Thank you to NetGalley for providing the ARC 💕

This is a comedic mystery with dual POV following Freddi, a real estate agent with a double life as an agent for strippers and erotic dancers, and Tom, a private investigator who thinks she’s involved in a huge scam.

This book was entertaining with its wild plot that makes you want to pull out some red string and get an investigation board going! However, the many strings attached to the primary investigation felt a tad messy for the majority of the book, almost as if they were just being added for the sake of a huge crime being committed. All the drama also meant the ending felt fairly rushed so it would have been nice to see that extended.

As for side characters, I liked pretty much all of them :) the only character I wasn’t keen on was Jamie Bond (a very on the nose reference which made me laugh out loud) who felt very forced into the story just to give Tom someone to talk to. Which was unnecessary given the list of other characters Tom gets close to in order to gain intel on his suspects and what they are up to.

There were also A LOT of Magnum P.I. References which went a bit over my head.

Overall, this was a quick fun read and I would recommend it if over the top mystery is your cup of tea!

This book was such a wild ride! I love a good thriller, and this book added such a fun twist to the theme. Freddi and Missy are two of the main characters who run a real estate business. Freddi also has a side hustle as an agent for exotic dancers, and she goes by Sabrina in that line of work. The story is based in Florida, which, as a native Floridian, I loved. I like it when I can understand the places that are talked about on a more personal level. I could vividly picture a club and Cuban restaurant in Ybor City when it was mentioned in the book.

In comes Tom McCall, aka Rick, the private investigator. Their paths start to cross as he suspects there is a trafficking scandal going on in the club she works for.

I enjoyed Desiree's back story and her actual identity. The story goes so much deeper than what you would expect.

Favorite quote:

"Sorry, I always buy my Girl Scout cookies from the neighbor's kid."

I liked it when Tom and Freddi finally started to work together towards the end. At times, I felt like things were a bit hard to follow, but overall, I enjoyed the story. Thank you to Netgalley, Turner Publishing Company, and Buck Buchanan for an ARC of this book. This review is my own honest opinion.

If there’s such a thing as “cozy 80s vibes P.I. Mystery rom-com,” that’s what this felt like to me. It was kind of ridiculous but a fun time either way. Two attractive real estate agents become involved in a P.I.’s investigation into some sketchy Russian criminals and adventures ensue. I wasn’t really in love with the characters but they were interesting, if a bit of caricature-ish, but overall it was a fun read and did make me laugh.

Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read and review this book.
