Excited to return to Sandcastle Cove as maid of honor for my best friend Avie’s wedding, I’m ready for sun, surf, and celebration. That is until I learn I’ll be sharing a beach cabana with the sexy-as-sin but uptight Naval officer, Lennon Harraway—the groom’s older brother and best man.
With his strict, by-the-book personality, Lennon and I are complete opposites. He likes to play by the rules, and I like to break them all. Sparks fly, and tensions rise, but as the days unfold, so does an undeniable attraction.
Caught between fiery clashes and off-the-chart chemistry, we must navigate our differences and work together to ensure the wedding goes off without a hitch while discovering opposites really do attract.
*This is the third book in the Sandcastle Cove series.
What to expect: Forced proximity Opposite attracts Small beach town Military MMC Spice Standalone in a series

This is my first book by this author and it did not disappoint. I loved Amiya and Lennon’s chemistry and their story was so beautiful. I loved all the other characters in this book and I plan to go back and read the first 2 books in this series.
Passing Ships was the five stars fairy tale I didn't know I needed. Amiya and Lennon were so sweet and perfect together that I don't know who's story gonna be better than theirs. And let me tell you so far I want to move to Sandcastle Cove even though it's fictional. How crazy is that? Loved it that Avie and Sebastian were in their story. As well as Wade and Eden. Lennon and Amiya and back in Sandcastle Cove for Avie and Sebastian's wedding. They are not only the Best man and the Maid of Honor but also a roomies . And they are working through some important things in their lives . It was so good that they both on their own were thinking about moving and changing their lives. For Lennon it was about staying close to his family and not missing anything. For Amiya it was about being close to her family of choice and her friends. While navigating all the obstacles in arranging a marriage and working on their issues they slowly fall for each other. But they have more than rocky beginning. Because they have an one night stand almost a year ago but Lennon didn't contact Amiya even though he has her number. And Miya is a little bit disappointed and bitter. After that misunderstanding is cleared they continue from where they left it and for two people that are getting to know each other they have a pretty good relationship. And being Leia's favorite uncle and aunt helped a lot. For a short amount of time they became a constant in each others lives. And that wedding day was so eventful and full of revelations for them. That epilogue though proved that sometimes two passing ships come to the same safe harbour.
Thanks to the author and WordSmith Publicity for the opportunity to read and review an early copy of this book.
Small town romance is my absolute favorite and this was such a great read. This was my first time reading anything by Amber Kelly & I really liked her writing and definitely will be reading more of her books. This is book 3 in the Sand Castle Cove series & can be read as a standalone. I didn’t read the first two but even though characters overlap, it didn’t take away from the reading experience at all 🥰
Lennon is a Navy Captain on leave to be the best man at his brother’s wedding in Sand Castle Cove & Amiyah is a corporate girlie that lives in Atlanta & is in town to fulfill her maid of honor duties for her best friend, Avie. Turns out, Avie is marrying Lennon’s younger brother, Sebastian.
I really liked both characters! The chemistry and tension between Lennon & Amiyah was great & both struggled to resist the strong attraction & pull they felt to one another. Both characters had things they needed to work on & decisions to make in their lives, but I love that they were willing to do it together. Neither were looking for love but love that they got their HEA 🤍
I definitely plan on reading the other books in the series & if you’re looking for a quick, spicy & swoon worthy read, I definitely recommend adding to your TBR. Thank you Amber & Wordsmith publicity for the ARC ✨
Tropes: - Small town romance - Forced proximity - Opposites attract - Military MMC - Corporate FMC - Dual POV
Small-town romance is one of my all-time favorites, but when you pair it with a coastal Carolina setting it's irresistible. I fell in love with Sandcastle Cove and it’s people and can’t get enough. If you haven’t yet read this talented storyteller’s work, you’re really missing out.
Love is in the air and wedding festivities are on the calendar, so Amiya Chelton leaves Atlanta and heads to Sandcastle Cove to be her best friend's maid of honor, right hand gal, and mediator of conflict when it comes to dealing with a well-intended momzilla. That's all good with Amiya, until she finds out she'll be sharing the beach cabana with Lennon, the grumpy, stoic brother of the groom.
This forced-proximity, grumpy/sunshine romance is heartfelt, humorous, and captivating, but it's the people that really make this story shine. Lennon's family is charming and funny, and the banter between friends is lively and hilarious. Lennon seems like such a contradiction with his buttoned-up personality, but he fits in perfectly and is perfect for Amiya.
