This is a Police Mystery/Suspense, and this is the second book in A Johnston and Fletcher series. I have read the first book in this series before picking up this book. I loved the mystery in this book, and the twists and turns in this book had me wanting to keep reading. The Dr. Johnston's character was driving me in this book. I just felt her character acted very differently in this book vs the first book. I received an ARC of this book. This review is my own honest opinion about the book like all my reviews are.
Skye is recovering/moving on from her foray into law enforcement. She helped Officer Logan Fletch and Riggs solve a murder and now she’s in a bit of limbo with him. She’s also dealing with the reappearance of her sister which is unwelcome to say the least. All of that is put aside when one morning she’s on her way to her swim when she finds a dead body in her doorstep. Now she is wrapped up in another investigation this one a whole lot closer to than she would like. This is another winner! I really like the crime fighting combination of Skye, Logan and Riggs. The realistic portrayal of people and issue without sugar coating is refreshing and enthralling in equal measure. There are tons of surprises along the way with some heart pounding action as Skye and Logan investigate. I really loved the sweet ending to this particular nightmare, I hope there are more books to come in this series!.

First, the only criticism, just a bit too much of a chick's book-too mushy. Now, the real review, Skye Johnston has just a bit too much cahonies. She's someone who needs to be in control but also needs boundaries on those controls. Just because a dead body shows up on your front porch doesn't mean you have to be involved in the police investigation into the death. Or, if you find that the dead body is your half-brother doesn't give you an automatic in to the case, either.
But Skye thinks it does. Then when several other earth-shaking events come to light and throw Skye for a loop, she goes completely off the rails and closes off from everyone, she's unable to cope. This, coming from a psychologist-you know, the folks trained to help you deal with stressful situations? But, I gotta tell you, the conclusion to this story, I did NOT see coming!
Imagine starting your day by finding a dead body on your doorstep. That is precisely the situation Dr. Skye Johnston, a psychologist, finds herself in at the beginning of this rollercoaster ride. She doesn’t recognize the unfortunate man or have any clue why he was at her house. At least Skye does have a friend on the local police force, Logan Fletcher, to call in for help. Their investigation leads them to a shocking discovery for Skye and sets her on a perilous path. This must-read story is filled with drama, danger, and enough complex family dynamics to draw you in and firmly hold your attention right up to the very end. I truly enjoyed the highly suspenseful and delightfully twisted plot filled with an interesting cadre of vivid characters including a K9 officer, Riggs, that is sure to steal your heart. I am hoping the author is planning many more adventures in this riveting series.

Skye craves order to keep her anxiety under control and she'll have all the motives to have a few crisis in this story as she will discover that nothing is as it seemed to be, including her family and their relationships. No Idea Who is an engaging story with strong characters (Johnston and Fletcher) and the cutest K9, it's a short and easy read mystery with lots of intriguing twists and turns. Very entertaining!.

Thoroughly enjoyed this murder mystery. Loved the red herrings and as the title says I had ‘no idea who’ did it. Characters were very real and lovable. I could empathise with them all, even the ones doing bad things. Would recommend to anyone looking for mystery, jeopardy and a hint of romance. Great read. I look forward to reading more in this series.

The story begins with Skye have an argument with her sister Christy. Skye wakes up the next morning and gets ready to go for her normal swim before starting work. As she backs out of the driveway, she spots a boot at her front door. Getting out to check, she discovers a dead body on her doorstep and calls Logan. Once Logan gets there, the site becomes a crime scene. Finding ID on the body, Logan asks if Skye knows this person. He gets no for the answer. Logan is soon assigned to investigate the murder. Logan goes to the M.E. office for the autopsy when Skye shows up. As a result of a DNA test, Skye learns that the body is related to her.
As Logan checks Owen's, the murder victim, financials. He learns about a possible location where Owen was staying. Upon checking the scene, he discovers that another person is there, Owen's brother Freddie. Because of Freddie's reaction, Logan calls Skye for help. Once Skye arrives, she is able to calm Freddie down so he could be taken to the hospital. Freddie had a mental issue that flared up.
Later Logan discovers an address for Owen's mother. He makes arrangements to go there and asks Skye if she wants to come. It was at this point that Skye learned of her father's other family. After the visit, Logan drops Skye off and goes back to the department. Later, Logan receives a call that Bella, his daughter, has had a seizure and is being taken to the hospital. Logan drops everything and races to be with Bella. Skye later learns about Bella and she goes to the hospital to be with Logan and also check on Freddie. After leaving the hospital, Skye decides to take a different way home and winds up in an accident and has to be taken to the hospital.
Skye refuses to stay overnight at the hospital so Logan offers to drive her home. Skye asks to stop at where Owen was staying before taking her home. Upon arriving they found a light on. Going in to check it out, Logan called for backup and they went inside to check it out. When they got indoors, they found another person there.
To learn who the person they discovered, what they wanted and who killed Owen and was also involved in the accident, then you need to read this book.

