I absolutely love this concept of self-care. Who doesn't want some romance in their lives? And who better to give us that romance than ourselves! I very much enjoyed all the ideas of things to do and ways to find a little bit of romance every day. I loved the artwork! This book would make an amazing gift.
Thank you to the author, publisher, and Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this ARC!

This is a great book for those feeling burnt out and wanting to connect back with themselves and the world around them. It features recommendations of ways to revel in the little things and slow down to appreciate beauty. The author has a short write up with every recommendation which I appreciated. It’s a love letter to being human and living life. If you are wanting to romanticize your life but are overwhelmed on where to even start, this is the book for you.

Honestly? This book was utterly delightful. And it will be the perfect gift to give for the following: when someone is loosing hope in a life situation, when someone is feeling lonely or unloveable, valentines/galentines, anyone with a February birthday or a personality of whimsy, or to brighten someone’s spirits! I picked it up in an independent bookstore the week of Valentines—it just spoke to me…from the title to cover and a quick flip through.

I adored it all. And I can’t wait to be more intentional about romanticizing my own life. This has grounded me and re-aligned me. It gives 52 small, bite size pieces (each page) of a possible way to romanticize life. Everyday little luxuries. Adorably apt.

“Romance reminds us that we are sensory beings, here for a short time, during which we get to see and eat and dance and here and play and smell and feel and love and kiss and dream.”

“Romance can be as much about loving another person as it can be about loving a moment. Romance moves us out of our intellect and into our hearts. When we were living it right, romance becomes less about a game of seduction and more of a heightened way of moving and being in the world. To live life romantically is to allow ourselves access to join an unfair world. But we must make the effort.”

“Romance is not delusional, frivolous, or contingent on somebody else – pop culture teaches us that romantic moments can only happen if someone else creates them for us, but more often than not, the romance we seek is already there, all around us, and deep within us.”

“In a society lost behind screens, romance is a way to reclaim our humanity. Technology may help us with many things, but data alone is never going to nourish our souls. Surprise, story, enchantment, beauty, mystery, adventure – these are the realms of the soul, the places where true romance is found.”

“Remember: your greatest romance is with yourself. If you cultivate romance daily, the love in your heart will have no choice, but to spill over into each new person you meet and radiate out to every place you go. Living romantically is choosing to move toward the magic— again, and again, and again.”

This was such a cute book. It gives 52 ideas on how to romanticize your life (one of my favorite things to do!!) Think flower-picking, bubble baths, crafting, used bookstores, and farmer's markets-- with descriptions on how to make each experience more magical. The illustrations were stunning and the book overall had such a cozy, cottage-core vibe. This would make a great table book to flip through as a reference when you need inspiration.

Thank you NetGalley for this arc, in exchange for my honest review. :)

When a friend of mine was going through an especially rough patch, I told her that I thought she needed to reintroduce joy into her life. (In the moment, for this particular person, the advice made sense.)

This book would have been the perfect accompaniment to that advice. Gorgeous illustrations and practical advice on falling in love with the day to day in your life.

Thanks to NetGalley - the author- and the publisher for the arc/and the opportunity ro review.

Originally posted on my blog Nonstop Reader.

Romance the Every Day is a lovely and well curated collection of 52 suggestions for slowing down and luxuriating outside the daily grind, written by Andrea Kasprzak. Released 1st Oct 2024 by Chronicle Books, it's 120 pages and is available in hardcover and ebook formats.

Daily mental healthcare, self-care, and support are vitally important, especially given the current state of *everything* and the author has compiled a lovely creative list of things for readers which are do-able, relatively simple, and which will bring a whiff of luxury to the every day.

The suggestions run the gamut from meditative thoughtful pauses and routines to get mind and body working, to edible treats, and moments of commune with nature walking and enjoying the outdoors. The book's graphic are restful and calm, enhanced throughout with watercolor illustrations by Katharina Puritscher. They're mostly pastels and full of small cozy details which support and enhance the text very well.

Four and a half stars. This would make a lovely gift, for home use, and for library acquisition.

Disclosure: I received an ARC at no cost from the author/publisher for review purposes.

I have always loved the idea of romanticizing the sometimes-mundane moments in life. In ‘Romance the Every Day’, Andrea Kasprzak provides 52 different ways to turn everyday moments into something more magical. What a fun idea for a book! I loved that she really emphasized how subtle and simple romance can be, and how important it is to find romance in things when the news, social media, and everything else can be so full of fear and hopelessness. I found myself audibly saying “yes!” and “love that!” throughout almost the entirety of the introduction. There were so many sentences I wanted to highlight or underline.

