To stabilize the kingdom, Zaria agrees to make a secret heir with the ruthless prince who tried to assassinate her. Twice. But now that he’s flipped from disdain to desire, she’s sure the keylord couldn’t mean her any harm. Most of the time.
To maintain peace, Zaria’s husband understands the shrewdness of their decision during this crisis. Ever practical, she’s fairly certain he wouldn’t let jealousy threaten their well-intentioned scheming.
For Zaria, the best way to strengthen the kingdom against their enemies is by doing what’s right for the people, and the people she loves most.
The King’s Brother
To keep his family in power, the keylord is delighted to have Zaria where he’s always wanted her, under his thumb. Or perhaps beneath a more… sizable appendage. It was meant to be, after all -- the first-born princess was destined for the true first-born prince.
For Lazlian, the best way to strengthen the kingdom against their enemies is by creating an heir with the woman he was always fated to possess.
The New Prince
To protect the woman he loves, there are no lengths the Boy from Beyond wouldn’t go to keep his wife safe. From the insolent keylord. From the developing threat of a horrific war. And, if necessary, from even himself.
For Kirwyn, the best way to strengthen the kingdom against their enemies… doesn’t matter. Not as much as she does.
What happens when a love triangle becomes a Gordian Knot?
Elora spends her free time pursuing fantasy. Nothing engages her mind like a fantastical new world -- except when that world contains lovers who initially despise one another. She reads and writes these angst-filled pairings from the East Coast of the U.S.
Wow. What a ride! This book marks the end of an era, and I am absolutely blown away. From the first book to the final page of this one, the growth of these characters has been incredible, and I couldn’t be happier with how everything wrapped up. (No but seriously - I cried)
Our FMC is just everything. She’s grown into such a strong, brilliant leader, and her journey has been nothing short of inspiring.
And let’s talk about the two MMCs and our FMC and their relationship. The development of their relationship is everything I hoped for and more. The friendship and growth between the two MMCs – it’s honestly one of the best I’ve seen. The journey from allies to something deeper is beautifully done. The MMCs’ bond with her is something so special, and I couldn’t help but root for them every step of the way.
Also, I have to admit, I’ve seen some fanart and… it’s seriously hot. H O T, hot 🥵
In the end, this is a stunning conclusion to an unforgettable series. Epic battles, emotional moments, and the best character growth. Definitely a 5-star read for me. Can’t recommend it enough!
Infinite stars for this book! I cannot rave about it enough.
Everyone has their own agenda. Juls wants an heir to secure the kingdom from those who are eagerly awaiting an opportunity to strike. Laz wants what he has been waiting for and believes was his all along. Zaria, in his bed. Kirwyn wants to have power over the Dorestes to make sure Zaria and Teddy are always safe. We also get a glimpse of Merie's thoughts and the times she shared with Lazlian. To our absolute surprise, he was gentle, a completely different Laz than we know him to be thus far. Merie also sheds light on the exceptions that are always made for Zaria. She feels as though making the heir to the kingdom is the least that Zaria can do.
The whole process takes a toll on everyone's relationships. Kirwyn struggles with restraint until he feels like he has no choice but to remove himself from the situation completely, to finish things once and for all.
Some of my favorite quotes include: "But by doing this, you're a little bit his too." & "And I am your queen!"
Kirwyn and Laz's relationship changes drastically throughout the book. It went from them trying to figure out how to get rid of each other to them displacing blame and even coming to blows at one point. Eventually, they need each other more than they loathe each other.
Zaria turns into a force to be reckoned with. She is probably one of the strongest female leads that I have ever read about. She grew into her skin, her mind, and her own heart through all of the injustices that her life had thrown her way. She comes out the other end of it made of up complete fire. She has a special place in my heart.
When I finished the book, I closed it. Clutched it to my chest. Starfished on the bed, staring up at the ceiling. Lips trembling, I said, "Oh Jesus...." and then proceeded to sob uncontrollably. This book was an absolute masterpiece. Thank you, Elora, for putting yourself out there and writing this series. My life is forever changed because of it, and I will recommend it until my dying breath.

This entire series has my heart. And this book was the perfect conclusion to the story.
It's been a long time since a book affected me so much. When I finished it, I found myself staring into space with an ache in my chest. I cannot emphasis how wonderful this book is!