Corpse on a doorstep brings unwanted knowledge - 4 stars
Skye Johnson sets off for her morning swim only to notice something on her front doorstep which turns out to be a dead man sprawled over her doorstep. Rather than call 911, she calls her close friend Logan Fletcher who is a K9 Police officer who she worked with professionally a few months previously. Neither Skye nor Logan can make an offer to have a date even though they have an apparent connection and seem to be good match for each other. Their conversations are halting which makes learning about the dead body difficult.
Logan wants to earn the rank of detective in the upstate New York town where Skye and Logan work. However, Logan's approach to solving the case of the dead body started haltingly without apparent direction, seemingly waiting for some help from colleagues or a stroke of good fortune. Somewhat surprisingly, Skye wants to be a lead investigator even thought her day job is being a clinical psychologist; she does not want to admit - even to herself - any romantic interest in Logan. Many people in the town seem to expect that Skye and Logan are, or soon will be, an item.
Skye's sister, Christie, recently came to town and has been argumentative, not much different than she was when both girls were growing up. As the story develops, several unexpected family connections are revealed. A major complication is that Logan's daughter Bella is admitted to the hospital forcing even more awkward communications between Logan and Skye.
The best part of the story was a description of calming a mentally disturbed person and encouraging him to submit to be taken for evaluation at the local hospital. Rather than being a mystery/thriller, "No Idea Who" seems to be a romance with occasional joint participation in multiple crime scene investigations. The last chapter ("Epilogue") managed to answer many of the mysteries of the crimes that were committed.
Dr. Skye Johnston, is freshly off of helping Detective Logan Fletcher and K-9 Officer Riggs solve a murder case. Having had an argument with her sister, Christy the night before, she decided to follow her daily routine of having a swim before work. But as she was pulling out of her driveway, she saw a boot sticking out of the front porch boot. After getting out of the car, she finds a dead body. She calls Logan who begins his investigation. When they went to the ME, Skye finds the deceased's DNA is a match with her. His name is Owen. When Logan goes to the place Owen was staying, they find Freddie, Owen's brother there in bad uncontrollable shape. Logan then calls Skye to help calm Freddie down so they can take him to the hospital. Apparently, both Owen and Freddie are related to Skye. Not the roller coaster ride begins that bring Skye to the breaking point as she discovers things about her past and her family she didn't know. Will she be able to get past her angst, put her past behind her to help find a murderer? And be there for Logan when his daughter, Belle has a seizure and ends up in a hospital. Or the fact that Skye ends up in the hospital after an accident. So many threads to weave to a fantastic, surprising ending! This is the second book in this series and I not only highly recommend this book but I recommend the first book in this series as well. The author deftly throws so many red-herrings yet glides you in this page turner to the end. I received and ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.
This is the second book in the series, but the author builds the characters so that you don't need to read the first one. Skye is going about her normal routine to get her morning swim in. She backs out of her garage and notices something on her front porch. She stops the car and goes to check. She finds a dead body lying there. She didn't want to call the police department so instead she calls a detective she worked on another case with. Fletcher gets the call and heads immediately to her house. He had felt there was some connection with Skye during the previous case and then she froze him out. He was hoping this was a chance for things to work out.
This book will explore the relationship between Skye and Fletcher as he investigates the case. She is treated to some shocking revelations and pushes herself into the investigation. There are some twists and turns and it will keep your attention.
No Idea Who by KJ Kalis A Johnston & Fletcher Thriller Book Two Skye Johnston is a psychologist in Highmill, New York. A few months ago, she worked on a case where she met Logan Fletcher and his daughter, Bella. And thanks to his K9, Riggs, she learned to like dogs. But, whatever might have started growing between Logan and her was squashed when her past broke in…her sister Christy. Not to mention her past traumas. Now she’s called Logan for help. Finding a dead man on her doorstep has her pretty freaked out. A man she doesn’t know. Logan hadn’t seen much of Skye. He thought they were heading somewhere, but she backed off. But now, she needs his help. When the case takes some crazy twists and turns, it seems Skye is getting hit on all sides. Another page-turning, exciting story from this author. https://justjudysjumbles.blogspot.com...
A dead body on your front porch, a man you have never seen before and another mystery for Logan and Skye to unravel before more bodies are found. So much for recuperating from the ongoing onslaught of her slightly deranged sister, Christy. Somehow this thriller comes very close to home and that is not just on Skye’s front porch. Is this connected to the inheritance Christy is hounding her about?
This story is not one you will set aside until you figure out what the mystery is and how the pieces all come together. An ARC of this Johnston & Fletcher Thriller was received through BDM, LLC and BookSprout. These impressions are my own and were in no way solicited.
Although I haven't read the first book in this series, I had no trouble getting into No Idea Who. Skye Johnston is a psychologist in Highmill, New York. She is the owner of Seneca Counseling Services. One morning she discovers a dead body on her front porch. Assigned to the murder case is Logan Fletcher. He and his K-9 German Shepherd, Riggs, are tasked with unraveling the mystery. Skye is a strong independent single woman while Logan is a hardworking widower with a young daughter. I enjoyed reading about these characters. This book has a lot of suspense, action, twists, and turns. It kept me turning the pages to see what happened next. Good read!
Amazing Thriller! This was a wonderful thriller, that was based around something that was no thriller at all, until it was! How can a respected psychologist who works hard, and hardly has a life outside of work, have a man show up dead outside her house? Then it gets more twisted from there when they do a DNA on the man, and find who he is biologically connected to. For a sleepy little town that does not get much crime, to a murder, sure changes things around there! Thank you, K.J. Kalis for a great story! I received a complimentary copy of this story and this is my honest review.
Skye, a psychologist, finds a dead body on her porch to start the day. She goes to Logan, a detective she worked with in the past, for help in solving the murder mystery but insists on inserting herself into the investigation. In the end, it turns out that quite a few members of her own family are connected to the case. This is an interesting mystery but the main characters seemed so-so. Still, there are enough thrills to get you through this short mystery.