Amiya deserves her own shout-out, and I adore her because she's unapologetically herself. She knows her strengths and weaknesses and embraces them, always being true. She's fiercely loyal and finds her own place to belong with her best friend's family and friends. I love the strong family element, both Lennon's close knit family that spans generations and the found family borne through friendship and shared heartache. Brimming with humor, heat, and heart, you won’t want to miss this phenomenal, special small-town romance!
This story centers on everything leading up to Avie and Sebastian’s wedding (their story is book 1, 𝒞𝒽𝒶𝓃𝑔𝒾𝓃𝑔 𝒯𝒾𝒹𝑒𝓈) but most importantly, the relationship building between Avie’s best friend, Amiya, her maid of honor in town from Atlanta, and Sebastian’s big brother Lincoln, on leave from the Navy to be best man. There are immediate sparks between these two and both are considering a move to Sandcastle Cove, but neither is mentioning this to the other because, well, neither can quite articulate their feelings. Lust? Attraction? Hot steamy times? Absolutely. But feelings? A real relationship? Oh no way.
This can be read as a stand alone, but I’ve been anxiously waiting for Amiya’s story because we meet her in book 1 of this series and she’s already shown herself as tough, funny, sarcastic, and a fiercely loyal friend. She’s one force of nature to be sure and she’s been a favorite of mine from the beginning. Now, forced to share a small cabana in the midst of all the wedding preparations, Amiya’s push and pull relationship with thoughtful, stoic Lincoln is a compelling read. Talk about opposites in every way. Add in their misadventures with a certain wedding cake, and you have fun and emotional times wrapped up together in a bow.
There’s nothing not to love about Lincoln and Amiya. Their slow realization to a HEA is definitely worth the wait.
Oh, and the description of this shore town, the restaurants these characters go to, the places they visit, all of it makes you want to find your own Sandcastle Cove and visit immediately.
Passing Ships is book 3 in the Sandcastle Cove series and features Amiya (Avie's best friend) and Lennon ( Sebastian's brother). I am so glad that my girl Amiya finally gets her happily ever after. I have been a huge fan of her since book one in the series . She is the best best friend you can ask for and she deserves a love like Lennon.
While they were both in town for Sebastian & Avie's engagement party they shared an incredible night together. Fast forward 9 months and they are back in town together for the wedding festivities. Amiya might be a little salty that Lennon never contacted her even though she put her info in his phone. But they share a connection and they can't stay away from each other when they are forced to share a cabana while in town.
I loved that he just got her, even when she was trying to be aloof, he saw through to the real her. She confided in him things she hadn't even told Avie. Lennon is everything you want in a man. I mean first off he is a solider...Hello Officer!!!! He is strong, wasn't afraid to let his niece paint his nails and even though his service took him away more often then not, he always tried to be home and help out when needed.
The banter between not only Lennon and Amiya but the whole cast is perfection. I know we are close to fall but this series just takes me back to summer and is the perfect beach read.
3.5☆ This was a sweet and steamy small town romance that was a quick and easy read. Since binge reading the previous two books, I have been excited for this one. Amiya has been my fave side character since book one of the series and I loved the breadcrumbs we were left for her and Lennon previously.
She’s carefree and fiery while he’s controlled and a little bit grumpy. They’re complete opposites who shared one night together and now are back in Sandcastle Cove for the wedding of Lennon’s brother and Amiya’s best friend. They try to deny there was anything more but it doesn’t take long before they give in to the pull between them. I really loved them together and how they complimented one another.
I do wish we got more of their connection, the book was very heavy on the previous couples wedding and they seemed to go from zero to in love real quick with not much to build up that we got on page.
Passing Ships is my first book by Amber Kelly. This is book 3 in the Sand Castle Cove series and it can be read as a complete stand alone, even though previous characters do overlap . This is Lennon and Amiya’s story.
Our MMC, Lennon, has taken a short leave from the Navy to come to Sand Castle Cove for his brother, Sebastian’s wedding. In the near future Lennon has to make a tough decision for his career, and as of yet has no idea which way he should go.
Amiya, she is a corporate financial analyst that is based in Atlanta. She’s in town to watch her best friend, Avie, marry the love of her life, Sebastian, who just happens to be Lennons younger brother. Amiya is a strong and independent woman, but who has also overcome the crap hand she was dealt. Her one family member, her grandmother, is deteriorating before her eyes and there’s nothing she can do but be at her side.
Lennon and Amiya are in town to give Sebastian and Avie the wedding they want and need but what Lennon and Amiya got was so much more. They both had stuff to work out in their lives but are choosing to do it side by side. The chemistry between Amiya and Lennon is explosive and spicy and I loved seeing them get their HEA. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Thank you to wordsmith publicity for the advanced copy.
