I found the history that was included to be interesting! I had absolutely no idea about much of what was shared before I read this. I am very interested in the aspect of improving cognitive health. Preventing cognitive decline is a personal interest of mine. This book is easily understood, and is a smooth read. If you're also interested in the mind-body connection, or preventing cognitive decline, you'll really appreciate this book
Tai Chi & Qigong book has some great stress reliever exercises and helps with the balance also. My mom had done this exercise at the center where she goes with her friends to do exercises and crafts and she really enjoyed it so I got her this book so she could do it in her home so she could improve her balance and I'm see her stress level and balance improve.
This is a wonderful book that breaks down from the beginning as to what Tai Chi and Qigong is, their history and origins and how it is used today. There are step by step instructions with pictures to show how to so many of the movements correctly. Give examples of how to do the movements standing up as well as sitting down.
This book has a lot of great exercises to incorporate into your daily routine to gradually improve your balance and strength. If you are caring for an elder, this is a great way to keep them strong and moving. There are pictures and detailed instructions for each exercise, so it's very user-friendly!! I highly recommend this book!
I was expecting a fairly modest introduction to basic exercises, but this is so much more than that. From inspiring explanations of ancient philosophy to learned quotations and meticulous breakdowns of various exercise regimes, this opens the door to an entire tradition.

I grabbed this book to help my back. It gets so stiff. Not a huge fan of chiropractor. Now my back feels amazing. The exercises were easy to follow and replicate. Great book.
I should have read more information on this book before purchasing. It’s all text except for one chart I saw after skimming the whole book. I just wanted examples of poses and moves and this book is not that. It’s more of a history and medical benefits of Tai Chi.
