. She finds herself falling for a demon who then works with her. The two work together, but work separately at the same time and that’s where their troubles and their journey truly begin. Elias is a demon that stays hidden in the shadows among the trees. He accepts what Arabella has given to him, but things are not always easly resolved or won when it comes to submitting to one another. I give this book two snaps and a Vorkle, you were there the whole time? Admit it! Until next time my fellow readers. Read on!
arabella was raised as an enchantress after she was found at the edge of the forest by the head enchantress at a young age. no one survives the forest with all of the demons & creatures lurking around. where did this child come from?
when the wards surrounding shadowbank begin to weaken, everyone must help to defend the mortals in their small village with every ounce of magic they can spare. with no way of strengthening or rebuilding the ward themselves, they must come up with another way.
a long time ago, a bargain was made between the enchantresses & a demon they referred to as the devourer. every ten years, an enchantress would become the devourer's “offering” to keep the demon from crossing into the mortal village & hurting innocents. now that his latest offering has returned to shadowbank, they have three days to decide who will be next.
arabella selflessly decides to offer herself over to him, unbeknownst to everyone, to protect her friends & family from possibly being volunteered, as well as to try & find any information or seek any help that she possibly could in finding a way to fix the ward. not long after, she is made aware of exactly the type of demon she's bargained herself into spending the next decade of her life with & there's no going back.
initially, i was conflicted on giving this four or five stars. i, personally, don't really care for third-person pov. it's usually really hard for me to get into the storyline & connect with the characters, but if i’m being completely honest here, as i obviously am bc duh, it's my review, i fucking loved this book! i may have struggled to get into the first few chapters, but it was a downhill (& wet) slide the rest of the way through. my hair is a mess & i’m still trying to catch my breath. i am ✨obsessed✨ with elias.
i’m so ready for the second book, devoured by shadows to release bc that cliffhanger was not fair for my heart & soul. shame on you, rosalyn. i’m (impatiently) waiting here...
Let me just say that this book is WORTH ITTTTTTT!!!
Now first thing first it’s in third person. I don’t read much third person books because not all hold my interest BUT LET ME TELL YOU THISSSSSS THISSSS held my interest. I could not put it down. It blew me away with how it was beautifully written and captivating.
I’m a full time teacher and I was reading this at work and in all my free time. Even gave my class a free period so I can finish.
In the first few pages it gives you the background and an epic mini battle scene that is a great lead in to the book. Nothing too long or short I’d say just right.
Our main female character Arabella an enchantress, a magic wielder that protects the mortals. She help keep the wards up to keep out any dangerous creatures from the human town. she will do anything it takes to save her people, her family. They mean the world to her. Arabella volunteers herself to a Erox for 10 years. Giving up everything, body , desires and all. In exchange for strengthening the wards, she comes to discover the Devourer isn’t just a demon, but an alluringly handsome man that feeds on sexual desires and she feels a constant pull towards him.
Let me say the spice is there. It’s not like other dark romance books that throw you into the spice at first jump. Rosalyn took me on a journey and a steamy one at that too. And when I think I know how it will go she throw a curve ball at me.
I’m not going to spoil it but hands down an amazing read between Arabella personality and the erox (Elias) witty remarks. You’re at the edge of your seat. In a few months I’ll re read just saying until the next book because the cliffhanger is killing me.
I NEED THE BOOK 2 like prontoooo because the way it end. How can I recover.
✔️Found family ✔️Enemies to Lovers ✔️magic & mythical beings ✔️spicy
First off I will accept exactly zero criticism on this book… zero. Got it ? Good. Cause I am absolutely obsessed ! This book has put me into a book slump like I just finished it and I already want to read it again!!
Character development is super in depth, like as you go through you learn how detailed these characters are. You learn about their pasts and how it affects their futures. The mmc is so much more than he appears to be at the start. The fmc is strong and sticks to her convictions (well mostly 😉).
The plot is so super interesting !! It starts with how she comes to be his captive not captive then moves into a much more complex story line involving the fae and the erox and the fmc trying to save her home. It so interesting to read about and the world building is so amazing, the different magics and the creatures that are created are just so complex it’s honestly addicting.
