Brax MacPherson is the hotshot player hockey teams only dream of having . . . and everything I’m trying not to get burned by.
I’ve already been burned once. When Brax kissed me last year at his sister’s wedding—who also happens to be my best friend—and then ghosted me afterward, I swore off dating players like him.
When I advertise for new roommates to earn extra money to pay my mortgage, I never expected the hockey team would take me up on the offer.
Or that Brax would get switched to this team and end up as my accidental roommate.
As the team’s new marketing manager, I’ve got a front row seat to the Brax show every. single. day.
I’m trying not to trip over my own feelings—for the sake of this team and my job.
Meanwhile, I have to pretend my heart is as cold as ice, even though this hockey heartthrob is the biggest distraction I’ve ever laid eyes on.
No matter how Brax looks at me or how real things start to feel, I know this is a temporary arrangement. He’s too talented to stay on this team. And the roommate situation is too hard on my heart, no matter how good I am at pretending there aren’t sparks flying between us.
But when my feelings for Brax heat up, I wonder how this game between us is going to end.
With me winning over the man I can’t stop thinking about? Or losing everything, including my heart?
The Roommate Remodel is a sweet hockey romcom that's a closed door romantic comedy with no spice, but all the chemistry and emotion to give you a happily ever after!

Oh my cuteness!!! I was so excited that this next book in the Renovation Romance series was Brax's and Jaz's story!!! *Happy Sigh* We got to see them in the previous book and I loved that this one started off with a wedding. Jaz's best friend's wedding (the main character from the previous book), who just happens to be Brax's sister. And yes, he's been told to stay away from Jaz!
Y'all are going to LOVE the wedding scene! Oh my heart it was adorable and super swoony! And funny! Definitely a favorite opening of a book for me. But just you wait for the downfall to happen, cause it comes! And then there are several surprises and ups and downs and lots of goodness!!!
I've been reading several books that are hockey rom-coms and I'm hooked. They've all been great! In fact I'm reading another one right now! Yes, I love hockey and love that all of these authors are writing books about it. Have you jumped on the bandwagon in reading all of the hockey books too? If you need recs for some good ones, let me know! I've got a few! ;-)
Brax is going to melt your heart right along with Jaz's so be prepared for that!
And get ready to meet all of the hockey team players. They're sometimes a handful but I love their friendship and camaraderie! They like to play hockey, joke around but they've always got each other's backs! Especially when there's so drama happening and a fellow player needs help!
I loved it all! And now I'm hoping that Brax's twin brother will get his story...and yes, he also plays hockey! *grins*
Content: Clean. Some kisses and making out. Some mild innuendos. Some moments of mild suspense/peril but nothing graphic.
I received a copy from the publisher, Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op, via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions in the review are my own.
The Roommate Remodel is the fourth book in the Renovation Romance series. While it's a great series that I would recommend reading anyway, this could definitely be enjoyed just fine as a standalone as well.
I have adored every single book in this series... and this one is no exception. First off, it has two of my very favorite tropes--- hockey romance and best friend's brother! Needless to say, I was all in right from the start. And with the chemistry between these two, it was pretty hard not to be! Jaz and Brax were both such wonderfully written characters. Jaz is such a caretaker with a lot of weight on her shoulders with taking care of her sister after an injury and renovating her grandma's old house. To help with finances, she takes on a team of hockey players as renters... not realizing one of those players was Brax, who'd ghosted her after his sister's wedding. Given this history, I wasn't sure how I would feel about Brax at first, but as we get to know him, we see there is a lot more to the story... and well, it was hard not to love him in the end with the way he takes care of her where no one else has. I absolutely adored these two together and couldn't get enough!
Beyond the romance though, I also really found myself loving this team too. They are far from perfect, but they had me laughing out loud and I loved seeing them come together as a team that really felt more like family. I absolutely cannot wait to see more of them in their own series!!
The Roommate Remodel is a closed-door romance with kisses only and no language.
**ARC received for consideration. All opinions are my own.
The Roommate Remodel by Grace Worthington is the fourth book in the Renovation Romance series but can be read as a standalone. This book was absolutely adorable. I can not recommend this whole series enough. This is told from a dual pov. The chemistry between Jazlyn and Brax is perfect. The bater = chef's kiss. I can not wait for more Carolina Crushers books. The whole team is unperfectly perfect.
