Rubina Ramesh is an avid reader, writer, blogger, book reviewer and marketer. She is the founder of The Book Club, an online book publicity group. Her first literary work was published in her school magazine. It gave her immense pride to see her own name at the bottom of the article. She was about 8 years old at that time. She then went to complete her MBA and after her marriage to her childhood friend, her travel saga started. From The Netherlands to the British Isles she lived her life like an adventure. After a short stint in Malaysia, she finally settled down in the desert state of USA, Arizona. Living with her DH and two human kids and one doggie kid, Rubina has finally started living the life she had always dreamed about – that of a writer.
When the author announced that she was planning a romance for Govind (who had been introduced in the first book in this trilogy, and had also grabbed his space in the second), I was amazed. But Rubina Ramesh has done perfect justice to Govind's romance with NRI Kiara. Enjoyed every scene. A must read if you like reading the romance genre.
In this captivating story, we are introduced to Kiara Dutta, a young woman grappling with unresolved feelings of abandonment due to her father's disappearance when she was just five. Raised in the Netherlands, Kiara’s world is turned upside down when she learns of her mother’s upcoming remarriage. Determined to confront her past and protect her family’s future, she embarks on a journey to India in search of closure. But things take an unexpected turn when she crosses paths with Govind Singh, a self-made entrepreneur who is determined to carve his own path, away from his family’s traditional farming business.
Despite their contrasting backgrounds — Kiara’s sophisticated upbringing in Europe and Govind’s modest life in the small town of Toosa — their encounter sparks an undeniable chemistry. Govind, who lacks formal education but possesses a sharp entrepreneurial spirit, is initially focused on his responsibility of getting Kiara to her destination. However, their shared journey becomes a tapestry of amusing misunderstandings, cultural clashes and moments of genuine connection.
As Kiara seeks answers to her past and Govind yearns for independence, their evolving relationship challenges them both. The narrative beautifully captures their struggles and the growing attraction that, against all odds, blossoms between them. Their story highlights that love doesn’t just bridge gaps between people; it can also illuminate paths to healing and self-discovery.
The author skillfully weaves a tale that balances humor and heartache, showing how love can thrive even amidst the complexities of life. Can Kiara and Govind overcome the barriers between them and break the cycle of their parents’ mistakes? This heartwarming story explores love’s unpredictable nature, where laughter and tears are inseparable companions and finding oneself is the first step to finding love.
'The Impossible Affair' by Rubina Ramesh is the story of Kiara Dutta, an MBA graduate, residing in Netherlands, and Govind Singh, a successful entrepreneur. Govind isn't highly educated, but managed to become a successful transport business owner, at the small town of Toosa. Kiara on the other hand was raised by her mother and sought closure to her dad's disappearance, when she was just a child.
Kiara decides to confront her dad and embarks on her journey to Toosa, India. As fate wanted Govind and Kiara to meet, they met unexpectedly and their chemistry blossomed throughout the story. They were quite the opposites, but were attracted to each other no matter what!
As the story progresses, many unrevealed secrets of the past come forth to the readers. My favourite part of the story is when Kiara gets to find out the truth of her father's disappearance from her life. Kiara was surprised to know about the truth about Rakesh (her father) and Avantika (her mother). Kiara always believed it was her father's fault that she was raised by her mother alone, but what she heard from the Singh family, left her dumbfound and speechless.
The book presents the themes of love, grief, heartache, and humor. All the characters are well developed and their uniqueness adds a layer of intensity to the story, which made me stick to the story. The book is full of romantic scenes and family dramas with a hint of humour. Kiara and Govind's relationship was fun and lovely. Their personal struggles made the book more interesting. The author's writing style is quite fast paced and the language used is lucid and easy. Kiara and Govind's love story was a heartwarming presentation of 'Opposites Attracts.'
"The Impossible Affair" by Rubina Ramesh is a delightful rom-com that takes readers on a journey filled with laughter, drama, and heartwarming moments. While the entire book is a joy to read, the best part for me was the dynamic between the two main characters, Kiara and Govind.
Their interactions spark with wit and charm, creating a palpable chemistry that leaps off the pages. From their spirited arguments to their playful banter, every scene they share is infused with tension and humor, making it impossible not to root for them.
What truly stood out to me was how the author portrayed Govind's character. His cheerful disposition and unwavering determination to carve his own path in life added depth and authenticity to the story. Despite coming from different worlds, Kiara and Govind's love story felt both relatable and enchanting.