Passing Ships is the perfect opposites attract romance! Lennon and Amiya burn hot and fall for one another without realizing it's happening. I love them so much!
These two just fit together so seamlessly. Amiya helps Lennon to let go and be a little wild, while he provides stability and support. Watching them with little Leia (his niece) was so cute!
Amiya is in Sandcastle Cove to help make her best friend's wedding perfect. She doesn't let people into her heart easily but these two have been best friends forever. She says she doesn't believe in love for herself, but she herself is so loving! Watching her open up to Lennon was the best.
Lennon is a Navy man who is thinking about what he wants in the next phase of his life. His brother is getting married and he wants to be closer to family. In comes Amiya who gets under his skin and into his heart. I loved him so much!
I love that there's no break up and that they communicate so well. Opposites attract is one of my favorite tropes and it was so well written in this book! I am loving the Sandcastle Cove series!!
4.5 Stars I love being back in Sandcastle Cove. We get Avie's best friend Amiya's story. I couldn't wait to dive into this one. Plus Lennon is Sebastian's brother which made this book even better. Bonus Lennon is in the Navy. I was so excited to get more of Sebastian and Avie's daughter Leia. She's still so adorable!!! Lennon in uncle mode is so swoon worthy. I don't know how Amiya stood a chance not falling for him. This book is like a fairytale and made my romantic heart happy sigh. The epilogue was the cherry on top of this book sundae and so perfect of an ending for this couple. There was a sad note which broke my heart for Amiya. I know how she felt. A great book that I highly recommend!!
I am living for the world of the small coastal town of Sandcastle Cove that Amber Kelly has created in her ongoing series. This world has given us such endearing characters and romance from the beginning.
Most recently, we get to learn about Amiya and Lennon who are absolutely precious. From the get go, these two have undeniable chemistry and one amazing night together. Eventually, they both end up back in Sandcastle Cove for maid of honor and best man duties at their best friend’s and brother’s wedding. Not only do they have to work together for their wedding roles, but they are forced to be temporary roommates due to an unforeseen mixup. It’s during their time as temporary roommates that they truly begin to who the other person really is and what they could be together. Both characters had their own enteral battles that perfectly balanced out the other and what they needed in their lives. A perfect combination of emotion and tension and heartfelt storytelling. It was such a beautiful story that unfolded between Amiya and Lennon for their happy ending that did not disappoint.
Thank you @authoramberkelly & @wordsmithpublicity for an ARC!
This is a small town forced proximity romance . Lennon is finding where he belong after serving time in the military. Free spirited Amiya is looking for one night of fun. Amiya and Lennon have some tension between the two after multiple run ins with each other. They have great banter with one another and even better tension. I enjoyed this book I was glad Lennon and Amiya found what they needed. I laughed so hard when it was wedding time the madness that happened was too funny.
I'm really loving this small coastal town of Sandcastle Cove and its inhabitants 🥰
It's Amiya's turn and she's helping her best friend prepare for her wedding. She's also rooming with the groom's brother who happens to be a sailor, military man, a little grumpy on the side, and with whom she had a one night stand a few months ago.
Yes, please.
If you're looking for cute, fluffy stories I definitely recommend these!
Amiya Chelton's best friend Avie is getting married in Sandcastle Cove and she will do everything to make it perfect for her. While in town for the engagement party she happens to hook up with the best man who is the groom's brother. She left her name and number in his phone but never heard from him. Now nine months later they are back for the wedding.
Lennon Harraway is back to attend the wedding of his younger brother. With everyone that the bride's mom has invited, he ends up sharing the cottage with Amiya for the next month. They still share a connection and can't seem to stay away from each other.
Both have life changing decisions to make, he on the direction of his career and whether to retire from the military and she on moving to be closer to family. But their first priority is to make sure this wedding comes off without a hitch.
4 stars There is some funny bantering between the girls and on the day of the wedding crazy things happen. Cute story.
If Amber writes it, I read it. This is book three in th Sandcastle Cove series, and this is probably my favorite. I love silent men in romance books, and Lennon hit the spot. This was perfect! Amiya believed that girls deserved all the love in the world. She may have seemed confident, but she just wanted to be loved. Honestly, these two fit perfectly together like puzzle pieces. If you wish to angst, laughs, and a bit of tears, this is your book.
I received this as an arc from Wordsmith Publicity and I’m voluntarily leaving my honest review.
This was a fantastic forced proximity romance. It was a really well written story with a great pace. It was the third book in the series but it could easily be read as a standalone, I hadn’t read the other books but seeing as I loved this so much I immediately bought the rest of the series and I can’t wait to read them.
