15 years ago, Andi’s sister Caroline vanished from their hometown on Hilton Head Island.
With the anniversary of her disappearance approaching, the locals are once again gossiping about what might have happened all those years ago.
As Andi prepares to return home to mark the occasion, the devastating news comes that another young woman has disappeared under similar, strange circumstances. The police are calling it a likely runaway, but Andi thinks something more sinister has happened to the victim. And she thinks the same about what happened to her sister, Caroline too.
Fresh out of a divorce, Andi decides to remain on the island and find some answers. She reconnects with her old childhood friend, James, and together they vow to discover what happened to Caroline and lay the past to rest.
With a chance to close the door on tragedy and begin afresh, will Andi finally find the answers she's desperately looking for?

This is a great story about Andi coming back and the mystery what happen to her sister disappearing many years ago. Thank you June for this marvelous story.
June Woods starts this new series off with a bang, or is that a yell to “get away”? Either way, she hit on one of my pet peeves, reporters. As many do when finding themselves in a tragic situation, even after 15 years, Andi is confronted by reporters, with their intimidating microphones and recorders, invasive questions and innuendos. It is already obvious they’re going to give Andi, James and Andi’s mother, a hard time with the new disappearance of a young lady that closely resembles Caroline, Andi’s sister that disappeared. Was she kidnapped, a runaway or dead? I’m sure the search for the answer will be interesting.
I found this book to be a bit deceiving in its description. It is part of a 6 book series and you have to read all of them to find out what happens in the end. It should have been written as one novel with 6 parts. I had thought it would be a quick read set in one of my favorite places in the world, but I had to read all six to figure out what happened. It was an enjoyable series, though! I just don’t want someone to but book 1 and be left hanging! Just consider all 6 books to be one and it works! I was also hoping the author would talk more about the actual island and describe it in her own words. It was just another book set in the low country.
This is a great beginning to a new series. It will keep you in suspense. It may be a short read but there is a lot of information that I can’t wait to see what happens. I received this as an arc and I am leaving my honest review
The first book of this Hilton Head series already has me hooked. I love the characters and their history as they become reacquainted. I am anxious to read the next book to continue the story and the mystery.
This short book is a great start to the Hilton Head Series. It is well written and engaging. I cannot wait tonfind out in book 2 where Andi's story goes.
Great start to this new series. This is a topic that happens all too often. A young girl goes missing and the family is left with no answers. Andi comes home for the anniversary of her sister's disappearance. She runs into her former best friend just when she needs him the most. Another young woman, who eerily looks just like Andi's sister Caroline also goes missing. I was given an advanced reader copy of this book and I can't wait to see what happens next.
Easy mystery that takes place in my favorite place. Only drawback is that it is a 6 mini book series so you have to read all 6 to find out what happened to Caroline…