As someone who is (or at least feels like she is) still a relatively new mom, so much of my life feels like it’s running from one thing to the next. There are days when it feels like I have no time to take a deep breath, let alone find the magic in the moment. This book was a wonderful reminder to make time for even just a few seconds to pause, readjust, and take in the quiet beauty of whatever I’m doing.

The artwork in this was also so charming! I can see this being the perfect little coffee table book or an addition to a gift basket for a new home. I know that I’ll be taking several of the recommendations from this to heart.

Such a lovely and meaningful book, with absolutely beautiful art and wonderful prose.
One of the lines in the introduction really stood out to me: "Romance is not delusional, frivolous, or contingent on somebody else." Despite our tendencies to think making life romantic would be a luxury or something that requires a certain financial standing, the suggestions in this book, from pillow chocolates to the ambrosial hours, aren't reliant upon expensive, time-consuming, or Pinterest-perfect aesthetic rituals, but rather simple steps of self-care that are easy to bring to fruition. This would be a perfect gift for others--or yourself!--and I definitely will be implementing these suggestions into my own life, too!

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review through NetGalley. This in no way influences the content or rating of my review.

This book is such a good reminder to slow down and make your life a little more romantic, romantic in the way that you slow down and take a second to see the world through a more beautiful light. Basically, how to live in moments that make yourself feel like you are on the set of a Nancy Meyers film.
My favorite tip was the idea of occasionally leaving a chocolate on your pillow after making the bed so that when you get home later and get ready for bed you get a little treat and feel like you are in a hotel for the evening.
Overall, wonderful book and a good one to read if you are feeling a bit burnt out and let down by life. I also enjoyed the watercolor, can't wait to see it in print!

Thak you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the opportunity to read a copy of this ARC.

This book is a good gift for anyone who needs a little encouragement or inspiration to carpe diem and enjoy more of life’s romantic beauty.
It’s a very practical, specific guide, which you can flip from topic to topic, day to day as you’re willing and able to complete each guided self-care indulgence.
Each day lists a fun task, as well as a way to savor each item, things such as such as cheese, cake, bubble baths, dance, closets, journals/diaries, dress up, farmer’s markets, gardens, hats, picnics, and so many, many more wonderful things. If you needed an excuse for self-care, or a more specific, practical guide on ways to take part, this is the perfect book for you. It would also make a great gift for a friend, a mother, a sister, a birthday, mother’s day or a fun girl’s weekend.

This book is definitely unusual. The suggestions of the author are ways to bring your life into clearer focus. We get so busy in our world that we often bypass all the little details around us. The author tries to awaken our inner self to pay more attention to life. Some suggestions are out of my comfort zone, e.g. dance at the grocery store, but her point is to loosen up. I truly believe that this book will best suit people who are searching for something more meaningful in their lives. Most of the advice given reminds me of what a therapist might offer to her clients.
I received a copy for free from NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.

Thanks to the author and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

A cute Pinterest-worthy pocket book with a plethora of ways to romantic your life and uplift your spirits. I enjoyed all the ideas that were simple in execution and self-explanatory and at the same time, the way the author describe them make me want to try all of them out immediately, I have even made a bucket list for the summer. The illustrations were quite simplistic and not in the way I have enjoyed, I believe this book would have benefited for going in different directions with its illustration, something more Monet or Manet like would be perfect fit for this book.

I absolutely loved this sweet, easy read! It provides not just 52 suggestions but expands on each idea with so many accessible and affordable ways to implement them. As a therapist, I am so excited for the physical book to be released so that I can have a copy in my office and suggest for my clients- it’s excellent for self-care ideas!
Add to that the beautiful illustrations and this book is an absolute winner for me!
I am grateful to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this ARC.

If you want/need a cozy reminder of the good things in life, pick up this book. I highly recommend on a day when you feel like the world is just a little too much. Plop down, pour yourself a mug of whatever your drink of choice is, and dive into this book. It's one where you don't have to read it all at once; a little at a time is sufficient. The whole book wants you to embrace the little luxuries in your day to day life and what is right in front of you.

Alphabetically organized. Beautiful artwork. This book is encouraging the reader to find the romantic moments of a day and to pamper, splurge, and spoil oneself. I’d never thought about romancing myself, but this books makes sense. It’s full of simple ways to be sweet to yourself. After all, we deserve it! I’m not good with self-care, so this book is a good starting point.

I bought this book on a date to a romance book store, so I hope I’m on the right track already!
I was a little worried about moving back to my hometown, because it essentially has nothing to do, compared to the big city I’m in now, but this book gives me hope. I believe things will still be magical.
