Wonder and Worship: 65 Days of Devotion

Rate this book
“The Bible is alive, it speaks to me, it has feet, it runs after me, it has hands, it lays hold of me.” – Martin Luther

The Bible is alive, indeed. The more a person studies it, the more alive and active it becomes in their life.
WONDER & WORSHIP is a unique devotional, with weekly opportunities:

• To worship, digging into the meaning behind well-known hymns
• To enjoy full lyrics of favorite and meaningful songs
• To build wonder and challenges from rarely addressed biblical facts
• To investigate nuggets of wisdom from lesser-known Bible verses

With such knowledge from scriptural sources not often studied, it is the hope that readers will meditate on the devotions in this book. Not only will they leave inspired, but they will also grow in their knowledge of Scripture. And the worship sections each week support and enhance the nuggets of wisdom as well.

In addition, each week investigates a section of God’s Word and a fruit of the Spirit to allow readers the chance to internalize all of the wonder and the worship.

This book packs a lot into 65 days of devotion. It covers fruits of the Spirit, tying them to different sections of the Bible and covering the entire Bible by the end. A hymn is used to highlight each devotion, and I was introduced to many I didn't know. I especially like the Bible nuggets, short pieces of little known information on particular aspects of a Bible story, and how author Harriet E. Michael uses her upbringing as a missionary child in Nigeria to illustrate many points.

Harriet Michael and Shirley Crowder are excellent storytellers, so I knew this devotional would be interesting. I loved the addition of the beautiful old hymns in Crowder's offerings. What a wonderful way to begin your day, with thought-provoking stories, scriptures, and familiar hymns.
