The job was supposed to be easy. Get my best friend’s older brother back on his feet and put my life back together.
But when we end up sharing a bed, all those plans flew out the window. He was a notorious underground rodeo champion. Ladies’ man and legend. It's not until he sustains an almost career ending injury that his family learns his secret - he wasn’t just the head of Sunny Brook Farms after all.
What started as professional morphed into something more, and not only because the cowboy refused to wear a shirt around the house.
Not that I was complaining.
But he was like a tempting piece of dessert that I needed to steer clear of.
Except, the more time I spent with him, the more I learned he was more than what he seemed. He was protective and devoted, and when I had my first taste of him, I was hooked.
We knew it was wrong. We knew it would be our secret.
Neither of us wanted to cross the line drawn in the sand. There was his sister to consider and my crushed heart.
But all of it was about to get more complicated when that pink plus sign showed up. This is book five in the Sunny Brook Farms series, but can be read as a complete standalone. *HEA Always*

First off, a big thank you to Renee and her team for the ARC of Wild for You in exchange for an honest review!
This book was a cozy fall read, ideal for anyone craving that “Hallmark movie in a book” feel. With cowboys, small-town charm, and tropes like the best friend’s brother it delivered on comfort and warmth. While the story was a bit predictable for my taste, that’s not necessarily a drawback—sometimes you want something light and familiar. Still, I found myself wishing for a little more tension to keep me on my toes.
I really enjoyed the chemistry between Andrew and Kelsey and appreciated how caring he was toward her. Bonus points for no third-act breakup! However, their relationship felt a bit too rushed, jumping from friendship to full-blown romance almost instantly. I would have loved to see a slower build that explored more of the “in-between” moments.
Overall though, if you’re into cowboys, small towns, and cozy romance, Wild for You is worth a try!
Give me a grumpy hero and I’m 🫠 every single time and Andrew was a quintessential grump. Kelsey was pure sunshine even if she uses cheer to mask some deep pain, I so felt for this woman. This also has surprise pregnancy, but it’s not his which is my favorite kind of surprise pregnancy. There’s something about the way a man stepping up to take care of a woman and child that isn’t his that just makes me swoon. Add in age gap, small town, cowboy, found family and sisters best friend and this one was great! If you like those tropes and a side of drama too, give this a try
Y’all. I am obsessed with this book. I literally just finished it and I wish I could read it for the first time all over again. The grumpy x sunshine dynamic between Andrew and Kelsey just can’t be beat! The banter was so great!
I am a sucker for an age gap romance and this one really delivered. Andrew starts off as the ultimate grump but that changes so quickly when he realizes his feelings for his sister’s bestie! This man went full throttle into supporting and spoiling her. From taking care of her when she’s sick, to going to all of her doctor appointments, there is just so much to love about Andrew!
He’s always felt that he needed to be amazing in order to deserve the love that his stepfather and siblings had always shown him. He doesn’t feel like he deserves to take of the family’s farm and that leads him to secretly competing as a bronco rider. When he gets injured, his family finds him the perfect live in nurse/physical therapist.
Kelsey has just lost her boyfriend and dream career in the same day. Just when she begins to wallow, her friend asks her to take care of her grumpy older brother.
Kelsey comes off as a sunshiny person but deep down she struggles with a complicated relationship with her mother. When she finds out some unexpected news, Andrew steps up immediately. Together, Andrew and Kelsey heal and start to dream of a future together.
tropes: best friends brother, workplace romance, cowboy mmc, small town setting, grumpy x sunshine, age gap
I really wanted to enjoy this book. The drama, the forbidden romance, the way he takes care of her, their overall banter and clash of personality (grumpy x sunshine) was fun to read however, the amount of drama that unfolded was a little more than I could wrap my head around and the quick development from them becoming friends to ‘head over heels’ felt a little rushed to me.