🏒 Accidental Roommates 💜 Closed Door Hockey Rom-com 🏒 Second Chance 💜 Best Friend's brother 🏒 Double Meet Cute 💜 Found Family 🏒 Actual Hockey Brothers 💜 Taking Care of Sister
"You're all I want now. I could quit hockey tomorrow, and if I still had you, it wouldn't matter."
"I meant the no-flirting rule." "I thought that wasn't a rule," I say with a smirk. "It is now," she says with a flash of challenge in her eyes. "Well, I wasn't flirting." She looks at me doubtful. "Then what was it?" I hold her stare long enough for the air to crackle between us. "Only the truth. You were meant to wear my jersey."
"I always thought I was a strong, independent woman who didn't need a man, but now I can't stop thinking about him. Does this mean I'm hopeless?" Her lips curve up on one side. "No, it means you're in love. And you're still a strong, independent woman. Loving someone doesn't change that."
I received an advance review copy, and I am leaving my honest review voluntarily.
“She’s like a match. I’m like the rough end of a matchbox. We’ll either light something on fire or burn everything down.”
They say to never date your best friend’s brother. But how can Jaz possibly resist a cozy closet at the wedding reception? Fast forward a few years and all bets just might be off with these highly flammable sparks and forced proximity.
Let me just start by saying that I’m deeply entrenched in my hockey romance era and this book satisfied all sorts of things. Not only did this lovable team feel like a group of older brothers, but having Brax’s twin brother there as well? Solid sighs. Jaz has the weight of the world on her shoulders, but I loved the way she was able to let her hair down and enjoy life. These two have secrets and trust to be earned and it’s a sweet and beautiful journey, while dodging some crazy. The sweet surprise and grand gesture were the cherry on top.
This is my first book by this author and while it’s the third book in the series, it can stand alone and I’m excited to read more. Delightful situations, charming characters, and gorgeous writing.
Content: mild moments of violence/threats; mild romance
*I received a complimentary copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own and were voluntarily given*
If you like the brother’s best friend trope & forced proximity, then you are going to really enjoy this one!
There are so many fun things at play here: -they’re roommates -they both work for the hockey team -a jealous & protective MMC -cute nicknames -she wears his jersey -a romantic couples skate (where he has to help her)
This story really was cute! Each MC made mistakes and so they both had to apologize and make it up to the other. I liked seeing the way they grew to trust each other.
This one releases TODAY! Happy book birthday @graceworthington
Quotes That Stuck Out: ☀️ He's like an eclipse that I have to shield my eyes from —so untouchable, it's best not to take him in too long or else you'll scald your eyes.
💋 I want to kiss him. I want to remember this night with Brax. I want to burn it into my memory. Even if it's a bad idea.
🔥 She's like a match. I'm like the rough end of a matchbox. We'll either light something on fire or burn everything down.
😏 When she appears in the door, to my disappointment, she's trying on Lucian's jersey. "What do you think?" she asks, twirling around…."It looks..." I keep my emotions-and my face—in check. "Okay." "Just okay?" she asks. I'm trying so hard not to say the wrong thing, or let her know how much it bothers me that she's not wearing my jersey. But it's like she knows how to push my buttons. Every. Single. One of them…. "I want your honest opinion." …I lean against the doorframe and cross my arms. "Honestly? I think you'd look better in mine."

After a hot meet that promises more, Jaz is ghosted by Brax and she swears off dating hockey players. When she and her sister rent out a couple of rooms in their house to afford the mortage and renovation, Jaz is chocked to learn that Brax is one of the tenants. She doesn't want him in the house, but she needs the money and it's only temporary. But as the new marketing manager for the Chrushers hockey team it's hard for Jaz to avoid Brax...
"She’s like a match. I’m like the rough end of a matchbox. We’ll either light something on fire or burn everything down."
Even though this is the fourth book in the Renovation Romance series you can read it as a stand-alone. We get hockey, best friend's brother, forced proximity, found family vibes and second chance (clean) romance! It's dual POV, which I appriciate. Lots of things I enjoy, for sure, but sometimes it gets a little too sugar sweet for my taste, and the language feels a bit YA, although the characters are older than that. A bit of unnecessary drama as well, but I still end up falling in love with the main characters. I love the players of the hockey team, how they grow together and end up supporting each other. When the book has ended I'm happy to download and read a bonus scene, just so I can spend some more time with the characters!
"Don’t think. Just close your eyes . . . and jump."
