The Spotlight

Rate this book
Conway Danvers. Heartbreaker. Rockstar. My childhood best friend’s older brother. The lead singer of the Sovereign Kings.

And he just propositioned me.

He doesn’t remember me. Conway’s just a player with a reputation.

He is the first boy I ever had a crush on. Now, millions of people around the world are obsessed with his band.

We’re nothing alike. I prefer the shadows and he prefers the spotlight.

Conway looks at me like he wants to make good on his promises.

I don’t want the legend. I want the man underneath. I want to let him be my undoing.

Every verbal spar is the foreplay we shouldn’t partake in. Every touch pulls me deeper under his spell.

Every kiss becomes an addiction.

Even though we know we shouldn’t, we can’t help but fall.

I never expected Conway to be the one to push me outside my comfort zone.

I never expected him to be the one to fight for me.

The spotlight burns bright.

But Conway Danvers burns hotter.

Conway & Sienna
Conway is the lead singer in the most popular band in the world, a real playboy that's not into relationships. Sienna is not looking to be a one night stand, so when he propositions her she shoots him down good. They form a cute, supportive friendship, though.

Sienna hates the spotlight, but she's desperate for money, so when an opportunity to become a model arises she jumps at the chance. I really liked how she wanted to stay true to herself and only modeled for reputable companies that are big on making a difference and are eco friendly. Her commitment to Leola and Ruth, who raised her from a young age, was admirable. She's quite an independent and strong woman who doesn't take any crap. Even though Conway is a gazillionaire she still insisted on paying her way and not taking any handouts. I loved when she took him out to a play and was so excited for the $10 tickets, get that good deal, girl!

It took me a minute to warm up to Conway, but once I did I was loving his commitment to Sienna. He falls first!!

It was a bit of a slow burn as they really got to know each other first, mostly on the phone, but I liked that build up. They both have a sad past, which increased their bond. They had great communication and I'm always thrilled when there's no 3rd act breakup!

Overall, a great series starter with a great bunch of side characters. Looking forward to reading about the rest of the band, which will surely be a treat!

The Spotlight is a sexy Rockstar romance. Conway Danvers has the music world at his feet and he has no intention of slowing down. His band is the hottest music act right now and his reputation as a playboy only intensifies his bad boy image. For Conway, life is perfect and he's not changing any time soon. But he soon sings a different tune when he comes face to face with his little sister's best friend.

Sienna has always lived her life privately and with a plan. Rules are important to her and having a plan for her future does not include having a chaotic life. One look into the eyes of her best friend's famous brother and she knows that her once quiet life, is going to take a drastic turn.

tumblr-obwp8l-Ck-Qh1vs3wx8o1-500

I have to be honest and say that I'm not a big fan of Rockstar romance. I've read a few of them and I think that it's just a personal preference. With this story, I really liked that the author showed us the band's touring and what it's like onstage but she didn't overwhelm the reader with a day to day touring schedule. I liked seeing the family side of things and I personally wished that there were more interactions like that.

The issue that I had with this one was one of the main character’s sudden change of heart with things. I was expecting things to gradually lead up to this big moment of clarity and it never happened.

If you're a fan of Rockstar's best friend's brother romance, then you should give this one a try.

3⭐️ I’m a sucker for friends to lovers but this just wasn’t it for me. Too cringe.

Conway is cocky and arrogant and a little (a lot) childish with the whole Griff situation. Time to get over it buddy. But he was cute. A good reformed playboy character who truly thought and felt the world for Sienna and wanted to give it to her too. I think he did a great job at conveying his feelings for her.

Sienna was so difficult to relate to. Didn’t like her character practically at all. Love the body positivity. What I don’t like is how she kinda bashes models… like okay not everyone covets that type of job but she makes it seem like it’s bad that some women do. She’s judgemental about it. And I understand she doesn’t have it the easiest and is definitely judged right back but it seems like she’d be above that. But I did love when she threw it back. But I don’t think she appreciates what she has when she’s so lucky to have it, just because she doesn’t want it. Which was something that seemed like a theme when she’s asking Conway to show her she’s important to him after he flew half way across the world to get to her because of a family emergency and unanswered texts… babe. He is showing you.

It took 55% to mention that the mmc has a sleeve… like it was an afterthought halfway through the book that had to be worked in somehow. Excellent kissing in the rain moment though.

Cringe. Just cringe. The writing is cringe.
I felt like it was kind of a cringey knock off of Mile High. Overall just not the vibe for me.