Overall, "The Impossible Affair" is a delightful read that effortlessly combines humor, romance, and cultural exploration. But it's the magnetic dynamic between Kiara and Govind that steals the show, making this book an absolute joy to read from start to finish.
"The Impossible Affair" is a fun and heartwarming romantic comedy that takes readers on a journey with Kiara from the Netherlands to Toosa, India. She wants to find her dad, Rakesh, and fix her family. But things get interesting when she meets Govind, a lively businessman. Their banter is playful, but there's also chemistry between them.
As Kiara deals with family drama, Govind becomes a surprising source of support. Despite their differences, they start to fall for each other, challenging what they thought about love.
The story is full of humor and lively characters, like Kiara's grandma and other villagers. Although the pace is quick sometimes, the witty dialogue keeps things engaging. One highlight is Govind's cheerful nature and determination to make his own way in life.
Overall, "The Impossible Affair" is a feel-good rom-com perfect for a light read. It shows how opposites attract and how family can extend beyond blood ties.

The Impossible Affair: The Mismatched Couple Book 3 by Rubina Ramesh is a beautiful romantic comedy. It tells the story of Govind Singh, an entrepreneur from the village of Toosa and Kiara Dutta, an MBA Graduate from the Netherlands. Both of them have their agendas in mind, a life plan to follow through. Govind has to prove to his family that he can be more than his family legacy of farmers. He can succeed in his transport business too. And Kiara has come to India to find answers to her questions. Why did her father never turn back and look for her? Both of them collide and then start a story with romance and comedy and a lot more in between. The story is medium-paced and is very interesting to read. The chapters are short and entertaining. The story is told from both the main characters' sides so it helps in getting an insight into their feelings and lives. The way the situations and feelings are described is a treat to read. Some scenarios are descriptive and funny. They also give an insight into a typical Indian household which adds flavour to the book. I particularly liked the character of Govind. Kiara is seen to be a little bit bubbly at times and yet sometimes she is too sorry for herself. These contradicting personalities did not sit well with me. I liked the part when Taiji takes the side of Govind and a fun camaraderie is seen between them. Also, how she treats him like his own and the way Tayaji has love hidden behind his hard demeanor, is interesting to read. Also, how certain aspects like respect for elders, strict parenting, and an urge to prove oneself are shown in the book, is nice to read. The cover of the book is really beautiful and the title is apt. The way the story revolves around Govind, who is shown in the previous parts too, is really fun to read. A good romantic comedy.
Readers are welcomed into a fascinating universe where comedy and passion coexist together in "The Impossible Affair" by the Author Rubina Ramesh . Raised by her mother in the Netherlands, Kiara sets off for Toosa, India, hoping to reconcile with her father Rakesh who is not there and possibly put her family back together. As she meets Govind Singh, a lively transport businessman with a love of teasing, she has no idea that her life is about to take an unexpected turn.
I enjoyed the scene in which Taiji supports Govind and they form a friendly bond. It's also intriguing to read about how she respects him, and how Tayaji has affection concealed beneath his tough exterior. Also, the book's depiction of some themes such as respect for elders, rigorous parenting, and the desire to prove oneself is enjoyable to read, as is the third chapter, in which Kiara first meets Govind in Chandigarh.
The humorous egoistic back-to-back discussions, declarations, and mind voices all contribute to an intriguing reality. Their quest begins there. I enjoyed their chats as they competed in the subsequent chapters.
Fans of contemporary romance will find the book to be engrossing and thought-provoking, even though the main protagonists and their interpersonal dynamics may need some work after finishing this one.
Rubina Ramesh's writing is reassuring and well-known, yet it has certain predictable twists and turns, like a loving embrace on a chilly night. I can't wait to see where life takes Kiara and Govind in the upcoming chapter of their journey.
Rubina Ramesh's charming romantic comedy "The Impossible Affair" transports readers on an emotional journey full of drama, humor, and touching moments. The relationship between the two main characters, Govind and Kiara, was my favorite aspect of the book, even though the whole thing is enjoyable to read.
There is an obvious energy between them that jumps off the pages as their encounters light up with humor and charm. It's hard not to cheer for them because of the tension and fun that permeate every scene they share, from their furious disagreements to their lighthearted banter.
I like the scene where Govind drops her off at Rakesh's house and, just by happenstance, his mother thinks Kiara is her daughter-in-law. Kiara takes pleasure in the hospitality as well as the sweet and spicy tit-tat between mother and son. Even though she is aware of the timing, she didn't miss the sassy conversation.