Both characters experienced something traumatic that completely uprooted their lives and required them to make major adjustments to their once normal living situations. While Andrew being the grouchy character took to moping and reluctantly followed instructions in order to make a full recovery, Kelsey took the initiative of becoming his physical therapist with a bright smile and positive outlook. The way she handled his every comeback and comment certainly didn’t go unnoticed, she enjoyed her job and definitely knew what she was doing when it came to handling men in sporting careers.
Their attraction at the being was gradual and I enjoyed the flow of the storyline and the way the plot seem to form, but once they crossed that line from strangers to friends it was an exponential climb to lovers and to then obsessed. There were certain factors I feel went amiss when it came to them dating, things that should have raised some higher concerns and should have been eased in with caution but it read like it did the opposite.
The family dynamic of the Easterly’s was so refreshing, Andrew’s parents were so accepting of Kelsey and the way all his sisters helped when it came to shopping, and getting her settled in Ashfield was so heartfelt. The way they all conversed with each other (husbands included) was judgement free, and the typical sibling banter you would expect from a large family. The beautiful imagery of the small town and the farm was like you were there experiencing it all for yourself, the beginnings of fall, drinking hot coffee and wearing oversized sweaters. Despite my initial thoughts, it was still a beautiful romance, and for the acts of service lovers this one is for you.
I would also personally thank Renee harless for sending me an advanced copy of ‘wild for you’ 🤍
I don’t know what it is about an accidental pregnancy (but not his baby!) trope but I will eat it up every single time! Renee Harless knocked it out of the park with this one!
Wild for You was a charming and delightful small town found family read with a swoony broody MMC!
I absolutely adored this one! It was so cute!
A definite read if you like: 🤰🏻 Accidental Pregnancy 🥹 Broody but sweet MMC 🏡 Small Town 💕 Found Family 🤠 Secret cowboy 🤫 Sisters best friend
first off, i want to thank renee and her team for the arc copy of ‘wild for you’!
this was such a cute & cozy romance and quick read. i liked kelsey & andrew together so much!
however, the relationship seemed too insta love for me, and a little bit cheesy. i also found myself wanting more. somethings seemed really rushed/sudden, and i wish there was more build up!
but overall, i did enjoy the story and the plot!
what to expect: - insta love - forced proximity - secret relationship - surprise pregnancy - small town - best friends brother - age gap - cowboys 🤠
I have been waiting for Andrew's redemption, in previous books, I didn't have the best impression of him, but boy oh boy, redeem himself he did. He definitely started out grumpy, and assholey, but Kelsey's resilience and sunshine personality had him falling hard. I found these two balanced each other out well, and while she had some terrible people in her past and unfortunately in her family, the Easterly's definitely made her feel like one of their own.
Sports PT Kelsey has been in a situationship with a pro ball player for about a year when things go south. She’s called during the offseason to small town USA to rehab her best friend’s older brother who’s recovering from injuries resulting from participating in an underground, unsanctioned rodeo. What she didn’t count on was falling for the hunky hot mess. Of course it turns out Kelsey’s also a hot mess of the permanent kind.
Having never felt as though he fit in with his siblings due to their differing bloodlines, Andrew works off the stress of being responsible for the family farm and earns nonreportable cash by entering in sketchy rodeos where betting takes place as at a horse race track. After suffering a concussion and several bodily injuries, Andrew returns home where his sister’s best friend has been tasked with helping him rehab and recover. He wasn’t prepared for the seemingly bookish, innocent young woman to be an erotic novel aficionado and temptation in Chucks.
Their relationship is supposed to be professional, transactional, fake, and brief, but those rules seem to be going out the window. Secrets and circumstance might tear apart their arrangement before they can even figure out how to define it.
Three point five rounded up to four. While this has some of my favorite tropes: nerdy-ish girl vs. hunky best friend’s brother who happens to be a cowboy, underestimating the FMC, etc., Kelsey was unfortunately a massive doormat where her mother was concerned, and through the first convoluted half to two thirds of the book allowed things to just happen rather than making things happen. Also Andrew’s fixation on his “otherness” in his family wore thin quickly, as it was evident how much they all loved him and kept him included in their lives. There’s a LOT going on in this less than 400 page novel, which might have been better with some streamlining of plot elements.