✨Arc Review✨

A round of applause for Ann Einerson as she has just wrote my favourite rockstar romance of 2023👏🏼

Over 24 hours later I have finally finished and I can honestly say that my heart is so full🥹

From the tropes alone my interest was snagged and I knew I would enjoy this book before even reading the first sentence:
- Rockstar Romance
- Best friends Brother
- Found Family
- Opposites Attract
- Secret Relationship
- No Third Act Breakup

Yes you saw that right there No👏🏼 Third👏🏼 Act👏🏼 Breakup👏🏼. Sienna and Conway actually communicate their issues to one another and work through their problems as they don’t want to lose one another, and let’s just be real here you work through your problems when you love someone, and I am delighted this is a feature of this book because the love that they share for one another is undeniable.

A brief overview: Well this book follows Conway who is the lead singer of the band Sovereign Kings and Sienna who is Conways little sisters best friend. Sienna loses touch with her best friend but she soon becomes reconnect with her best friend and older brother when she fills in for a model at a fashion shoot. At the beginning of this book Conway is you’re typical playboy rockstar and does in fact proposition Sienna without realising who she actually is, and damn does our girl reject him hard which of course is a massive blow to Conways ego💅

Anywho, Siennas shoot is a massive flop but she gives the rude designer a piece of her mind and as a result of this it actually provides her with a lot of publicity for speaking what everyone else has been thinking. Again another massive slay for our girl👏🏼

The attraction between Conway and Sienna is undeniably evident but they do decide to be “friends” at the very beginning. I absolutely loved this as it allowed both MCs to learn more about each other and this most definitely heightened to their feelings about one another. And let me say when the breaking point hits and they both finally give into how they feel… it gets HOT🌶️ Ann certainly knows what she is doing when she is writing those spicy moments (R.I.P to my kindle highlights👀)

The found family trope most definitely will be an ultimate favourite of mine. In this book we see found family when it comes to Conway and his band and the special bond their share, and Sienna when her two neighbours Ruth and Leola adopt her when her father abandons her as a child. Ruth and Leola have my absolute heart as they have provided Sienna with the unconditional love her blood relations failed to give her❤️ Siennas mother passed away in childbirth but I absolutely adore that they keep a photo of her mother hanging in their house as a keepsake😭

This is the first book I have read by Ann and it most certainly won’t be the last as words cannot describe how much I adored this book. I enjoyed the journey from start to finish watching how both Conway and Sienna evolve🫶🏼

I am entirely grateful to Ann to be provided the opportunity to read this book for my honest review💗

✨️Rockstar romance
✨️Best friend's brother
✨️Opposites Attract
✨️Found Family

I don't even remember the last time I had read a rockstar romance, and this one brought me the best feelings.

I really enjoyed the main characters. Sienna is wonderful; she's the epitome of a Girl Boss. I love that she's not afraid to speak her mind. Personally, I much prefer it when the female main character is like that.

Conway was a pleasant surprise. In the beginning, he was a genuine rockstar, jumping from woman to woman, but as he starts to get closer to Sienna and develops feelings he becomes a different person, which resulted in moments of me reading and smiling and tapping my feet with excitement. 😅

🫠"I'm yours, Sienna. There's no one else for me. Give me the chance to give you the entire universe on a silver platter." 🫠

I really liked how their relationship was developed; they got to know each other better and built a friendship before finally getting together. I also enjoyed them as a couple, the way they communicate and want to be together; they had several cute moments.

I would love to see more about the secondary characters and to delve deeper into the dynamics of the band. I can't wait for the next books in the series.

I really enjoyed this book and recommend it.

I received an advanced copy in exchange for my honest review. But all opinions are my own.

Thank you very much, Ann Einerson, for sending me this ARC.

I want to preface this by saying, after reading three rockstar romances to date, it appears as though this particular trope may not be my cup of tea. So don’t hate the player, hate the game. There’s an ease about Einerson’s writing that I think a lot of people will love and find an escape in. So my hope is that even after reading my thoughts, you’ll leave with an open mind! As I’ve learned along my reading journey, if you’re on the fence about an author or book, it’s best to just give it a chance.

Let’s talk about this absolute girl boss that is Sienna Cartwright! Let me tell you, this girl will not tolerate any disrespect, especially not from a man. She’s not afraid to speak her mind and those are my favorite kind of protagonists.

