That is, until the day she seemed to fall off the face of the earth. Now she lives a reclusive life in her Highland stately home, the principal of a unique music college. Perfectly content within the walled world she has made for herself, the demons of her past lay dormant, buried deep beneath the daily routine of tutoring and rehearsing. That is, until the arrival of new student Beatrice throws her quiet life into jeopardy.
To fund the repairs that will save the house from condemnation, Freya must perform one last time and revisit the life she fled from. She embarks upon a journey of revelations, reunions and redemption; learning an important lesson of her own.
I wasn’t sure how this book was going to pan out but a few chapters in and I was enjoying the twists and turns of the story developing. It had references to suicide and trauma, FYI if this is a trigger for you. Helen has written a fab novel and I recommend it to anyone thinking of reading!