I received an advance reader copy from The Author Agency and bookfunnel, and I’m sharing my honest review.
Get ready to escape to a sweet small town with some amazing people where a forbidden love blooms between Kelsey and Andrew. It's swoony. It's slow burn goodness. It's spicy and sinful. The forced proximity and age gap part added to the tension and insane chemistry. Andrew is an alpha hero through and through. He is bossy and possessive and protective to the highest level. Kelsey is such a sweet loving soul who was searching for a place to belong to and someone to call her own. This town and Andrew gave her everything.
✔️ small town romance ✔️ best friend’s older brother ✔️ forced proximity ( Kelsey living with Andrew as physical therapist and caretaker as he recovers from his life threatening injuries) ✔️ grumpy - sunshine ✔️ single mother ( pregnant with baby from her ex)
Andrew lived with a chip on his shoulder. Because he never trusted or felt close with step father even when his stepfather was an incredible man. Now he is unsure about taking charge of his stepfather's family farm and at that point, he has the massive accident during his secret adventure..being a star rodeo. He hates to be dependent on anyone else and that's why he was extra hard on Kelsey. She has been heartbroken recently and her awful ex got her fired from her job with the team. This job isn't just a job for her. There is this sizzling hot chemistry between them but they kept on ignoring it for a long time. But Andrew was enticed by her beauty and her heart and her personality. Kelsey couldn't help but fall for a man who is so mindful of her needs and so supportive. The baby could have been a curse specially when the father didn't want to have anything to do with it. But with Andrew, it was a blessing. He stood by her at every step. Kelsey filled his world with lots of light and love and he found himself doing something he never thought he would do..to fall in love with an amazing woman and build a happy future with her. I love Easterly family so much. They are a loud loving amazing bunch. Andrew and Kelsey kept their relationship secret for a while but they had nothing to fear. The family has their back.
Tropes: Cowboy Best friend's brother Forced proximity Surprise pregnancy (not his) Age gap
First of all, many thanks to Renee and her team for the ARC that I enjoyed so much.
Andrew suffers a fall at his rodeo and ends up in the hospital. Now he will have to tell his family that he is his famous underground rodeo champion.
Kelsey has just been fired from the Nashville Bears for being in a relationship with one of the players and this turns her life 180 degrees.
From the beginning I was hooked on the book, they mention to me that there is a pregnancy and that's when I go to read it😌
It starts well but when they introduce the protagonists Andrew seemed very rude to me but we passed it on because as we continued reading he is a super nice man, he literally falls first and very deep because his life becomes her. When Kelsey finds out she's pregnant by her ex-boyfriend, Andrew doesn't care and starts saying that they are his and this surprises Andrew because he hadn't behaved like that with a woman in his 20s. Something that surprised me was the age gap because I didn't feel it at all, I felt it halfway through, which is where they start saying it frequently and I realized it. Andrew has money 🫦 and literally when he sees that Kelsey is in financial trouble he tells the whole town not to accept anything from her that it goes directly to his account. WE LOVE.
Now Kelsey, my little girl who wanted to cry with her, has mommy issues because her mother, even though she has money, spends it on luxury things and is left without any money for her rent or food and there she goes to her daughter to ask for money, without asking her how she is and she manipulates the poor thing well🫂. Kelsey suffers a lot internally but gives her all to be okay for others and I love her for Andrew🥹, but you can see her character growth in setting limits for her mom.
Andrew's family was a great plus, they were like a found family for my precious Kelsey🫰🏻.
I was in shock with the plot twist at the end, there I realized the level of age gap that the book had and it was something that lowered it a few points but it was solved.
The truth is that if you have the opportunity to read it, do it, it is light and you finish it quickly. It was not difficult for me to read it in English.