As for Conway, I’ve never been a reformed play boy kind of girlie, so I definitely think him and I would clash if we were in a room together…

Now, in regards to the story itself, there were quite a number of plot lines that were forgotten or just not given the time of day. The most noticeable one was the disconnect between Conway and Griff, the band’s drummer. We’re told why this came to be, but truthfully, it came across as a very juvenile explanation and seemed to devalue any character growth on Conway’s end.

The traumas that both Conway and Sienna are attempting to make peace with from their respective childhoods seemed to be placed on the back burner and weren’t used as effectively to progress the plot as they could’ve been. Overall, it seemed like more wasn’t taking place than what was.

Much like the plot, the character development was stagnant if not non-existent. I’ve never been a book one couple kind of girl, usually preferring the pair that close out a series, so I’m not surprised that I was detached from both Sienna and Conway’s arcs. I would’ve liked the author to have proven me wrong though, just this once, but it’s more a reflection of my personal biases as opposed to the author’s writing ability.

The characters did seem to be self-aware to a fault. So much so that their actions and apologies didn’t seem genuine. I very much appreciated that most of the supporting characters were more than willing to call others out when they’re in the wrong though.

The conflict shifted confusingly so throughout the book. Initially it appeared as though it was going to be Conway’s playboy ways clashing with Sienna’s vow of commitment, but then it shifted to become the drastic difference in their lifestyles in regard to the public. The structure just lacked the clarity I crave as a reader.

I hope we get to see more of the rock and roll aspect in the upcoming novels. Seeing the band in their element would’ve created more depth not only with the characters, but their story as well.

As for the tropes, they were loosely used and I don’t mean that in an inherently bad way. Just meaning that they’re more parameters for the book as opposed to strict plot points as we see with most romances these days. Lennon, Conway’s sister, used to be best friend’s with our female protagonist, Sienna, but they’ve lost touch throughout the years. Even as the novel progresses, we don’t see a strong bond between Lennon and Sienna, or at least one that would warrant Conway the term “best friend’s brother.” As for the virgin FMC trope, it was mentioned that Sienna had never slept with anyone before, but while she was telling us, the readers, that she wanted it to be special, it didn’t appear that way when she ended up sleeping with Conway. Now, that’s just a personal opinion and I do think there are benefits to not overtly putting pressure on her “first time.” It’s merely a fact to be acknowledged going into this.

That being said, I cannot wait to see where the author takes this series! Chapter one, I immediately became invested in the other members of the Sovereign Kings, particularly Grayson. I mean, a reserved “modern day Clark Kent” with thick, black rimmed glasses. I dare you to tell me that isn’t hot. Spoiler alert, you can’t because it is. So, so hot. Let’s also talk about how he plays the BASS GUITAR. As a Calum Hood girlie, I’m living my best life. Thriving like never before.

Thank you to Ann for kindly sending me an ARC! As always, all opinions are my own and are not influenced by early access to this title.

Okay, I usually don’t go for rockstar romance, but I took a gander here. And it was worth it 👏🏻 I enjoyed this sweet romance; it is not an angsty romance - so you can’t go in thinking that. The character development for both the MMC and FMC was so good from beginning to end. You really see both Conway and Sienna learn and grow through the entire book. Loved the sweetness and realness of some of the relationship concepts they endured. Conway was a tool at the beginning, but he’s that bad boy / playboy type of lead singer for a rock band. Sienna really made sure to stay as genuine to self as possible despite being thrown into the spotlight, which she hates. Together they work through fears, past trauma, and relationships struggles. This is a slow burn and minimal spice! The side characters are also fun, like her ‘grandparents’, and I’m excited to read about the other band members. I have my eye on a couple 👀

Plot: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice: 🌶️🌶️

Quote:
“Believe in yourself, Ace. Take the leap of faith. If you don’t push your boundaries and step outside your comfort zone, you’ll miss out on a world of opportunities. Don’t let this be one of them.”

This is a rockstar romance following Conway, the lead singer of a band, and Sienna, his sister’s best friend. When their paths cross again, the electricity starts to spark, but she’s not looking for a one night stand and he’s not looking for a relationship. They decide to be friends for the sake of his sister, but neither of them expected to fall.

♡ Opposites attract

The Spotlight was sooooo good. I love a good rockstar romance, so when Ann reached out to me about reading an early copy of her new book I was in the second I read the word rockstar. It had so many great tropes apart from the rockstar one, it was also a best friend’s brother romance and those honestly also hits so different when they are written right and this one was.