The author skillfully combines humor and intense feelings that many Indians who travel abroad solely to make money before returning home can relate to. It is commendable how the characters' foundations and beliefs are portrayed in order for them to absorb the changes. However, I didn't appreciate how casually narcotics were used, either in the Netherlands or in India, where they are grown covertly. Overall, a romantic comedy with a heartfelt ending. It is worth the read, do grab it.
Imagine stepping into a world where laughter reigns supreme, mishaps are par for the course, and love knows no boundaries. Kiara and Govind are the heart and soul of the story, with their chemistry and banter driving the narrative forward. Their individual struggles and growth throughout the story add depth and relatability to their characters. Ramesh explores themes of identity, family, and belonging, offering readers a chance to reflect on their own experiences and relationships.
The pacing of the story is generally well-done, with a good balance of humour, romance, and drama. While some plot points could have been explored further, the overall structure of the book keeps readers engaged from start to finish.
"The Impossible Affair" explores themes of love, identity, and cultural differences, offering insights into the complexities of human relationships. Ramesh's storytelling is layered with allegorical and symbolic elements, enriching the narrative and prompting readers to ponder deeper meanings.

The book's strengths lie in its compelling characters, engaging plot, and seamless blend of humour and depth. Ramesh's ability to create relatable and authentic relationships makes the story feel genuine and heartfelt.
While the pacing is generally well-done, there are moments where the story feels rushed, and some plot points could have been fleshed out further. However, these minor shortcomings do little to detract from the overall enjoyment of the book.
"The Impossible Affair" is a delightful romp through the highs and lows of love, filled with laughter, drama, and heartwarming moments. As a fan of the genre, I thoroughly enjoyed getting lost in Kiara and Govind's world and found myself rooting for their love story every step of the way.
"The Impossible Affair" is a must-read for fans of romantic comedies, offering a perfect blend of humour, romance, and heart. Rubina Ramesh has once again proven herself as a master storyteller, and I eagerly anticipate her next literary endeavour.
"The Impossible Affair (The Mismatched Couple - Book 3)" by Rubina Ramesh continues the journey of Kiara Dutta and Govind Singh, delving deeper into their tumultuous relationship against a backdrop of societal expectations and personal struggles.
Kiara Dutta and Govind Singh are complex protagonists who grapple with their own demons while navigating the complexities of their relationship. Ramesh skillfully portrays their inner conflicts and vulnerabilities, making them relatable and multi-dimensional characters. However, one critical aspect of their portrayal is the lack of consistent character development. While Kiara and Govind show glimpses of growth and self-awareness, their progression feels somewhat stagnant at times. I was yearning for more profound transformations, Especially regarding familial matters.
The dynamics of Kiara and Govind's relationship are both captivating and frustrating. Ramesh expertly captures the push and pull between them as they struggle to reconcile their differences and overcome external obstacles. However, there are moments when their interactions feel forced or melodramatic, detracting from the authenticity of their bond. Additionally, resolving their conflicts felt a tad rushed or convenient, leaving me craving a more nuanced exploration of their relationship dynamics. What balanced it out was the humorous elements that the author had incorporated into their banter and actions.
Despite these minor criticisms, "The Impossible Affair" is a compelling instalment in the Mismatched Couple series, showcasing Ramesh's talent for crafting intricate narratives filled with passion and intrigue. I specifically loved the revelation that Biji and Kiara bring in at about 70% of the book. Nothing more, or we will be walking into spoiler territory. I also loved how Govind craved tea to watch the "drama". And biscuits in a Horlicks jar?! So desi! The whole story reads like a Bollywood script. I was reminded of the film Son of Sardar, except it was the daughter of Sardar here. Insert snickering here 😅.
While the main protagonists and their relationship dynamics may have room for improvement, the novel as a whole offers an engaging and thought-provoking read that will resonate with fans of contemporary romance. I say thought-provoking because, in this book, the readers can see how old-fashioned thinking can tear apart families. While I have not read the previous instalments in the series, after reading this part, I would certainly love to read them.
Rubina Ramesh's prose is like a warm embrace on a cold night, comforting and familiar yet filled with expected twists and turns. I eagerly await the next chapter in Kiara and Govind's journey, eager to see where life takes them next.
Author Rubina Ramesh welcomes the readers with "The Impossible Affair," a romantic comedy with a hilarious yet romantic mood.

The writing style of the author is quite interesting and entertaining. The narration grabs us to read in a fetch. The language is simple and impeccable. The storyline is really delightful to read the mind voices and the real happenings.