If grumpy cowboys, small-town charm, and sunshine heroines make your heart race, then Wild for You is your next must-read. Andrew, the rugged, broody eldest brother with a secret passion for underground rodeos, meets his perfect match in Kelsey, a bubbly physical therapist who just lost her boyfriend and job in one fell swoop. Their connection? Electric. Their chemistry? Unstoppable.
Kelsey’s resilience and positivity shine through every page, breaking down Andrew’s gruff exterior one witty remark at a time. And Andrew? Oh, he falls first—and hard. Watching him go from stubborn patient to protective caretaker is everything. His devotion to Kelsey, paired with the way his family takes her in, makes this story not just romantic but deeply heartwarming.
And let’s talk about the spice—because this billionaire cowboy might be all grump on the surface, but he knows how to turn up the heat. With just the right mix of humor, heartfelt moments, and a plot twist that’ll leave you gasping, this small-town romance will keep you hooked from start to finish.
✨ Why You Need to #OneClick This: • Best Friend’s Brother • Grumpy x Sunshine • Small Town Romance • He Falls First • No Third Act Breakup • Age Gap • Found Family • One Bed Trope • Billionaire Cowboy
This book is the perfect blend of swoon-worthy romance, laugh-out-loud banter, and small-town feels. You’ll laugh, cry, and maybe even want to move to Sunny Brooks Farm.
𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐘𝐨𝐮 is the 5th book in the Sunny Brook Farms series by Renee Harless, featuring a grumpy/sunshine, age-gap, best friend’s brother with an interesting surprise pregnancy twist. Kelsey was a physical therapist who lost her job and her boyfriend all in the same day. Needing a place to start over, she found herself agreeing to help her best friend’s brother recover from a serious rodeo injury. What happens though, when the drama and hits keep coming, and the grouchy patient ends up swooping in to take care of her?
I really enjoyed Kelsey and Andrew’s story! Watching him struggle through his injury, reminded me how men make the worst patients!😆 And yet, as soon as she was down, he 𝘪𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘺 jumped in to take care of her, and was full steam ahead on a relationship. The dramatic twists and turns were interesting throughout the story, but it always comes back to the characters for me, as well as the various relationships. Kelsey and Andrew brought the perfect blend sweet and spicy romance in the midst of the dramatic surprises. I’ve really enjoyed this series, and the bonus scenes was sheer perfection! Although, it did leave with a question! I hope we get more from this world!
I received a review copy for free, and am leaving this review voluntarily. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 🌶🌶🌶
It is always a bittersweet moment in a series that follows siblings when the final sibling gets their HEA but also worth the ride. We get big protective brother Andrew’s story and when I read Aspen and Owen’s I really thought this was going another way but was really excited to see Kelsey back with the Easterly’s.
Andrew and Kelsey find themselves properly meeting after Andrew was injured in the underground rodeo and her horrible ex got her fired from her dream job. They are both meeting while feeling that they lost something important and deal with it in opposite ways. Kelsey is still sunshine and rainbows where Andrew is an absolute grump.
As you learn about both of them even with the 15 year age difference they aren’t so different. And the chemistry just blossoms between them and once the spice hits it hits. I did cry like a baby when Nash and Andrew had their one on one and the situation with Kelsey really brought a full circle for him.
But that PLOT twist that showed I was bug eyed!

~~Quote~~ 🐎 If it’s the right pwerson. I think love can be possible at anytime. 🐎Kelsey was my person, my other half, my soulmate. Now, I just needed to find a way to convince her to take a chance on me. 🐎A single kiss and I was a pawn in her hand, ready for her next move. And the sweet little thing had no idea.
ARC Review - 5⭐️ Wild For You is Book 5 in the Sunny Brook Farms series featuring Andrew Keyes & Kelsey Davis.
Kelsey gets fired from her job working with a baseball team as a physical therapist because she was secretly seeing one of the players, which is against the rules. She was his dirty little secret and he chose himself over her, resulting in her getting let go and dumped all in the same day.
Andrew secretly rides horses at rodeos and winds himself up in the hospital with a number of injuries, meaning he will need a therapist to recover. His sisters best friend just so happens to be available and comes to town to aid him in his recovery.
