The newest graphic novel in the #1 bestselling series by Dav Pilkey, the author and illustrator of Dog Man!
The Cat Kid Comic Club is in crisis! After learning that one of their comics will be published, the baby frogs are filled with anxiety and doubt. How will they get their creative groove back? Will Naomi or Melvin emerge as a leader? Will Flippy convince them to finally straighten up and fly right?
The story is hysterical, thought-provoking, and full of action-packed mini-comics: "Frogzilla vs. Mechafrogzilla," "I Am Dr. Fredric Wertham," "Two Birds," and "RoboChubbs." Bestselling author-illustrator Dav Pilkey shows the reader that the best way to influence people is to be open, gentle, and kind. The variety of art styles, paired with Pilkey's trademark storytelling and humor, inspires imagination and innovation for readers of all ages.
For more hilarity and heart, dive into the newest graphic novel in the Dog Man series: Dog Man: Twenty Thousand Fleas Under the Sea. And don't forget the series that started it all: Captain Underpants! A new edition of The Adventures of Captain Underpants includes a brand new Dog Man comic!
David "Dav" Pilkey (b. March 4, 1966), is a popular children's author and artist. Pilkey is best known as the author and illustrator of the Captain Underpants book series. He lives near Seattle, Washington with his wife, Sayuri.
The comic/poem “Two Birds” from this book is one of the most beautiful things I’ve read in children’s literature (or any literature!) in a very long time.
Yes, I'm counting this in my reading goal for the year. It may be a kids book, but lots of adults could learn something from this book. Also I don't think kids understand what quantum state is so I'm guessing that part was more for me. Excuse me I have to go explain quantum physics to my 4th grader. Also, Two Birds. Uffda.
Cat Kid Comic Club: Influencers is the fifth instalment in the series.
As a primary school teacher I am very familiar with the DogMan comics and its spin off series Cat Kid Comic Club. Students across year levels absolutely love these books and they are definitely going to enjoy this next instalment.
Lil’ Petey and the Frogs are back! But something’s wrong! In this book the Comic Book Club is no more and the characters tell the story of why and what they are going to do about it!
Influencers has all the humour and heart and fun the kids have come to expect from these books. The illustrations are colourful and fun and the writing is short and snappy, which keeps young readers engaged. I highly recommend this for fans of the series and new readers alike.
Thank you Scholastic Australia for the gifted review copy.
my son aged 6 loves these books (basically anything by Dav Pilkey is brilliant) as much as I enjoy reading them to him. he likes to read on his own now as well, and these are great for him learning to read. "another 5 star book" in my sons own words. personally, I rate it about 3.5-4☆ can't go wrong with these. Great introduction into comics for ages 5-8. fun and colourful. highly recommended.
The best book I ever found was probably this one!!!!😂😂😂 I can't stop reading it and I can't wait to read the next book. David Pilkey is one of my favorite authors.!!!
Kids graphic novel, 5th in series. Dav Pilkey surprised me again with the depth of his content. This book tackles the idea of influencing others. It goes back to the famous book "how to Win Friends and Influence People." And the main idea Naomi gets from that book is that if you are nice to people, they are more likely to help you out. Not a bad lesson for us all. This book is much more enjoyable if you have followed along with the series.
I read this one with my boy (well, he read it to me). I love loved the poem/story about the two birds! I always really enjoy the Cat Kid Comic Club books.
My son loves the series, it's amazing. This is not just any graphic novel but it has inspired him to write his own novels. Extremely happy to see such a creative mindset coming out of a book
Read with my son. He loves Dog Man but especially loves Cat Kid Comic Club. It's funny, but it actually teaches kids good stuff to know, from how to draw a giant robot, to the comic book code, and self worth. Very good!