The Spotlight revolves around Sienna and Conway. They have known each other for years since Sienna was high school best friend’s with Conway’s sister but after he got famous and Sienna lost contact with Lennon he didn’t realize it was her when they stumbled upon each other years later. But once Sienna Cartwright stepped into Conway Danvers life again, he was definitely not gonna forget her a second time around.

I’m totally obsessed with this book and I can’t wait for the next book in the series. I need to know all about the members in Sovereign Kings. Count me in!!!

Also the found family element? Anything that happens to have the found family trope in it immediately wins me over. I loved it!

The Spotlight by Ann Einerson 🎤

Conway is the lead singer of the band Sovereign Kings and the childhood crush of Sienna. They hadn't see each other in a long time and when they run into each other again Conway doesn't recognize Sienna right away. And being the bit of a player he is, he propositions her. Sienna immediately turns him down, they're both totally opposites anyway. He loves the spotlight while she prefers the shadows. As they end up spending more time together, their banter turns into lingering stares. They both know they shouldn't, but they decide to take the leap anyway.

I always love a rockstar romance, so I was super excited for this one. Conway and Sienna are opposites to each other and it was really interesting seeing them go from strangers who used to know each other, to reluctant friends, and then to something more. I liked getting to see them both learn more of the little things about the other and just falling even more. Sienna was an interesting a complex character that definitely has been through a lot and is willing to do whatever she needs to care for those she loves.

Conway took a little bit to warm up to for me. However I really liked how his character developed through the book and how he moved from the player to someone who cares so deeply for Sienna. Plus the fact that he falls first for her and tries to convince her he really wants her makes it very satisfying to read.

I liked that there wasn't a third act breakup with these two, especially since it was a little bit of a slow burn. They had a good conversation when the conflict happen instead of the dreaded breakup immediately.

I think this is going to end up being a really fun series and am looking forward to the next book to see where things go!

I haven’t read many rockstar romances but this was so good!

Conway is the lead singer for Sovereign Kings and is what you would expect for a famous rockstar- playboy, cocky, somewhat wild. Sienna used to be best friends with Lennon, Conway’s younger sister, before growing apart. When Sienna, a personal assistant for a modeling company, has to fill in for a model she is propositioned by Conway. She realizes he doesn’t even remember her and quickly turns down his suggestion for a one night stand.

Both Conway and Sienna have troubles with their past. Conway grew up being locked away and with the responsibility of caring for his younger sister. Sienna dealt with her father leaving her a few years after her mother had passed during her childbirth. This left her feeling abandoned, but she was taken in and adopted by her neighbors Ruth and Leola and shown unconditional love. The found family trope has quickly became one of my favorites! I was so touched to see how it played out here.

Conway and Sienna’s relationship is complex. They both knew it wouldn’t make sense for them to further it, but they were drawn to each other and had difficulty remaining just friends. I loved that when they finally decided to give it a shot, they were able to communicate their feelings well. There was no third act breakup (WOOOHOO!) because they knew how to discuss what was bothering them and come to a solution together. There was a lot of character growth for both of them.

I also loved Lennon and Conway’s relationship and was happy they were able to put their past and memories of their mother behind them. And Leola and Ruth!! I loved them both so much and was happy they were on board with Conway’s plans in Las Vegas! Overall, I really enjoyed this one and look forward to seeing what’s next! 💗

Fun. If I’m asked to describe this book in one word it’s fun. Right from the very first page boy was this good! You know how in some rockstar romance, the music aspect takes a back seater and is mentioned only in passing or at the appropriate plot point? This book wasn’t like that. The author went in depth with how the band came to be, their dynamics and everything! I loved reading about all that!

Now the characters. I think they were done justice to. Conway Danvers was the perfect combination of asshole and sweet. I particularly loved his obsession with her. He was kind and considerate and said the sweetest things ever! Cherry on top? He was hot too. Sienna Cartwright. I loved her feistiness. But I also loved how soft she sometimes was too.

Above all, I loved how vulnerable these two could be together. How forthright they were with their feelings and past traumas. I loved how they could lean on each other for support and their communication! This book has one of the best communication ever! The characters actually talk about their issues and they’re always willing to listen to the other person! I found that very refreshing!

Would’ve wanted to see more of the other band mates though. Seeing as they’d be getting their books too, I’d have loved those little snippets of what the next book would be about to create that build up and anticipation. But that’s just a personal preference and so affects the book in no way.