Despite his frosty attitude towards her at first, they begin to develop feelings for one another. But when Kelsey discovers she’s pregnant with her exs baby, will that put an end to her and Andrew before they even truly begin?
Wow this book was so good, I was hooked from the first page! Andrew was the kindest soul despite his frosty demeanour and Kelsey was just so funny and sweet ! This was my first Renee book but I can’t wait to read more !
Thank you so much to Renee Harless and her team for sending me this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
It’s safe to say I love a small town, interconnected standalone romance series, therefore, I knew from the get to I would enjoy this! Additionally, I don’t know if it is because I’m an eldest sibling, but I am DOWN BAD for the “someone is ill or injured and the other nurses them back to health” trope so again, I was being well fed with this one!
I really enjoyed Kelsey and Andrew’s relationship - but due to his grumpy nature, the forced close proximity I perhaps would have wanted to suffer through a little more angst or tension between the two. However, in saying that I still very much enjoyed their story together.
Kelsey and Caleb’s storyline, understandably, made me want to rip my hair out and throw my kindle against the wall. However, I remained strong and my kindle will be eternally grateful.
I will also add that at no fault of anyone but myself, I do think I would have enjoyed this book even more had I read the previous books in the series first to give a greater idea and appreciation of side characters.
All in all, I thought this was a really good small town romance with plenty of spice (definitely a bonus for fans of it from 50% onwards), love and a good sprinkle of drama.
Cowboy romance is just part of my DNA at this point and I don’t hate it 🤠
Age gap, best friend’s brother, forbidden romance, all the yes. Andrew is a grumpy rancher during the day and an underground rodeo star at night. He gets into a terrible rodeo accident and wakes up in a hospital. He needs physical therapy to repair his broken body. Kelsey is a physical therapist and also his sister’s best friend. She comes to live with him to do PT around the clock and there are sparks immediately🔥
Okay you guys one thing I feel like I need to let all of you know is there is accidental pregnancy in this but not the way you expect? Read it and you’ll see 😂 Anyways cowboy romance until the end ❤️🔥
4.5 ⭐️ Why you will love this book… 🔥Cowboy 💕Best Friend's Brother 🔥Age Gap 💕Grumpy/Sunshine 🔥One Bed 💕Surprise Pregnancy (not his) 🔥He Falls First 💕Taboo Surprise 🔥Found Family 💕Small Town
I loved the banter between Kelsey and Andrew.. I love an age gap but adding the banter made it a chefs kiss in my book!! I loved how Andrew how cared and spoilt Kelsey.. total swoon for me on this part.. Both Andrew and Kelsey have been through something traumatic that made them have to make some major changes in their life’s. I love judgment free Andrew’s whole family was of Kelsey !! If you need a great romance with no third act brake up this is for you!!
Well, can I just say Andrew was definitely worth the wait. Who knrmew the big brother of Sunny Brook Farm would be such a sweetheart?!
Andrew was head over heels for Kelsey very quickly in this book, and I loved it. He was so caring and sweet and downright dirty in the bedroom, amongst other places.
Kelsey and Andrew have the perfect chemistry. I loved how natural their relationship felt.
This book literally has it all. Small town, age gap, brothers best friend and more, and I was hooked from the very first page to the very last.
I have been totally consumed by this series. It's so well written. All of the characters are so likeable, and it's just such a feel good series.
This is the fifth of the series, and I will say this stood on its own, I didn't feel lost or anything. I have no clue what pulls me in about a grumpy cowboy that gets hurt and needs extended help at home and falls for the heroine that is nursing him, but there ya go, it's one of my favs! Then the author throws in a surprise baby, I ate this story up and left no crumbs! This was a very nicely done story, we get some drama, laughs, and some really nicely done chemistry. I give this 4 stars.
OMG IVE NEVER BEEN SO ANGRY WITH A TWIST IN MY LIFE. Okay , maybe I'm exaggerating bc it's fresh but still. I'm clearly the odd man out bc of the ratings but wtf.