* I received an ARC from the author and I'm giving my honest review. *
Loved this enemies to more, hockey romance, with tons of depth and fun!! It started off so fun with a unique twist on the enemies to more trope. Jaz and Brax’s story was so relatable and sweet. And it ended with some excitement and twists that kept me wanting more!
Seeing their relationship grow even through their own past hurts, was great! I loved how Brax was always there for her when she gave her all to all those around her. Their constant push and pull was great! And I loved the added layer their workplace romance added to the story.
There were so many funny and sweet moments throughout, like the kindergartener scene and the pivotal moment for the hockey team in the locker room. This is one of my favorite parts of sports romances, the camaraderie of the players. And these guys were no different. They had such unique personalities but really were there for each other in all circumstances.
I really really liked this! Sweet roommates to friends to lovers story with sisters and hockey players. She also is the team's new public relations manager. I would definitely recommend it!
Standout scenes: The kindergarten class scene Hockey players line dancing
There is no spice or language in this book, but lots of swoon.
The tension between Brax and Jaz is Chef's Kiss perfect! I absolutely adored this sweet hockey romcom! Super excited to get more Crushers hockey stories!
I received an ARC from the author and all opinions are my own.
It had a lot of potential! It didn’t fully click with me, but it might for you!
I really enjoy Grace’s books in general and with even your most favorite authors there’s always one book that just doesn’t click for you. That was this book for me. I almost really liked it, there were some scenes I wished I could have seen and several times I felt I was told something rather than shown it. But hey, other people are loving it, so I say give it a try, you might love it!
If you are looking for a clean romcom story that still has plenty of swoony chemistry, The Roommate Remodel is a great one to pick up! It is book four in the Renovation Romance Sweet RomCom Series, however, you can easily read this book and enjoy it without having read the previous stories. However, if you have read book three, you will remember the hints that Jaz and Brax seemed to be drawn to each other even then.
I loved this story from start to finish. My heart hurt for Jaz when I read the text messages that she sent to Brax, during the time that it was becoming clear that he had ghosted her. After seeing how much they connected prior to that ghosting, it made the way she felt dropped even more painful. Then, when they were thrown together again as the story really got started, it made for some excellent tension between the two of them.
I also loved the teammates that the author introduced in this novel. I am so excited to read more about these guys in the author’s future hockey series! There was a great dynamic that grew between the guys as the story progressed. I could feel the bonds developing as they became not only teammates, but also friends.
Brax and Jaz sometimes made decisions that ended up causing pain for each other. Those decisions had solid reasons behind them, however, it also created obstacles that had to be overcome for their relationship to grow into more. I really liked these two characters and the emotional and relationship growth in this book.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
DNF 66% I wanted to love it but to simply put it there was a lot of rambling and the book was far too long for what it is. The back and forth about not telling anything or anyone about the MMC “ nemesis” became annoying quickly and I started to like the supporting characters way more than the main ones.
The miscommunication in this one... 🫠 The main characters could not figure out their feelings and were all over the place for the whole book. Everything was so drawn out.
I strongly dislike this book. DNF @ 28% 1. the whole "he snached my heart and broke it" GURL YOU KISSED ONCE TF WHAT TF DO YOU MEAN HEART? 2. why the hell is he keeping his reasons a secret??? did u kill someone? is that why you didn't text her? 3. the dialogue is horrible and some adjectives aren't used correctly and grammar was a bit off 4. I hate all the characters. 5. Jaz talks too much. stfu gurl 6. Brax is annoying af 7. I hope I never have the misfortune of stumbling upon this book again.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I enjoyed this hockey romance, particularly the part that really resembled Ted Lasso. I was also interested in the head injury parts obviously. My complaint though, is that Brax is previously not interested in dating at all, then is suddenly completely invested in the heroine and their relationship just kind of starts back up out of nowhere. That just bugs me a little bit and makes me feel like the author has shortcut past the actual relationship development.
Hockey players needing a place to stay end up at Jaz’s house. And surprise! Brax has swoony history with her. And Jaz isn’t impressed. It’s pretty much romcom perfection, and the growth between the characters kept my heart melting. There are great supporting characters that I hope will get their own story soon!
"She's like a match. I'm like the rough end of a matchbox. We'll either light something on fire or burn everything down."

Read if you like: * Closed Door Hockey RomCom * Forced Proximity * Second Chance Romance * Best Friend's Brother * Found Family * Dual POV * Part of a series/can be read as a stand alone
I am an absolute sucker for witty/flirty banter and this book delivered! I loved watching Brax and Jaz learn to trust and forgive each other as their feelings became something they could no longer ignore, but all of the banter leading up to it (and after) was so good. The teammates were a highlight for me and watching the relationships between the teammates grow from strangers into a found family that had each others backs added another layer to this book without detracting from the romance. I'm so excited to hear that a series for the rest of the players is in the works!