So, Zaria has agreed to make "The Heir" with Laz and it got spicy in Part 1, but I had no doubt about that happening. It was what followed in the later Parts that pulled every emotion forward. I knew there would be a relationship slide for Zaria and Laz, but it was the growth between Kirwyn and Laz that I absolutely loved. And the outcome was fantastic and believable. Honestly, I did not want this to end.
The ending left me enthralled and heartbroken. I don't think I've cried so much at an ending before, but it was the perfect conclusion. (I'm getting teary thinking about it now.)
This whole series is a five star read. Thank you, Elora, for writing such an amazing series. Can't wait to read more from you.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Amazing conclusion to what's become one of my favorite series. I felt all the emotions reading this one and found it the perfect way to end Zaria's story. Morgan took the story in directions I didn't expect, but enjoyed nevertheless. Morgan crafts such fascinating characters and seeing them interact with each other and form (sometimes complicated) relationships is truly a delight. I will continue to recommend this series to everyone I know and can't wait to read Morgan's future work.
Ultimately, this series is my Roman Empire, and I haven't stopped thinking about it since I read the very first book.
What an amazing way to end out and even amazing series prior to reading this book, I went through and did a reread of all of them and the way that you can actually watch all of the characters, mature and develop and the authors, writing style mature overtime, it warms my heart. I definitely shed a few bittersweet tears, knowing that this was the end, but it was definitely worth it. I highly recommend this to everyone who is looking to get into a fantasy. That’s not gonna be too aggressive, it’s one of the easier fantasy series to digest in my opinion
She agrees to make the heir to the kingdom “turkey baster” style only, and he sabotages the samples so that they’re unsuccessful and she’s pressured into his bed, where he’s always wanted her.

What an epic ride!!!!!! Elora Morgan out did herself with this last book. I was at the edge of my seat and couldn’t have picture a more perfect ending, that brought me to tears. Zaria, Laz , and Kirwick love story just filled my heart with so much excitement and appreciations for authors like Elora, who really know how to create characters that you love and respect.
This was soooooo good. Such an amazing end to such an amazing series. I love the way the relationship between… some people (I don’t wanna spoil😉but if you know you know) was written. The interactions, the intimacy, the characters. The second book is still my fav but this one almost topped it. Highly recommend well deserved five stars.
This series truly took me by surprise, grateful I gave it a chance. The third book is still my favourite. I thoroughly enjoyed the beginning of the fourth and final book. Though I felt the middle chunk was a bit tiresome and I was a little disinterested at times, the ending wrapped the series up wholesomely.
I really wanted to like this series. The plot was interesting and I liked the characters but the book was just too long and repetitive. A lot of unnecessary details could have been cut to make the story more interesting.
The enemies to lovers part of Laz and Zaria was the only good part of the book. I DNFed it halfway through though. Honestly one of the worst series I’ve read. It drug way too long and the plot just kept repeating over and over.
A wild end to this quartet! I very happy with how detailed the wrap up was done. This was such a fun and dramatic series. I had the best time obsessing over the Keylord.
Omg! So, first, I was super ecstatic when I heard this book was coming out because, we'd be getting more of Zaria, Kirwyn, and of course Lazlian!
This continues on shortly after book 3 ends but, there's a lot to digest (in a good way) as the story progresses. I love how this book really dives further into the reason why some of the MMCs (Kirwyn and Lazlian) are the way they are and how they think. Zaria matures a lot in this book and for me, it's definitely in a good way, I think the softer lenses she views the world in is hardened but, this allows her to forgive some of the things she herself has to do and her men do to get the happy ending she's (mostly) wanted.
I loved how the "bromance" for lack of better term that Laz and Kirwyn have through the trauma they both endure. They both make some pretty dumb decisions which ultimately cause a lot of pain but, without the HEA couldn't have happened the way it did.
I won't give away anymore as it will give some major Spoilers away but, please read this book as it wraps everything up so wonderfully that I couldn't see the series ending any other way.
Thank you Elora for bringing us this story and for writing it so well! I can't wait to read more of your stories!
I have been reading fiction/fantasy almost non-stop for the last 30+ years of my life and there are only a handful that I still think about to this day. While I already loved the first 3 books in this series, this final book is what made it truly unforgettable. It will haunt me in the best way for many years to come. When I remember it, I will feel grateful that I get to relive all the feels over and over again. As other reviewers have mentioned, you absolutely will need a box of tissues for the ending, but you will love every sentence.