Safety Spoilers....
This was probably a 4 star read until the twist where we find out her crazy MOTHER was stalking him after giving him a BJ 10 years ago 🤮 and she was upset about it for approximately 47 seconds. It's not a deal breaker. It happened a decade ago. But couldnt she just be obsessed with him without blowing him?? Yuck. Omg just no. I'll keep 2 stars because I liked it up until 80%.
Forced proximity, best friend’s brother, pregnancy troupe found family small town romance. This is my favorite one of the series so far but I like ones about surprise pregnancy! It’s a well written easy to read and get into storyline! I love Renea’s story’s ! They are very swoon worthy and plenty of spicy but not too dark! I definitely recommend this whole series and give 5 ⭐️
So I wasn't aware this was an age gap book prior to reading it, and I probably wouldn't have picked it up if I knew it was one because I'm just really not a fan. Overall I liked the story, though the 3rd act conflict did gross me out a bit. I did like that Kelsey was asked if she wanted to keep the pregnancy because to me that is important when it comes to unplanned pregnancy.
This is my first book by Renee and I feel so lucky to have received an ARC copy! I can’t wait to go back and read the rest of the books in the Sunny Brook Farms series!
Andrew and Kelsey are the perfect grumpy x sunshine duo. After losing her job,Kelsey goes to help Andrew with his rehab after a rodeo accident. The close proximity has Kelsey softening Andrew’s grumpy demeanor. This book is jam packed with all of the best tropes and the story flows seamlessly!
Some tropes -grumpy x sunshine -close proximity -one bed -friends brother
Andrew and Kelsey were the epitome of grumpy sunshine and I loveeed it. My favorite surprise pregnancy type trope was also done SO WELL. Andrew is the grumpiest and the sweetest and seeing how everything came full circle at the end had me 🥹
Sunny Brooks is one of my favorite places to “visit” and this story continued to build that world and the family.
Tropes: Small Town Best Friends Brother Age Gap Cowboy 🤠 Grumpy X Sunshine 🌞 One Bed 🛏️ Surprise Pregnancy (Not His) 🤰🏻 Found Family Taboo Surprise 😉
Kelsey and Andrew couldn't have been more perfect for each other! They both had a past that came with some heavy baggage that wasn't easy to carry. They both had no clue how to go about being together with Rory being in their lives. They knew that they didn't want to lose each other much less Rory or family in the process.
Kelsey had no clue what she was going to gain when she lost everything. She thought her life was down in the dumps and she thought that she was really going to have to fight for a place to start over. But what she didn't anticipate is Andrew galloping into her life in such a fantastic grumpy way. She knew Andrew because of Rory but had no clue how it was going to work.
Kelsey had so much to gain when she moved in with Andrew, she automatically gained a grumpy Cowboy 🤠. Who was one of the most handsome men even if he was older than her. She was also able to find who she really was once she was away from her toxic ex and her toxic mother. I felt for Kelsey in a way that unfortunately so many other daughters can these days. Having a narcissistic mother is tough, and until you able to come to terms with it and find a balance or let them go it will stay hard. Unfortunately for Kelsey she had a much more disturbed mother.
Even though Kelsey had that unhealthy mother figure she had an amazing mother figure in Marisol! I absolutely loved how Marisol took Kelsey under her wing and loved her in only the way a mother truly can.
Andrew galloped into Kelsey's heart in such a way that she never expected. He came on grumpy because he was a man who had once been hurt but never truly solved the issue of why. Kelsey was able to help him see that his pain was okay to be felt and to be let go. Once he was able to let it go he was able to see that he truly loved Kelsey in all the ways love can truly matter.
I think Andrew like to rodeo under his alias Wyatt because he was able to do something he loved without breaking his family's hearts. He knew it would hurt them in a way unlike anything else. When he got hurt he knew that once they knew they were going to fuss over him and at him. What he didn't see truly was that it was because they loved him and he was such an integral part of the family.