Favorites: * "Sorry for pretending you were my girlfriend without asking first." * Coffee shop meet cute * "I'm exceptional that way." * The closet * "You were meant to wear my jersey." * Reading to the Kindergarteners * "I like big heads and I cannot lie." * Zip line * "You are everything to me." * Movie night * "I'm a survivor and survivors face their fears." * Brendan (I hope we see more of him in future books) * "I've got you." * Ice skating * "I still want to be the first." (IYKYK) * Secret Remodel * "Just close your eyes...and jump."
This is the first book I've read by Grace Worthington and it won't be my last. I will definitely be going back to read the rest of this series!
This Renovation Romance series just keeps getting better and better. The opening scene of this book will set the scene for the entire book and will capture your heart. It was swoony, funny and sigh-worthy. Picture a wedding, a broom closet and an unforgettable dance.
Jaz advertises the need for roommates for the house she is renovating. She needs the extra cash to help with the mortgage and to assist in paying for her sister's medical bills. She is in for a major surprise when a group of hockey players show up ready to rent the rooms. Everything would be just fine if it was not for one of the tenants.
Brax McPherson swept her off her feet at her best friend's wedding (his sister) and kissed her. Then he left her high and dry - ghosted. She is livid, but she knows she needs the money. She will just have to get through it and try to maintain the dignity that she feels he stole from her all those months ago. She not only has to live with him, but she will be working with him, as she is the new marketing manager for his hockey team.
Brax and his twin, Vale, plus their other teammates stole my heart. Their little boy antics and banter back and forth caused me to laugh out loud so many times. As the team learned to bond together and give back to their community, my heart swooned a little more. There was a special scene with a little boy in a wheelchair that made my heart soar. There is nothing sweeter than big, burly athletes and children.
I loved Jaz. She is a caretaker. She loved to take care of everyone around her. I can relate to the special bond she had with her sister. Family was important to these two sisters.
Romantic comedies are my jam, and this book and this entire series leave this reader sufficiently satisfied. I look forward to next book in this lovable series.
Thank you to the author for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.
– this is part of a series, but can be read as a stand-alone
– this is told from Jaz & Brax’s points of view
– Jaz’s sister was recently in a car accident (injured with a concussion) that she is still recovering from & it is mentioned that she dealt with depression due to the recovery process
– it is mentioned that characters’ parents were either single parents &/or divorced and remarried for a time when they were growing up
Review:
I stayed up late to finish reading this book! I really enjoyed the banter between Jaz & Brax. And I loved getting to seeing their first chance together burn out in favor of a sweet second chance together! I loved seeing them try to sneak around the other players while figuring out what kind of a relationship they wanted to have. I loved that the hockey team members were so close knit by the ending and stood by each other despite whatever else was going on around them. They were so much fun together with all the things they did in the book! I also loved the two sibling dynamics shown in this story with Jaz & her sister as well as with Brax & his brother! I hope that there will be more romances to come for some of the characters in this book!
Summary:
Jaz’s best friend Mia warned her away from her brother, knowing that they had different desires when it came to falling in love. But during the events of Mia’s wedding, Jaz came to hope for more with Brax. Only to have him ghost her. Now she is renting rooms in her grandmother’s home to some new local hockey players… only to find that Brax is one of them. And not only that, but Jaz just got a job working for the same team that Brax signed on to…
Brax never expected to run into the one girl that could be so much more to him. But no matter how he feels, he knows that he badly burned that bridge with her when he ended things without explanation. If he ever wants to try again, he’ll need to get back into her good graces. Which he might need to do anyways for two reasons. The first: because they’ll have to work closely together since they’re both employed by the same hockey team. The second & most important: because they’ll be living together with a few other people who are renting rooms from Jaz & her sister…
The Roommate Remodel by Grace Worthington I absolutely loved this one and didn’t want to put it down. Jaz was a wonderful character who had such a good heart. When we first meet Brax in the story I just love him and then he ghosted Jaz. Then I wasn’t sure how I felt about him after that but it turned out I loved him. As the story continues I begin to really root for these two characters and their chance at love. Things I absolutely loved about this story: *The double meet-cute..I love both of them so much. The first meeting was so sweet and the second made me laugh out loud. *The Cute Kindergartners *That there is a couple of minor characters for me that were actual villains but could totally have their own redemption story if the author ever chose to and I really loved that. *Secret Dates and Sweet & Swoony Kisses *Line Dancing *The MMC is protective *The accidental roommate situation *The team and minor characters are so much fun and it also opens a whole new world. Some tropes included protective MMC, a little forced proximity, Best Friend’s Brother, a double meet cute, accidental roomies, second chance, & found family This is a sweet, only kisses, dual point-of-view story. This is fourth in the series but can be read as a standalone. I really can’t wait for more books by this author and am looking forward to going back and reading the ones in this series that I haven’t gotten to yet. So if you love a sports romance with a protective hero, secret dates, and whole team that feels like family. Go grab yourself a copy today. I already ordered the paperback and mine is in the mail.