As the whole story is quite amusing genuinely, my favorite part would be the third chapter when Kiara enters chandigarh where she meets Govind the very first time. The funny egoistic back to back conversations, statements behind that, mind voices, everything brings an enticing reality. And the journey of them begins there. I really loved the conversations of them competing with each other in the upcoming chapters. Can two people very different from each other fall in love with each other? Can they adjust themselves in an environment that is absolutely opposite of where they belong? To what extent can people go for the one they love?
"The Impossible Affair" is a book that will keep you on the hook. While the protagonist is on a mission to find out who her dad is and why he left them, she finds herself in a village falling in love with someone she never assumed she could love.
From finding her dad to finding out he's getting married again, to falling in love and her frequent arguments with her grandma, what would she do? Or is her fights with her grandma a hoax? A plan they made to bring her parents together?
One of my personal favorite scene in the book is where the portagonist and her grandmother where working together all along to bring together her parents, to right what was wrong years ago. It was such a heartwarming moment on how they played together trying to hate each other while all along they love and respect each other. Reading about their fights since the moment they met who knew they would be working together and plotting so cleverly to even bring her mother to her dads village, to even fake a marriage proposal of her father was quite a smart move.
From finding out the real reason behind her fathers leaving them to finally reuniting her parents, her return was a success but what will happen to her own love story? Will she get her prince charming or will she leave him behind? Will he even stop her or will history repeats itself and seperate two lovers once again? Even if they come together will they be able to compromise together? How will two people from completely different worlds come together? Will it all work out or will it be for the worst?
This book is filled with unexpected plots and the thrill of reading them is quite fulfilling. All romance lovers should definitely turn the pages of this one.

The book "The Impossible Affair- A Romantic Comedy" by Rubina Ramesh is a captivating and engrossing story of two people who are poles apart in terms of their background and personality. But, if there's a spark and understanding nothing can hold you back from connecting with each other.
The two characters of our novel are Kiara Dutta and Govind Singh. Kiara may seem normal from the outside but the internal conflicts that are happening on the inside of her mind have quite a different story. She comes from a dysfunctional family. Her father abandoned her when she was little and her mother is thinking of starting a new life with someone else. She decides to take the matter in her own hands so that she can have closure in her life.
However, things go haywire when she meets Govind Singh. The purpose of her life completely changes on meeting this unique personality. Govind Singh had taken quite a different path in his life. His father wanted him to join his family business. But, instead he started a transport business. Meeting Kiara completely changes his view on life and this takes him on a new journey. The sparks are there but would these two realise their love for each other and let the love in the air reach it's destination.
There is a scene in the narrative in which we can see that Kiara has to leave for Toosa and we know that it's the final goodbye. But, the scene that follows will really make your heart melt into pieces. Govind rushing to the airport to make her stop from leaving and only missing it by few minutes. Kiara, being quite the kidnapper, and making an initative to be back for her lover is one of the sweetest thing that you will read about.
The writing style of the book is strkingly impressive. I had a great time reading this book and I hope that my fellow readers would feel the same.
"The Impossible Affair" offers a vibrant narrative that explores the intersection of love, culture and self-discovery.
Kiara Dutta, a Netherlands-born MBA graduate, has always struggled with the shadow of her father’s mysterious disappearance. When her mother’s unexpected remarriage pushes her to confront the ghosts of her past, Kiara embarks on a journey to India — a trip that becomes much more than a quest for closure.
Enter Govind Singh, a self-made transport entrepreneur in the quaint town of Toosa. Lacking formal education but brimming with ambition, Govind defies his family’s traditional expectations to carve out his own path. When he meets Kiara at the airport, he’s simply tasked with escorting her safely to her destination. But what starts as a routine journey quickly transforms into a whirlwind adventure that neither of them anticipated.
Their chemistry is undeniable, though their differences are stark. Kiara’s polished upbringing and emotional fragility contrast sharply with Govind’s rugged independence and straightforward outlook on life. Yet, amid the cultural misunderstandings and personal dilemmas, they find themselves drawn to each other in ways that defy logic and circumstance.
The story navigates the complexities of love between two people from drastically different worlds. It’s not just about Kiara finding answers to her past or Govind proving himself beyond his humble beginnings, it’s about two souls connecting despite the odds. When It's about love, caste, education, class, and culture doesn't matter. This book has proven to be the perfect testament of Unbiased love between two different people who are opposite of each other.