Andrew also hasn't truly accepted Nash as his father even though Nash had long accepted him as his son. I think Andrew always felt as if his dad held that spot in his life and no one could even take it. Until Nash was able to truly speak to Andrews heart, he wasn't able to see the love that Nash held for him all those years. Once he was able to see that he knew that Kelsey and the baby that wasn't his would always be his as long as they were together.
This book gave me so many feelings. It hit me right in the feels. I cried, I felt anger, I felt the hurt of betrayal and I couldn't help but feel like these two were going to make it forever.
The things that I wish we could have seen more of was Kelsey's pregnancy, the engagement and the elopement! I think these things would have been a tremendous edition to the book! I think that we spent so much time building up to all of it and we didn't get to see any of it!
🔥Spice Level: 2.75🌶️/5 🥵
These two definitely had some chemistry that you don't find every day!! I loved that they could share a chemistry that didn't fizzle or take much for them to ignite.
I love seeing couples when they have a little something that gets them going. And these two definitely have that something that not everyone can have and keep alive.
Andrew always knew his family loved him but never felt he was entitled to the ranch-farm the same way the girls were because he was the stepchild in the family. You see his mom was married to his natural father when he was conceived, but unfortunately, he was killed in action in the military. So from that time until the time Nash Everly came along it had been just him and his mom. Andrew Keyes also worked the farm in every capacity as he was taught. His main job is contracts and negotiations, so he is constantly on the road.
But he feels restless and feels like he needs something just for himself that gives him an adrenaline rush. The only person who has ever known he has done this since college is Nate his brother-in-law. That was due to the risks involved, and they were underground rodeos. So you can imagine how Nate was when more than a week had gone by and still no word from Andrew. But Andrew goes by a different name on the circuit especially now that he is ranked number one in bronco riding. However, this time it's landed him in the hospital. Rehab is for sure in his future.
Now Rory’s friend Kelsy had been visiting her for a bit since Colton was back home. After Kelsy’s weekend was over, and the guys were due to come back from their off-season. Kelsy arrived at work and ended up in the front offices with her fellow physical therapist doing the written work-ups for the players. Caleb did text her looking for his wallet she gave him some options, even though she had only been to his place twice. When he found it in the couch under a cushion I’m surprised red flags didn't go up.
But instead, she gave him the benefit of the doubt saying he, and the guys had gone out and probably ended up back at his place playing video games. Back to the second call she gets from the HR department. Saying she needs to come to the conference room. She passes Caleb, and asks if he wants to meet for dinner he says, He doesn't think that's a good idea. But he will call to arrange a time to come pick up his stuff. They ask her if she has been seeing Caleb of course she owns up to it.
He had just been in their conference room before her. She said she had read the handbook thoroughly and there is nothing that says you cannot date someone within the organization. They said it was true, but it was meant as a guideline, but it should be known not to. Yet, several in management are dating within the organization. So when Nate takes Andrew home let’s just say he has, “Splain’nan to do Lucy.” And Rory has gotten Kelsy to be his in-home care Physical Therapist. Andrew is not happy about this one bit. Especially, when he finds out he won’t be recovering at his home but at the cottage, Rory’s rental.
Here’s the problem with this arrangement, there is only one room, one bed, and a small sofa. So they provided an air mattress, however, it started to deflate leaving her on the floor. So Andrew put her under the covers, and he slept over the covers. The small act of kindness was the thing that broke the ice between them. They were attracted to one another, but his pain was causing him to act out. So this close proximity was worth the read for sure. Especially when those two pink lines pop up. Yeah, and Rory is going to have him by the b---! He’s going to wish to horse had taken him out.

I’ve been waiting for this book to exist since I read my first book of Renee Harless, which was the first book of the series that concludes here. Andrew, the big brother of the very adorable Easterly sisters, has been my favourite side character of the series since forever and I wanted him to have a happy ending, but most importantly I wanted him to find himself at ease in the family that his mother had with the lovely Nash Easterly.