I loved the way the relationship between Amiya and Lennon developed, the two had incredible chemistry and I couldn’t get enough of them together.
Thank you to Amber for the ARC and opportunity to provide an honest review.
This book was amazing. Amiya and Lennon were brilliantly written main characters, who were supported by an amazing group of characters from previous books in the Sandcastle Cove series. Lennon was such a great MMC who doesn't love a sailor? I loved Lennon and Amiya's banter and the way they connected brilliantly. Loved the found family vibes of this book. The friendships were brilliantly written. Amiya was a character who felt strong connections to the people in her life, I loved her determination and her sarcasm, she was the perfect match for Lennon.
I absolutely LOVED this book. Amiya and Lennon are fire! WELL DONE, AMBER KELLY! 👏👏👏
This book brings the spice and quickly at that! Amiya and Lennon have such a hot on page chemistry which makes those moments even more sexy when you get to them!
Amiya is such a tough, independent little spitfire! I loved her take no shit attitude. And Lennon is the perfect grumpy to her sunshine. Honestly, I loved how he is a a bit of a moody grump but that it wasn’t so much that he was written to constantly be an ass throughout the book. They are such a great forced proximity and opposite’s attract couple. They were so fun to read!
I was so sad that this book ended! I truly wanted so much more, I wasn’t ready for their story to end. This is my favorite from the Sandcastle Cove series and I highly recommend it. Definitely add it to your TBR if you haven’t already!
I have read the first two books in this series and was so excited to see who the third book was about and it did not disappoint! Lennon and Amiyah are everything and balance each other so well.
Lennon and Amiyah were the most unlikely match but they fit each other perfectly. Lennon is calm, collected and careful where Amiyah is sassy, quick and a bit carefree but these two balanced each other perfectly.
You could feel the sparks between these two during their first meeting and the spice is pretty instant with these two having one night together. But Amiyah thought Lennon forgot about her so when the reunite for her best friend/his brother’s wedding there is a bit of tension between the two. Once these two work through this tension these two find their groove with one another. While Lennon is grumpy he isn’t rude to people or Amiyah and he finds amusement with her antics vs being annoyed and I loved that! Honestly I could go on and on about this book and I wish it would have been longer because I honestly loved these two as a couple especially towards the end where Lennon told Amiyah exactly what he wanted with their relationship and his plans to make it happen…..it was everything we want to see in a book!
If you are looking for a quick swoon worthy romance with story, growth and spice this is the book for you!
Thank you Amber and Wordsmith Publicity for the arc of this book.
5 Star Review Passing Ships (Sandcastle Cove # 3) by Amber Kelly
It was great to be back in Sandcastle Cove, for a small town love story. It is a genre that I enjoy and one that Amber Kelly does extremely well. Passing Ships was a well written, emotional, romantic, and heartwarming story that was everything I look for in a romance.
Lennon and Amiya could not be more different and yet they worked so well together. Their chemistry was intense and I just loved them as a couple. Ms. Kelly’s characters are engaging and easy to relate too.
I was invested in the story that Ms.Kelly wove from the first chapter to the last and it left me with a smile on my face.
In Passing Ships, Amber Kelly crafts a charming, tension-filled romance set against the idyllic backdrop of Sandcastle Cove. The story follows the fiery connection between the free-spirited maid of honor, Tatum, and the disciplined Naval officer, Lennon Harraway, the best man. Their opposites-attract dynamic drives much of the novel's appeal, creating an engaging blend of steamy chemistry and emotional tension.
The plot revolves around their shared responsibility to make sure Avie and Lennon's brother's wedding goes smoothly. Tatum's carefree, rebellious attitude clashes beautifully with Lennon’s strict, rule-bound nature. Kelly does an excellent job of building the chemistry between these two seemingly incompatible personalities, with sparks flying from their first encounter.
While the romantic tension is palpable, the novel also explores deeper themes of personal growth, overcoming prejudices, and discovering common ground. Their romance unfolds at a satisfying pace, giving readers time to invest in the characters' journeys and the challenges they face as they move from enemies to lovers.
Kelly's vivid descriptions of the coastal setting and lively cast of secondary characters make Passing Ships a breezy, feel-good read, perfect for fans of summer romances. It's an enjoyable mix of banter, passion, and heartwarming moments, making it hard to put down. For readers who love opposites-attract love stories with a splash of sunshine and a pinch of drama, this novel delivers.

ARC provided by @wordsmithpublicity and I happily give my honest opinion.
I came home from RARE Edinburgh on Friday to find this book in my inbox. I was so pleased to see it but I didn’t get a chance to start it until Sunday as I was at RARE all day of Saturday as well and I met @authoramberkelly!
