Found this one at the Smashwords sale a while back,and now that i’m finished i have to say i’m glad i got it.
The setup is that each chapter consists of a short story,and each story deals with some sort of taboo.
Though personally i don’t think they’re all taboos,but that’s just me…..
I enjoyed most of them,and since this was volume 1,i’m hoping there will be a volume 2 somewhere in the future?
3🌟 for Masked Lovers.
Beth and Cory have had a great relationship all their lives.
Unlike so many siblings,they’re close and understand eachother in spite of the difference in age.
Until that fateful night where,freshly single after being cheated on,Beth decides to have a night of incognito sex with a stranger.

This story deals with a very serious theme,nl cervical cancer and endometriosis.
It also has the h,Luna dealing with gynecologysts that don’t take her seriously.
That tell her the pain she endures during her periods isn’t that bad,and she could suffice with painkillers.
Luckily,after moving,she finds a new gyno,one that dóes take her seriously.
She might have been hoping for a female gyno,but Dominic ends up being the best thing that ever happened to her!
If only i had a doctor that’s not only thát good,but that’s a great,véry goodlooking,guy too….
Seriously though….if you suffer from abnormal abdominal pain like Luna,check the symptoms and demand a decent examination from your gynaecologist.

This time Ava and her stepfather Dante have gotten along ever since he married her mother.
But things are about to change…..and not just because he hates how her mother treats her.
Dante has known Hannah had been cheating on him from the start,but he doesn’t really care.
You see,the only reason he married her was because of Ava….

And once he gets her to his house,he explains why he took her.
That makes her accept the situation….until she sees him fucking the woman that brought her new clothes.
His explanation of thát,as well as her reaction,was the last drop for me,hence the 2🌟….

Until she finds 2 masked men in her house after she’d just gone off the phone with the security company and reset her alarms….

Trust takes time to build,not just because they tried to kill her,but because of the trauma she’s still suffering from.
But once the air is cleared,they might have a chance of surviving….right?

I loved all of these stories! Honestly I would love to see several of them turned into full length novels!

The ONLY downfall of this book is I needed more. The short stories just kept getting hotter the further I got in the book. I’d love to see some of these shorts turned into a full novel! You will not regret this book and I’m waiting for my physical copy because I just need it in my library!

This anthology of 15 short stories skillfully explores taboo themes. While some tales left me wanting a longer narrative or even a full novel, I appreciated the unique qualities of each. For those seeking brief, provocative reads, this collection is an excellent choice. Honestly, this book is one you will have to read for yourself to understand the different stories and feelings I can project about this book and how much I absolutely love it.

Phenomenal! Well done, as always! Emily is amazing. Her writing is impeccable. As always, check the trigger warnings. Dark Hearts is a collection of 15 separate novellas. Each has its own theme. Each has a perfect level of spice. 🌶 🌶 ❤️.

OMG Y’all!! Every time I read a book by Emily I have a new favorite, now I have 15. You will definitely get the SPICE🌶️🌶️🌶️ when you read Dark Hearts. You might need to read a few more than once. 😉 Each story has a different theme, no two the same. These are not dark & trauma filled stories like Emily is known for. What you get here is more dark & dirty. You get the forbidden, the scandalous, the erotic, ya know, the good stuff!!

I loved having 15 short taboo stories all in one book. Some of them I really wish was longer or made into full length novels, but I honestly enjoyed each story in their own way. If you want some short sexy reads then you have found the perfect book.

Man oh man... These stories are spicy and they are so good. They don't go together at all but it makes u keep reading because they keep you on your toes as to what story is next and what it has to deal with. All stories make u on your toes. They are amazing and quick reads.

Wow!! These are some spicy short stories/novellas to get your juices going. There are so many different genres, storylines, triggers, spice…whew! Check the trigger warnings folks if you have any but if you don’t, buckle up for a slip and slide of a time! Man that was hot! Or rather it got me hot and bothered! Emily, my husband thanks you! I just loved how they are in a sense “little quickies” that get your motor rev’d. Again, check your trigger warnings, but damn I loved it!

