I have read several books by this author and generally like the stories, but this book had so many errors, misspelled words, typos, and words omitted that I was frustrated. I always submit them for review when I’m reading a book on my Kindle. Get a better proofreader.

Synopsis: At the Pearl Sands Resort, things are a bit tense. There is a plan to expand, but several members of the adjacent small town are not happy with what that might mean to their daily commute and lives. Things take a terrible turn for the worse when a man from the town turns up murdered and all eyes are on the resort as employing the one responsible. Can concierge extraordinare/former P.I., Charlie Davis intervene and find the killer before more trouble comes to the town and the Pearl Sands?
Opinion: This is the 4th book in the Pearl Sands cozy mystery series and I have truly enjoyed listening to each of them as an audiobook. The narrator has such a great voice for these characters and it definitely enhances the story for me. I love how by this 4th book, you really get to dig deeper into each of the recurring characters and I can't wait to listen to the final book soon!
Thrilled to back at the Pearl Sands Beach Resort with one of my favourite amateur sleuths. Love the cozy vibes -- both the resort details and the small island town. I am totally not a hot weather, sun worshipper type but I'd make an exception and visit Pearl Sands if it actually existed!
Charlie is such a likeable heroine. She comes by her amateur sleuthing honestly having had a career as a P.I. before she took on the hotel gig. So she's sensible and smart and works alongside the police, not against them. Oh -- and I also appreciate the law enforcement isn't portrayed as bumbling oafs.
A solid mystery which had me second guessing the way I interpreted clues. I ended up being...well, not absolutely wrong, but not right either. :-)
I'd advise reading this series in order for the wonderful character development and relationship growth. I highly recommend the audio editions -- narrator Erin Dion is the perfect fit for Charlie and the gang.
The latest collaboration between Collins and Briggs delivers another compelling mystery that keeps readers engaged. While the narrative's intricate plot and strategic twists provide an entertaining experience, the resolution becomes somewhat predictable for seasoned mystery enthusiasts. A minor editorial concern involves the text's occasional typographical errors, which might momentarily distract discerning readers. Despite these small imperfections, the novel remains a thoroughly enjoyable read that showcases the authors' storytelling prowess and ability to craft an intriguing narrative.
I really love this series!!!! Charlie is at a party in town, and there is talk about the resort is going to expand and take more land from the Villages' people. There is a loud mouth trouble maker saying he is going to do something about it himself!!!! At the resort the owner makes a surprise visit, and a new assistant manager is in over his head. There is vandalism, love triangle, jealousy, abusive relationship and murder!!!! Now pick up this book and find out what is happening!!!!!! You.won't be disappointed!!!!!!
I enjoy mysteries that don't have the need to show graphic violence through words. Enjoyable twists and turns through every book I've read so far. I do think these authors would benefit From having a good proof reader and copy editor. Many misspelled and superfluous words
An enjoyable story but the numerous typos and referring to Valentina then referring to her as Valerie detracted from the story. I’m enjoying the series but please find a better editor.
I love the series, this author, and the book really should be five stars, but the typos are so excessive it took away from the enjoyment of the book for me. It still is a fantastic book despite this!