Love doesn't knock at your door, It just happens when you are not even ready to accept it.
Kiara Dutta wants revenge on her father who left her when she needed him the most. Though her mother is strong and independent enough to raise her as a strong lady but lack of her father's love has made her adamant and mad.
Govind entered her life as a storm that changed her perception of life, love and family. Govind has established a successful transport business without higher education. Love is unpredictable so Kiara and Govind's story also. While reading this I am imagining a South Indian movie where an NRI girl is falling in love with a sweet simple village boy. I enjoyed it. It's like a blend of laughter, mishaps, clashes of thoughts but a journey filled with emotions of anger, betrayal and dream.
I like how the character of Govid is portrayed, who is known to be a charming local complete antithesis of Kiara. But Love attracts both into a phase where they can't control their emotions.
If you want something light to read but full of humour and drama then this is a perfect option to read now.
The Impossible Affair is the 3rd book of the series The Mismatched Couple. It can be read as a standalone so go for it.
"The Impossible Affair" is a funny and heartwarming romantic comedy by Rubina Ramesh. It's part of her "The Mismatched Couple" series, and it's just as charming as her other books.
The story follows Kiara, a Dutch MBA graduate, on a journey to find her missing father. But things take a turn when she meets Govind, a successful Indian businessman. Despite their differences, they embark on a journey together filled with laughter and cultural clashes.
Ramesh's writing is inviting and vivid, making it easy to get lost in the story. The characters, especially Kiara and Govind, are well-developed and relatable, dealing with themes of identity and family.
While the pacing is mostly good, there are moments where the story feels rushed. However, this doesn't take away from the overall enjoyment.
Overall, "The Impossible Affair" is a delightful read for fans of romantic comedies. Ramesh's storytelling shines, and I can't wait to see what she writes next.

"The Impossible Affair" invites readers into a delightful world where romance and comedy intertwine seamlessly. Kiara, raised in the Netherlands by her mother, embarks on a journey to Toosa, India, driven by a desire to confront her absentee father, Rakesh, and perhaps mend the fractured pieces of her family. Little does she know that her life is about to take a whimsical turn upon meeting Govind Singh, a spirited transport businessman with a penchant for banter. Their initial encounters are marked by spirited arguments and playful teasing, creating a dynamic where every interaction is tinged with both frustration and undeniable chemistry.
As Kiara navigates the complexities of confronting her father, Govind becomes an unexpected ally, offering support and insight into Rakesh's past. Yet, amidst the chaos of family drama and cultural differences, a burgeoning romance begins to blossom between Kiara and Govind. Despite their disparate backgrounds and personalities, they find themselves drawn to each other in ways they never expected, challenging their preconceived notions about love and relationships.
The narrative pulses with energy and humor, with each character adding their own unique flavor to the mix. From the ever-present Biji, Kiara's grandmother, to the authoritative Tyaji and Manpreet, the ensemble cast brings depth and richness to the story. While the pacing may occasionally feel brisk, the novel's focus on witty dialogue and character-driven moments keeps readers engaged from start to finish. One of my favorite things about this novel is Govind's cheerful disposition, yet his unwavering will to forge his own path. Another feature is that everyone in his village is concerned about and aware of what is happening within their own village, and they are not only living with their own family but consider the village as one big family
Through tears, laughter, and lots of sarcasm, Kiara and Govind's journey in "The Impossible Affair" is a feel-good, standard rom-com that is suitable for easy reading. Furthermore, I cherished how diametrically opposed the characters were, and the writers validated the adage 'Opposites do attract.'
Kiara Dutta has always felt abandoned by her father, who walked out on her and his marriage to Kiara's mother when she was only 5-years-old. When Kiara's mother decides to get remarried after two decades, Kiara has had enough of her absentee father and decides to travel from the Netherlands, and confront her father by visiting him in Toosa, a small village in rural India. What she didn't anticipate was getting attracted to someone in the process, especially not to Govind Singh, the local Romeo, and the complete antithesis of Kiara.
I definitely recommend reading this book, " The Impossible Affair" by Rubina Ramesh. I found this book to be an engrossing romantic comedy that was quite enjoyable. The exceptional rapport between Govind and Kiara, The bond between Govind and Kiara makes "The Impossible Affair" genuinely remarkable. The story is intriguing because of their chemistry-filled, hilarious, and stressful exchanges. Ramesh has a captivating writing style that captivates readers with its wit, humor, and rich imagery. Reading "The Impossible Affair" is a really delightful experience overall, despite a few small pacing problems.
