Draw Write Now #1

Draw Write Now, Book 1: On the Farm-Kids and Critters-Storybook Characters

Rate this book
Experience life on a farm while drawing and writing about horses, cows, tractors, and more! Children will learn all about farms and farm animals while enhancing their writing and drawing skills. The books are simple enough for a young child to do independently, but a teacher or parent may present the lessons. The back of the book features teaching tips for each topic. Each drawing lesson includes a colorful picture and step-by-step instructions, while the writing lesson includes four simple handwritten sentences. Each section also includes a wealth of fun facts about the topic at the end. The teacher or parent may introduce letter formation, have the children copy the sentences for handwriting practice, or use the lessons as a springboard for creative writing or report writing. Developed by an elementary school teacher and co-authored by her daughter. A list of the 21 lessons includes: Hen, Pig, Sheep, Cow, Horse, Turkey, Barn, Duck, Goose, Tractor, Girl, Boy, Cat, Dog, Birds, Swan, Rabbits, Little Red Hen, Three Little Pigs, Three Bears, and Gingerbread Boy.

If you are familiar with Draw Write Now you will notice some formatting changes to accommodate viewing on the Kindle. The handwriting pages feature sentences for children to copy on their own handwriting paper, and do not feature handwriting lines like in our print version.

My 6 yr old is really into this book right now. She's learning to understand the steps in the drawing process. The difficulty levels give her a few easier wins, and some she has to practice to see improvement on.