I recommend this book. Read it when it comes out! A big thank you to the author for the opportunity to read an ARC!

-rockstar romance
-best friends brother

loved this one!! it’s been a little while since i’ve read a rockstar romance and i forgot how much fun they are!! this book follows sienna & conway. conway and his band are the biggest thing in rock & roll. and conway is a huge playboy with a no strings attached lifestyle. his sister & band are his family and he’s extremely loyal to those he cares about. when his little sisters best friend, sienna, comes back into the picture he doesn’t remember her and shamelessly hits on her. except she wasn’t putting up with his charming ways and put him in his place.

conway was weary of sienna using the band to gain favors but quickly realized how down to earth sienna is. she’s doing everything she can to support her family and they’re her number one priority always. as sienna & conway keep crossing paths, it’s clear that there’s a strong connection between the two of them and that they can’t help but feeling drawn to one another. sienna has reservations about being in the spotlight and prefers to keep her private life private while conway is used to being on the front pages of magazines. it definitely makes for an interesting pairing and is reflected a lot in the plot of the book as they try to keep their relationship hidden from the media.

the spice in this one was great and i loved getting to see sienna and conway opening up to one another about things they hadn’t shared with others before. also the way conway treats sienna’s family is absolutely everything! & it was nice to see the two of them openly communicate when things got a bit complicated. i loved seeing the dynamic of the band and wish we got to see more of it. i adored conway’s sister, lennon, and can’t wait to learn more about the other members of the band in the future!

if you like found family and rockstars this one is for you🧡

First off, I just wanted to give a quick thank you to Ann and her team for graciously sending me an arc of this book. My first Ann Einerson book, and I don’t think it will be my last either. Conway and Sienna have a really powerful relationship. It’s not often you read books with no third act break ups WITH a mmc who actually knows how to communicate well with their partners. If you know me, I absolutely cannot stand third act break ups so this is a breath of fresh air. I really enjoyed watching the slow progression from not really liking each other to friends to lovers. There’s something really understated about friends to lovers. I did enjoy the book, some spots popped up that I didn’t really jive with but that didn’t keep me from liking this book. Part of me wishes Sienna would have been less self loathing at points, she’s a very relatable character but at some parts I was like girl get it together. The spice was written so well, I loved the dominating side that presented itself during intimate moments from Conway. All in all for being my first rockstar romance, I enjoyed it and can’t wait to read more from Ann.

Oh Conway...

His cocky arrogance had me rolling my eyes more often than not at the beginning, but the way he fell and fell hard for Sienna was *chef's kiss.* Conway was always her best friend's older brother, and when he took off to tour with his band, the Sovereign Kings, Sienna didn't see much of them or her best friend after graduating high school. But a few years later, she runs into the whole crew, rekindling friendships.

Neither Sienna nor Conway had the best childhood, but I loved watching the transformation of their budding friendship into something more meaningful as they learned to open up, be vulnerable, and trust each other. Conway could be annoying, but he had his reasons, and he could also be the absolute sweetest. I also really liked the secondary characters and found family theme that wove its way throughout the story.

I really enjoyed this story and can't wait to read more from Einerson!

Book one in the Sovereign Kings series—this one follow Conway, the lead singer for the band, Sovereign Kings and Sienna, who is model but does not want to be a model forever.

I am a sucker for rockstar romances or popstar or rapper romances, I just love them all. So when I heard about this one I was HERE FOR IT! And let me just say that this one DID NOT DISAPPOINT. While I do wish there was a little more of the “rockstar” life thrown into the book (but really that’s mostly my preference), I still enjoyed every minute of this story!

Opposites attract, yes please, I feel like I don’t typically read that many of these kind of books. Especially when I gravitate towards enemies to lovers. But opposites attract, they are freakin good, aka this one is SO good! Makes me think of my own relationship because me and my person are COMPLETE opposites and we are attracted to each other.

I really like Ann’s writing stying and her way of bringing the story to life. I found myself in love with the dynamic of the band and let’s just say I can wait for the other band members to get their stories. Especially Griff, I have a feeling his story is going to be good and my favorite. I also felt really bad for him and wanted to snake Conway up side the head (when you read you’ll know) so really Griff deserves a story himself! And i will eat up every minute of that too!

And I am really excited to read more of Ann’s books, I have a feeling she’s going to become an auto-buy author for me!