The chemistry between them is outstanding like even later on that sizzling chemistry is still there. They are desperate for each other and it is so sizzling hot. Given what he is, the scenes between them are really quite common throughout but they are always different, they aren’t repetitive and don’t take away from the actual story as it’s an integral part of the storyline. The spice is 5/5, panty melting drool worthy level of spice. I love it.
Overall, I’m still not over this book… I’m so in love I can’t handle it. This book is as addicting as the Erox demons within. It’s a 5/5 read for me all the way. If romantasy with heavy smut is your thing then 110% check this one out. I will absolutely recommend this to anyone.
I am so glad I decided to read the prequel in ‘The Wild Shadows’ series ‘Auctioned to the Vampire’ first, because it placed me back into the Shadowbank and too all its characters within the magical wards, where amongst them lurked dangers and evil that lay waiting to devour its prey. This previous world building enabled me to dive straight in and submerge myself within the story.
From the moment Elias was introduced I found him very intriguing and liked him immediately. I saw so much depth to his character, hidden behind the solid walls he kept around himself. I was excited to see how he would unravel throughout the story.
‘Do you seek to kill me, little enchantress’.
I found myself held captive alongside Arabella. I didn’t want to put the book down. I was completely captivated by every moment and was eager to turn the pages to absorb more and more of the world and the story that surrounded me.
I was well and truly entranced from the first pages and the ending left a gaping hole in my chest where my heart was. What. A. Cliffhanger. I need book 2 now. I need to know what happens next! I never expected the story to take this turn of events, it has completely blindsided me. Now all I can do is wait eagerly for book 2 and hope against everything that my heart is restored.
Rosalyn I would like to applaud you for writing a masterpiece. It has everything a book has to offer. Enemies to lovers, he falls first, possessive and protective MMC, badass heroine FMC, forbidden love, fated mates, forced proximity, betrayal and deceit and let’s not forget the deliciously sinful spice.
Kissed by the Demon by Rosalyn Stirling is an immersive, fast-paced read that blends supernatural elements with a strong emotional core. From the first page, I was drawn into the world of demons, magic, and complicated relationships. The protagonist, a relatable and strong-willed heroine, is thrown into a chaotic, dangerous world where nothing is as it seems.
Stirling does a fantastic job with world-building—her descriptions are vivid and detailed, making the mystical elements feel tangible and alive. The plot is filled with unexpected twists, keeping the suspense high and the pages turning. There's just the right amount of romance to balance out the action, and the chemistry between the leads is palpable, even if it’s not the central focus of the story.
What really impressed me was the emotional depth. The characters aren’t just fighting external demons, but dealing with their own personal struggles, making their growth throughout the story compelling. The writing flows smoothly, and the pacing is generally well-maintained, though there are a few moments where things slow down a bit.
The only reason I’m not giving it five stars is that the ending felt a little rushed. I wanted more closure on certain plot points and would have liked a bit more depth in the final confrontation. However, overall, it’s a highly enjoyable read for fans of paranormal romance and urban fantasy. I’m definitely looking forward to the next installment!
Arabella, a powerful enchantress, makes a desperate bargain with a forest demon to strengthen her village's magical wards. However, she's surprised to find that the demon appears as a handsome man with ancient powers. Despite their forbidden attraction, Arabella knows that enchantresses and demons can never be together. As dark forces threaten the forest and other bargains demand steep prices, Arabella faces an impossible choice: submit to the demon she's been taught to hate or risk losing everything to the shadows of the forest.
This book has left me absolutely desperate for more! That ending took me by surprise—I need the next instalment right now! The connection between Elias and Arabella had me totally enthralled. If you enjoy a bit of heat in your fantasy reads, this one delivers in spades. It's a thrilling adventure filled with action, magic, secrets, and just the right amount of spice. The intricate world-building and wonderfully developed characters had me completely hooked. I can't wait to see where the story goes next—I've completely fallen for these characters!
Thank you to The Author Rosalyn Stirling for an advanced reader copy (ARC) in exchange for my honest review.