Brax and Jaz hit it off at Brax's sister's wedding where Jaz is a bridesmaid. But after magical night, he ghosts her!
But the past can't stay in the past because when Jaz lists a rooms in her house to rent to cover her mortgage, they get filled with hockey players. And surprise, Brax is one of them!
Jaz had no clue Brax was coming to play on the Crushers, and to make things more complicated, she's the team's new community relations manager.
And when she learns of some shady dealings behind the scenes, she has to add saving the team to her task list under figuring out how to pay her sister's medical bills and fix up her house. How can she possibly juggle her feelings for Brax too? _____ This book hit all the great hockey rom com tropes while centering the team dynamic and setting us up for hopefully more Crushers books!
Jaz and Brax are both characters who carry the weight of those they love on their shoulders and I loved how they, along with the found family here, encourage each other to not shoulder those burdens alone.
This book is funny and very sexy while still fully being clean. This is only my second Grace Worthington, but I plan to definitely keep reading her books. _____ This is a closed door, kisses only rom com. It is part of a series but can be read as a stand alone. Content Warnings. (from author): panic attacks/anxiety, death of a parent (past), brain injury (side character), being ghosted by text (IYKYK)
Thanks to the author for the gifted book. No favorable review required. All opinions are my own.
When this pairing was hinted at the end of the previous book in the series, I was very intrigued to see how it would play out and now that I have read this book, I’m quite happy! I’m very pleased to be back in Sully Beach after spending the holidays in Maplewood, but now to settle in with Jaz and one of Mia’s brothers, Brax!
Jaz is a self-assured woman, who’s renting out rooms in her home to help make ends meet! Between that, helping her sister out, starting a new job with community relations, and getting past being ghosted by a man who kissed her senseless- she has no time for love! Yet, life has a way of playing tricks on her as said ghost is now renting a room, along with his twin!
Brax is a seasoned hockey player but recently traded to a team that could use a shake up! With housing being limited, he’s at the mercy of his team captain helping him find a place! Oh, the awkwardness of being under the same roof as the girl, he ghosted and still appears very attracted to! Good thinking he can channel his emotions into his playing!
Secret moments, heartfelt gestures, and so much more make this pairing fun to read! They end up help stand by each other when the going gets tough! While the world tells them to “stay away,” fate has a way of putting them in the right place at the right time! Grace Worthington writes off the chart chemistry even in the simplest of moments and I’m here for it! One of my favorite things about Grace’s writing is the simple touches can give the greatest joy/meaning to the protagonist in their moment of need!
A cute and sweet second chance, roommates/close proximity and hockey rom - there’s so much happening in this quick read and so worthwhile picking up!
I haven’t read the first books in the series but turns out they’re sitting in my kindle library waiting for me, so I will read them soon… I jumped at the chance to read the arc of this one as soon as I saw it come up because the blurb sounded right up my hockey romcom loving alley, and it absolutely hit the spot. It’s unique because of how the tropes are mashed up, and I really enjoyed it. The only complaint with it is that it’s “sweet and swoony” (aka clean/closed door). This one really could have benefited from a touch of spice.
I enjoyed Brax and Jazlyn, from meeting at his sister’s wedding to when he and his twin moved in with her sister as roommates (several of his new hockey teammates became roommates to help her out and pay medical bills… but that’s a whole other part of the plot). Their wedding meet-cute was fantastic with a closet picnic and Swifty dance to avoid the bouquet toss, a very memorable kiss, and then a year of ghosting until he appears in her kitchen. The now enemies and roommates and she’s also working for the team - and so much more - is a fresh take on a lot of hockey romance novels that I just couldn’t get enough of and I read it so quickly.