I loved Amiya in the first book in the series and was so glad to see her getting her own book. Lennon was part of the Sandcastle Cove family who was away in the Navy, it was lovely seeing him come home.
Amiya comes to town for her bestie’s engagement party and has one night with Lennon, who is the groom’s brother. They are thrown together again a few months later when she is the Maid of Honour and he is the Best Man for the wedding.
This is a passionate story from the very beginning and although they try to stay away from each other they are constantly pulled back together.
Amiya didn’t have the close family bonds that Lennon had growing up and is used to taking care of herself. It was so nice watching her open up and let Lennon in. I loved seeing him take care of her when she needed it most.
I loved how fierce, spirited, fun and loving Amiya was. I definitely had a girl crush. I even understood her reluctance to open her heart to start with.
Lennon realises that there is more to life than his career and Amiya gives him someone to show how caring, loyal and loving he can be.
This was a fun, sweet read with a good bit of heat. I read it on one day (which is unusual for me these days!). It was nice seeing all the previous characters again.
FMC: Amiya Chelton MMC: Lennon Harroway Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️ Pages: 256 Tropes: Small Town Romance, Opposites Attract, Close Proximity, One Night Stand, Miscommunication, Grumpy/Sunshine, Military MMC Setting: Sandcastle Cove, NC
Thoughts: This was another book I wish I’d read while on vacation. I think it was a little too lighthearted for my current mood. I still liked the characters and the concept. I just think it didn’t hold my attention enough for me to feel invested.
Amiya was a strong fmc. She didn’t let people into her circle easily and felt slighted by the fact that Lennon never contacted her after their one night stand. She had a major shift in attitude during the short time of this story. She went from not wanting a lasting relationship to falling hard and fast for Lennon. She didn’t know how to articulate her feelings and I felt like that could have been explored more.
After reading this book I didn’t feel like I really knew Lennon at all. He was contemplating what was next for him and helping with his brother’s wedding plans. But he also didn’t articulate his feelings for Amiya well at all. There was never really a good explanation about his character or who he was outside of being Sebastian’s older brother who spent the last 20 years in the Navy and being a good uncle to Leia.
If you’re looking for a strong, loyal, funny, female lead character, look no further than Amiya. If you read the previous book in the series, you know that she is Avie‘s best friend, and there isn’t anything she wouldn’t do for Avie and Leia. She is sassy, and brilliant, with a heart as big as the sea. But she also holds part of herself back, because of her past. Back on island for Avie‘s wedding, this maid of honor throws off some serious sparks with Lennon, best man and brother of the groom. Lennon is kind of at a crossroad in his life as well, missing the family he has in Sandcastle Cove, but still dedicated to his life in the Navy. He’s also seriously attracted to Amiya, but they’re one night together a year ago was all they had. So far. These two had both great banter and high heat levels. They are probably my favorite couple on the series, at least so far. I always like to keep that option open for anyone who might come after this one. But it’s gonna be hard to beat the spice, the heart and tge connection of Amaya and Lennon. Five stars
This is the first book I have read from Amber, and I liked it. It was easy to read, great characters and I want to go to Sandcastle Cove.
Amiya is our FMC. There is toughness about her from a past she doesn't talk about, and because of this, doesn't believe she will love or be loved. Her initial meeting with our MMC Lennon, is when her best friend Avie becomes engaged to Lennon's brother Sebastian. Of course the spice hits, but thats where it ended....for now.
Lennon never forgot Amiya and vice versa, and now, here they are, forced to share the cabana, and navigate the best wedding. This gives them time to truly see each other, and amp the ante on that spice. There are a few funny moments, and some that had me feel the pain. A good read, and I look forward to reading more of Amber's books in the future. This may be Book 3 in this series, but this is a complete standalone, and as someone who has not read either of the first two books, it was easy to follow.
*4 stars* I've really been enjoying the books by the author and was looking forward to read this story. I loved the banter and chemistry between Lennon & Amiya but also loved the side characters that added some more charisma to the story. It was a funny heartwarming story of two people coming together throughout everything that has happened in life. A great enjoyable read that had a lot of goodfeel moments!
As Amiya comes into town for her best friend's wedding, she loves being back surrounded by friends but when she's forced to share a cabana with Lennon, there'll be a shift in their relationship. They have some unresolved business but it soon comes clear that there's a spark between between them that they can't seem to ignore. As time goes on, Lennon's exterior slowly unfolds and their walls are coming down. Who knows what could be next for them but when tragedy strikes, Amiya will have to make a decision on what to do next. Will they find their way to each other in the end?...