Dr. Skye Johnson was just pulling out of her garage when she saw someone lying on her front porch. She went to see who it was and what was wrong. What she found was shocking, a young man had been stabbed to death. She immediately called Logan, a local policeman that she had dated briefly. Meanwhile, Skye's sister Christy was in town trying to get money from Skye that she felt she deserved from her the death of their father. The books becomes a real page turner with identity of the dead man and who killed him and why. But, why did he end up on Skye's porch. A great mystery.
Imagine getting ready for the day and finding a dead person on your porch. This is what our heroine encounters to start her day and the book. It gets even more confusing and twisty as the book proceeds which makes this book one that you just cannot put down. And finding out that you have half-brothers just makes this book even more of a read. Cannot wait to see what happens in the next book.

Sometimes I can figure out the ending of thrillers like this but this one had me fooled until the end. I enjoyed the interaction between the two main characters, Johnston and Fletcher, as they struggled with both professional and personal issues. It added a dose of color to an already excellent story. I look forward to more of this series.

This second book in the series starts with Skye finding a dead body and this leads to a bit of conflict between her and Logan. The story develops in an unexpected direction and reveals some of Skye's back story. The killer is finally identified and it was not what I expected. I look forward to the next book in the series.
Even though this is the second book on the series it can be read as a standalone due to the great amount of detail and explanations on the story on this book. As with the first one the book has a lot of twists and turns that make a very compelling read keeping your interest from the beginning to the end. Peaking of ending, it has a great ending, a very unexpected one.
This was an interesting mystery with quite a few turns along the way. The story follows psychologist, Skye, as she comes to terms with family secrets after a person was found dead on her porch. With the help of the local police inspector, Logan, she tries to unravel the mystery. Logan was a likeable, down to earth character who adds a great angle to the story.
This book grabbed my interest from the very beginning. Logan and Skye are interested in each other but Skye is holding back. She finds a dead man in her doorway and tries to help Logan find out who it was. There are several surprises in the story, and you need to read this book to find out what they are. Definitely worth reading.
An excellent and very gripping second book in what is already a fascinating series. The characters are so well written and described and the plot has a variety of twists and turns to keep you reading non-stop. Enjoyed it thoroughly and look forward to book three.
I am loving this series! I can't wait to find out what happens next with Skye and Logan. There are many twists in this story, which makes it a real page turner. Combine that with great character development, and you have a gripping read!
The novel catches your attention from the beginning. Dr Skye Johnston is leaving for her swimming work out when she discovers a body on her doorstep. She calls her police on and off boyfriend Logan Fletcher. Logan shows up with his K9 Riggs. A number of twists that keep you guessing.
A rollercoaster ride at break-neck speed with surprises around every corner. I thoroughly enjoyed it and will be following Skye's and Logan's investigations going forward.
I really disliked the main character. The author tried to make her appear smart but vulnerable. I thought she came off as controlling and needing the same services she provided.