This one is excellent and I definitely recommend it - so many twists and turns and not a typical and formulaic read. Go grab it! I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the series and glad to have found a new author I enjoyed this much!
I received an advance copy from NetGalley and Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op, and this is my honest feedback.
What a Slap Shot this book was! I loved the chemistry Jazz and Gave Brad had from the first time they met in an earlier book as side characters and when they got their own book WOW what a wonderful time I had watching their relationship blossom. Starting with a great flashback at a wedding where they were both hiding out from the bouquet and garter toss, this book capitalized on their instant connection and shared sense of humor. Expecting a wonderful relationship to develop from this beautiful and surprising moment, Jaz is heartbroken when Brax ghosts her over the next few days. Flash forward to the present when Brax and his brother move into her home as temporary roommates while they find a place of their own, and wham....that immediate connection no longer smolders but catches fire as soon as she hears his voice. But how can she trust him, what happens when a secret is revealed that may cause him his career, will their work on the Crushers, the local hockey team, bring them closer together or drive them apart? This book has it all in a well written, well paced, sweet clean kissing only romance that has all the feels.
If you like romances that will leave you rooting for the main characters and a team of guys who are as sweet and funny as they are cute, than you have to check out this great addition to Worthington's Renovation Romance Series!
I read this as an arc and this review is my own freely given response
The Roommate Remodel by Grace Worthington was exactly the hockey romance I didn't even realize I needed in my life, and I am so thankful for the beautiful journey of love it took me on. Sweet and clean but full of so much sizzle and heart, not to mention that fantastic banter! Brax and Jaz are wonderful, fun characters, completely devoted to protecting their loved ones. But, of course, the story would go nowhere without a bit of conflict, and those wonderful protective traits definitely cause some drama when communication is left out of the mix. From the very beginning, the chemistry between the two was palpable…right up until Brax ghosted the lovely Jaz for months. When they finally come together again, that fun tension is still there, but I wanted to smack Brax, as well as pull him in tight and protect him. Weird, right? Jaz is a force full of love and commitment to her sister, to restoring her home for her grandmother's legacy, and to the hockey team she wants to save. I don’t want to give too much away, so I won’t summarize the story for you. But I will say readers will fall in love with this fun story of forced proximity, banter, hockey players, dances on ice, sister bonds, red velvet cupcakes, and tiaras. Not to mention the always wonderful HEA. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Thoughts and opinions are my own.
The Roommate Remodel is the fourth book in the Renovation Romance series. If you like the brother’s best friend trope & forced proximity, and even found family then you are going to love this one!
Jaz is a very independent, sassy but a little stressed out her sister having a accident and her grandmother home needs tons of work, so she also has a new job as the local hockey teams community relations manager, so when the new player need temporary housing it’s perfect for her.. or so she thought
Brax is a hockey player was traded and with the season starting soon and housing being limited, his new team captain helping him find a place! And guess who is the only person that has rooms for rent.. Jaz the person he shared an almost perfect night in a closet with nine months ago at his sister Mia wedding…. But it was one night, nine months ago, no biggie right?… wrong!!
So now we get to see Brax and Jaz living being under the same roof after he ghosted her with no explanation and Jaz can’t make him move because she needs the money.
The chemistry and banter between these two was good, but when you add in Vale, Leo and Dawson it’s really a perfect mix of people, jokes and love! Lastly this book had a lot of secrets and a few sneaky grand gestures!
A great sweet and fun story. Living in that house would be epic. “Hiding in a closet with Brax is definitely a bad idea. He’s unfairly gorgeous. And I make notoriously bad choices when I’m hungry.” After flirting and kissing, Brax ghosted Jaz, his sister’s best friend. Needless to say, Jaz was less than thrilled to discover that Brax was not only going to be playing for the hockey team she just started working for, but was also one of the hockey players that would be renting rooms in her fixer upper family home. “He doesn’t want a relationship. And I’m a girl who’s not looking for a short-term romance.” But their attraction could not be suppressed. “She’s like a match. I’m like the rough end of a matchbox. We’ll either light something on fire or burn everything down.” The romance was cute. The characters were lovely and the hockey players were particularly entertaining. The story included some team drama and some hockey action, but not too much so it overshadowed the romance. I was excited to note that the author plans a series of books about the teammates. Sign me up! This story includes brief elements of death, grief, parental abandonment, and traumatic brain injury. This is a closed door romance with mild innuendo and no harsh language.
