I learned a lot from this book about how strange sex can be and is. Lots of easy to digest animal knowledge in here but what threw me was all the talk of abnormally cruel and non-beneficial animal experimentation in here. This was written in 1988 and the author should have at least given a small nod that observation under these conditions is flawed not to mention disgusting especially after praising the creatures' intelligences.