Absolutely loved this collection of stories. There was not one I did not like. They were all fantastically written and if any of these were a full book I would drop everything and read them.
You have so many great taboo stories. One of my favorite stories is “Here Comes the … Bride?”. Nova is suppose to be marrying Brock the next day but she has a fear that he finance Brock and her best friend for over 25 years Ruby are sleeping together. So she rigs her house with hidden cameras and leaves but unreality she is down the street watching the cameras. She sees the two of them talking shit about her and then they start doing some naughty stuff. Nova is absolutely disgusted. She called Rubys boyfriend Abel and asks to meet at a dinner. Nova tells Abel everything and shows him the videos that she has of the two of them together. Abel had a feeling something was going on between the two of them as well but couldn’t prove it. Abel comes up with a diabolical plan to get back at Brock and Ruby.
Abel and Nova will record themselves in a spicy situation and send it to the two of them. Then they will send the video of Brock and Ruby together to all of Nova and Brocks wedding guests. But nova has a better plan in mind. Nova asks Abel to Marry her and then the two of them will go on the honeymoon together. They go have a courthouse wedding and return to Novas house to make a little clip together. They send the little clip to Brock and Ruby who freak out and they send Brock and Rubys clip to the weeding guests, Turn off their phones and go on a perfect honeymoon.
I also loved Double Trouble. Twin step brothers who have been obsessed with their step sister just as long as she has been obsessed with them. However she does not see herself as someone they would like until she moves in with them for college. Things take a quick turn and get really spicy. Darion and Declan claim Mia and make her theirs. Soon things are getting spicy and in walks the parents. Mia goes into a full panic attack but Declan and Darion are their to calm her down. They love Mia and don’t care what anyone says. It ends with Mias saying that she might need to take a pregnancy tests after the parents joke about Mia getting pregnant.
I seriously could write about each story but we would be here all day. Just go read it because its amazing. Also probably don’t read it on an airplane like I did. I might have done a lot of blushing ahaha.

Is it the Good Night Stories for Adult Good Girls 😅 because it was absolutely amazing!! 🤩 I have more than one favorite among 15 stories. Every single one captured the theme perfectly, and it was very easy to be drawn into the story. It is not the book's aim but I wished the stories were longer, especially my favorite ones because I didn't want them to end. Please check the trigger warnings because several stories contain some of the triggers in detail. A must-read!
I liked them all, but some are renting free space in my head. I will reread them soon: Masked Lovers, The Hunting Games, 7 Minutes in Hell, Dr. Obsessed, Dolce Vita, and Extra Credit.
Masked Lovers—That genre is out of my reading norm. I know it was wrong, even though they know it was wrong. I couldn't stop it. But O M G! WHAT?? Even though this is a short story, the way the author captured the characters' emotions while they were going through something emotional and stressful was spot-on.
The Hunting Games—I also wished I had lived in this story. It was absolutely amazing, and I was jealous.
7 Minutes in Hell—Can Zeke and Brett take me, please? This story's ending and the new story's beginning cannot be a coincidence. Very well done, editors! Again, this is (or maybe was is better 😁) not my favorite trope, but Emily Klepp wrote it in a way that makes it attractive to you.
Dr. Obsessed—Luna is one of us, reading a book before an appointment and her reactions 😍. I loved their relationship dynamic and chemistry.
Dolce Vita—I have too many things to say about this, but I do not want to give spoilers. I was way thrown off after the lemonade scene. I was expecting something, but not that! Amazing dynamic, reaction, and responses. Laura is a badass; I love reading about a strong woman.
Extra Credit—It was one of the heaviest, details and everything. Keith is a good support and observant. This was one of the stories that I wished it was longer and showed us their next step.
If I make it like the Oscars, the funniest story reward goes to: Here comes the… bride?

This collection of short stories had stories that made me wince, open my mouth in shock, and turn me into a gooey mess. I'm not a girly who typically enjoys short stories, preferring to read novel length stories and series. However, there is a time and place for everything. And sometimes I'm in the mood for a gritty, depraved, and smutastic read.
The author gets to the action quickly, but that's the point. Some stories are fun to delve into without wading through a ton of plot.
One of the short stories details a medical visit, and I had a visceral reaction to it due to my own medical history. A woman orgasms while she is at the doctor's for a medical exam, but that wasn't what made me squeamish.
It was the articulation of a very real problem for many people with female genitalia about how we often are ignored when we discuss how debilitating our cramps are during our periods. I've never read a story that articulated this, and it made me feel for the character and all of us who suffer from menstrual issues.
You may likewise have a palpable reaction to one or more of the short stories. I am okay with most triggers, but I want to remind readers to check all triggers before reading this collection.

