"Be Kind, Not Nice" is an autobiography by Dr. CP Lee, where he shares his journey, highlighting the essence of leadership, the challenges he faced, and the lessons he learned along the way. The book touches on the importance of kindness, the evolution of technology, and the significance of personal transformation. It's a meaningful account of CP Lee's life, filled with valuable lessons that are especially relevant in today’s technological world.

Personally, this book has taught me about adaptability, the drive to pursue your goals, and the importance of viewing every problem as an opportunity to learn.

The author clearly describes the lessons he gained throughout his journey, such as the importance of problem-solving, adaptability on every page, and leadership—essential for anyone aiming to build a successful team. These are just a few of the lessons I found particularly impactful, but the book offers much more. It not only teaches you how to overcome obstacles but also how to take pride in your hard-earned achievements. Dr. Lee also dives into current technological advancements like AI and 5G, making the book even more relevant today.

One line from the book that really resonated with me is, "A reminder that behind every line of code, every innovation, and every breakthrough, there are individuals with stories, values, and dreams." This autobiography is not just about learning facts; it's a deep dive into the transformation of a technology executive. It offers a clear picture of how things work in the tech world and the obstacles Dr. Lee faced while chasing his dreams.

CP Lee's book Kindness Over Gentleness: The Story of a Tech Leader is definitely worth the read. It discusses the balancing act of having power and yet maintaining a gentle approach in the tech industry. Dr. Lee writes about his own experiences as a tech leader to illustrate how some people are capable of both being kind and being strong at the same time.

The clarity of the presentation on how one should lead by empathy was appreciated about this book. The progression of Dr. Lee, having begun with less privilege than where he is positioned, is formed through principles upon which he sustained himself under unfavorable conditions. These frank tales reveal priceless ideas and suggestions to others looking forward to elevating themselves within the framework.

Similarly, he separates kindness into what he calls courage, and he also sets high standards for politeness. He thinks that genuine leaders need to make difficult choices between giving honest feedback and fighting for ethical decisions, no matter how frightening the challenges are. This is necessary in establishing trust and respect.

Dr. Lee's writing is convincing and clear, and his suggestions on how to apply these ideas in the context of daily leadership situations are practical. This book provides insightful advice on compassionate leadership and success for all leaders regardless of their experience level.

I strongly suggest Kindness Over Gentleness. It encourages readers to grow their leadership skills and, yes, become kinder. Refining leadership skills focused on making a positive impact in the workplace, this book is beneficial.

In a world where capitalism is strived for, we must not lose our touch with kindness and being an ethical leader. Most of the times these makes up the perception of the brand be it any industry and people tend to admire those brands more. This also ensures longevity of the company’s existence.

Coming back to this book, It’s like an autobiography by Dr. CP Lee, the incidents drawn from his life made for a great and interesting read. For instance his one sentence which made me realise that everything I do, I do by choice and that line made me feel so motivated i.e. “It was a choice to step into a world where innovation knows no bounds, where challenges are opportunities in disguise, and where the pursuit of excellence is a never-ending quest.”

One of the key messages in this book is that kindness isn’t just about making people happy but it’s about being honest, making tough decisions, and helping others grow. He explains that sometimes, being too nice can actually cause more harm than good. Real kindness builds trust and respect. Be Kind Not Nice is a great guide to being both caring and strong.

In a society that aspires to capitalism, we must maintain our moral leadership and compassion. Regardless of the industry, these factors typically shape people's perceptions of the brand and make them more admired. Additionally, it guarantees the company's longevity.

Returning to this book, it is essentially an autobiography of Dr. CP Lee; the events from his life are fascinating and enjoyable to read. For example, his line, "It was a choice to step into a world where innovation knows no bounds, where challenges are opportunities in disguise, and where the pursuit of excellence is a never-ending quest," inspired me greatly and helped me realize that everything I do is a conscious decision.

Kindness is not merely about being happy to others; it is also about being honest, making hard decisions, and helping others develop, based on one of the book's central teachings. He explains that there are situations when being too kind could be more detrimental than helpful. Genuine empathy builds respect and trust.