Nash married Marisol who was a widow with a young son when the boy was a child. Together they had four more daughters and even if Nash always counted Andrew as his own son, like he were is actual firstborn, the boy has never felt that he was one of them, that he deserved a place in the Easterly farm or that he had the right to carry on with Nash’s legacy.
That’s why he never found his place in the world and the reason behind his participation in underground rodeos, risking everything under an assumed name. Until one day, at the beginning of the book, his luck runs out and he falls of the horse he’s riding. He has contusions and injuries all over his body, so he must start recuperating and having physical therapy at home. Luckily, his sister Rory’s best friend Kelsey is an expert in the field and she’s out of a job thanx to her now ex-boyfriend, so she’s able to move in with Andrew and be his personal therapist for the time being. At first, our beautiful older brother is grumpy and bitter but Kelsey’s patience and sweetness, added to her competence as a therapist, wins his over…
Kelsey is takes incredibly strong woman who takes care of Andrew while she figures out what to do with her life from now on. She not only falls in love with the man but, of course with the entire Easterly family and the small town where they live, wishing in her heart that one day she could have a family quite like them, united and supportive, with the lovely Marisol as the mother she would have loved her own mother to be. But as soon as she moves to Ashfield she finds out that she’s carrying her ex’s baby…
As I said earlier I’ve wanted Andrew’s book since forever. I knew that despite his gruff exterior he was a golden retriever, a cinnamon roll, because he’s always been so caring and protective of her sisters and he’s shown himself to be loyal and reliable time and time again over the books in the series. And I loved Kelsey for him, because they fit like two pieces of a jigsaw puzzle and the picture they create together is one of support and love despite everything. Still, even though I loved the story between them, I think that what I liked the most is that Andrew is no longer the odd one. I loved him with Nash, who’s loved him all his life as a stepfather and father would. Andrew deserves to be the heir of that legacy as he’s the living proof of what being an Easterly really means. Love above all.
I wish I could persuade Renee Harless to write a prequel with Nash’s and Marisol’s story.
This was a fun read overall! I was actually loving the first half of the book and thought it was headed for a solid four stars, but the second half kind of ruined it for me.
In the beginning, I really enjoyed how Andrew and Kelsey’s relationship started off slow and natural. They went from strangers to friends, and I was hooked on that gradual build-up. But once they crossed the line from friends to something more, it felt like things went from 0 to 100 way too fast. It was like one minute they were friends, and the next they were obsessed with each other. I wish their romance had taken a bit more time to develop because it ended up feeling rushed.
One of my favorite parts was the family vibe with the Easterly crew. Andrew’s parents were so welcoming, and his sisters were great, helping Kelsey get settled in their little town. Their family scenes were heartwarming and full of playful sibling banter. Plus, the small-town setting was so cozy. The way the author described the farm, the fall weather, and everyone bundled up in sweaters made me want to be right there with them.
But then, the drama started piling up, and it felt like too much. There was this whole side story with Kelsey’s mom that came out of nowhere and was fixed way too quickly. It honestly felt like it was just thrown in for extra drama. Also, the part where they had to hide their relationship from Andrew’s sister got old fast. It didn’t really make sense, and I couldn’t figure out why it was even a thing.
The writing style wasn’t my favorite either. There was a lot of “telling” instead of “showing,” which made me feel like I was missing out on some of the emotional moments between the main characters. Andrew’s constant feeling of being the “odd one out” in his family got repetitive too, especially since it was clear how much they loved him.
Lastly, the switch from the last chapter to the epilogue was super random. It felt like there were a few important scenes missing, and I was left wondering what happened in between. For a book that’s not even 400 pages, it had a lot going on, and I think it would have been better if it focused more on the main love story instead of cramming in so many side plots.
In the end, I did enjoy the romance, and the chemistry between Andrew and Kelsey was sweet. Big bonus points for no third-act breakup! If you’re into cozy, small-town vibes and acts of service, you might really like this one. I just wish the story had slowed down a bit and given us more time with these characters before wrapping everything up so quickly.