Where in the actual F do I start?
Firstly, Emily clearly has a ridiculous talent of writing and her editor is chefs kiss.
I went into this listening to instructions of not expecting world/character building, I was prepared to use my imagination… But they all flowed so well and every collection was more than easy to follow!
There were some stories in this collection that I loved more than others, where I would rate them a 5⭐️ and beg for their own books, over the other stories I would rate 4⭐️ only on the basis their stories didn’t level up the same way (for me)

#1. Masked Lovers - If I could rate this 10 stars I would. This one was my ultimate! I freaking loved the MFC in this one.
#5. Dr. Obsessed - My second favourite! Not only did I need the reminder to book in for my gyno appt, I low key now need to pierce my bits and find my own hot AF doc for my own scientific reasons 🫠

This is a collection of 15 dark and taboo novellas with different tropes and themes. These were supposed to be dark, dirty, and forbidden, without much world-building, but the stories I read were in my opinion full of unnecessary plot points and honestly not spicy or dark enough.
For example, the first two stories had a few spicy scenes that were rather basic; nothing really spicy or dark.
The first story, "Masked Lovers," sounded really interesting, and I think it had potential. The beginning was promising but fell flat after that, with too much unnecessary plot and drama.
The second story, "The Hunting Games," also seemed interesting and promising, but there was too much trauma dumping and not enough spice.
The third one, "Stranger Danger," was just weird. The fourth one was supposed to be a bully romance, but there wasn’t really that much bullying.
Personally, I didn’t like the writing style and felt that many of the character interactions were weird and awkward. These are just my personal thoughts and opinions about the book, I have nothing against the book or the author.

This is the second anthology type book that I have read in the past couple of weeks and it is safe to say that they really are not my cuppa. The struggle when you really get into a plot, and then just like that … It ends, is real! Buuuuut then on the other hand, the amount of spice that was contained in this book was unreal 🥵 and I like me a book filled with the good stuff, so I suppose its swings and roundabouts in that sense. Whilst these types of books may not personally be my favourite, Dark Hearts was amazing! It was written really well and I loved all the stories. There are definitely a few in there I wish were full books on their own. I honestly did not want to put this down once I started it and would most certainly recommend the read, however as with all of Emily's books, make sure you check out the trigger warnings beforehand. She deals with some heavy, heavy stuff but does so really well. I have to admit … I don't have any triggers at all, even so I still seemed to struggle a little with her books at first. But now, after the first few and getting used to the style of them, I absolutely love them and always get excited when I see there is a new one being released!

Phewwww 🥵 Where to begin? This is a collection of DARK and TABOO novellas. I adored almost every single one. Some were shorter than others, but I can definitely see most of them being actual novels!
Below are my top three, but I did enjoy all of them! They were similar, but did have differences that made each novella unique. The repetitiveness with certain things (won’t mention so nothing is spoiled) wasn’t my favorite, but it didn’t make me dislike reading.
Emily’s writing is DARK and very DESCRIPTIVE. Every novella has some sort of trauma described and nothing is “held back”. That’s the point. So please check trigger warnings. She always tells readers to do so because your mental health is important!!
- MY FAVES:
I absolutely loved The Hunting Games. 🫡 I would devour a whole book with some more back story and events.
Secondly would be Dr. Obsessed! YESSSS. Something about this one just made me fall in love with the characters. 🥺 The scenes??? 🥵😍
I also really enjoyed Just The Tip.

Booksta friends... I hate saying to stop reading a book and I honestly don't want to influence anyone - BUT if you're a dark romance fan and you use trigger warnings as a shopping list just as much as I do... then put down whatever you're reading, push back your TBR and run and grab this.
Emily Klepp had pulled together 15 short erotic novellas, some of everything, not longer than a normal book chapter each. Oh My Gosh! It goes from stalker romance to neighbours to dad's best friend or stepbrothers (not blood related) and so on.
If I were to highlight my favourite quotes, you'd be seeing the whole book on my feed. I'm utterly speechless by the intensity of some scenes and at the same time itching for more of her work.
It was a perfect combination of different novellas, could put it down and resume it between stories when needed and not worry about losing the plot. If you want a book where the spice is spicing and the smut is smutting in Smutland - then this is your read! Have I mentioned that it's a banned book? 😉🫣

I don't think I've found a more perfect anthology than this one!
So yes, this author is still new to me and this book of novellas is just a perfect way to get used to her style of writing and to see if you liked her storyline and the types of tales she can tell.
Yes this is a jam packed full of dark Romance, and, yes it has a ton of triggers that I strongly advise you read before you head in to the book but if like me, you agreed to both, you will have a fun time within these pages!
A very strong advisory of reading this when you're at home or somewhere you are able to enjoy the tales!