“the spotlight burns bright but conway danvers burns brighter”

i loved this book so much, but honestly, I’m not surprised because I love ann einersons writing so much. this was my first time reading a rockstar romance, and I really enjoyed it. i loved siennas character, she was so strong and independent. i love how she wasn’t afraid to speak up and be herself, especially when it came to modeling. i also really liked conways character. i felt so bad for him and all the trauma he carried from his childhood. i can’t imagine growing up like that and forced to be alone in a dark closet. i also love how much he cared about sienna. i can’t imagine how difficult and complicated dating a rock star would be, especially with them touring. once conway realized how much it was affecting sienna he really did everything he could to make it better. i also really loved the side characters, leonna was my favorite she was so sweet and caring about everyone.

if you are looking for your next romance this book is for you. it was such a fun read and i really enjoyed it!

thank you ann for sending me an arc copy!

“I won’t survive if you wake up one day and decide that you don’t want me anymore. It doesn’t matter how strong I am, it’ll destroy me.”

Okay when I say I devoured this book. I mean I devoured it. I haven’t given a book 5 stars in a long time and this was no question a solid 5 star. The writing was so smooth and easy to read and you felt a connection with the characters as if you were a part of the book yourself. This was a spicy book but you could feel the intimacy between the Conway and Sienna. The sexual tension was just top notch.
Conway is officially my new boyfriend and you can’t change my mind. This was my first rock band romance and it won’t be my last. Sienna is such a kind hearted wholesome human that I wish she was my best friend. Sienna knew Conway from high school as it was her best friends brother. And she was the one to break him.
I wish I could start this book all over again.

Enter the world of the Sovereign Kings; the hottest rock band of the last decade. There's no one more coveted than lead singer Conway Danvers, and he has no intention of settling down... until he sees his Ace.

Sienna, the childhood best friend of his sister Lennon, reappears in his orbit on a fluke and may be the first woman who doesn't throw herself at his feet. Of course, it doesn't help that he propositioned her without recognising her, and she's not the kind of girl who wants one night.

In this best friend's brother, opposites attract, rock star romance (with all the 🔥) there's no third act break up, but there is a ton of angst! I was hooked right from the beginning and can't wait to continue the series with each band member of the Sovereign Kings.

Thank you to @authoranneinerson for providing me with an ARC. Conway and Sienna's love story was a fun take on these classic tropes, whilst also delving into serious topics such as child abuse and neglect, panic attacks, disability and the price of fame.

4.5/5 ⭐️ | Dual POV: Conway & Sienna

I’m a sucker for a rockstar romance and this was fantastic! The Spotlight was spicy, captivating, and emotional. I loved it so much!

Conway Danvers is the lead singer of the world-famous rock band the Sovereign Kings and is Sienna’s best friend’s brother. He is a playboy and completely off limits. However, when a friendship starts to develop between them, Conway will stop at nothing to make Sienna his! He was swoon worthy for sure! My heart broke for him when learning about the trauma he went through as a kid. Sienna was such a great character. She was sweet, sassy, and strong. I loved the way she was always there for her family whenever they needed her the most!

Conway and Sienna’s development as couple but also as individuals was amazing! They had wonderful banter and the chemistry between them was scorching hot. They were complete opposites in every way. Conway thrives in the spotlight where Sienna is more comfortable living in the shadows. However, they had this magnetic pull to each other that was just too strong to ignore. I loved the way they made their relationship work through open communication!

If you’re in the mood for a rockstar romance full of heart-warming moments and unforgettable characters, then I would highly recommend picking this one up!

This best friends brother, rockstar romance was so fun!

Conway Danvers is used to getting absolutely whatever and whoever he wants. That is under his sisters best friend rejects him so fast his head spins. Sienna isn’t impressed by his fame and fortune. She could care less about his rockstar persona, and her disinterest intrigues Conway. The more he pushes the more she gives it right back to him. Their banter back and forth turns into a friendship. And when Conway decides he wants more than a friendship with her, he has ti prove to her his playboy ways is behind him, and he’s fully committed to her. Can she open her heart enough ti trust him?

I really enjoyed the banter and how easily Sienna would call Conway out and put him in his place! This was one of my first rockstar romance reads, and I couldn’t put it down. Ace is the biggest cocky rockstar on the outside, but honestly a sweet cinnamon roll on the inside. I really loved him!

Tropes:
-Rockstar Romance
-Best Friends Brother
-Opposites Attract
-Reformed Playboy
-Found Family
-Cocky MMC/Sassy FMC

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, 🌶️🌶️

rockstar romance
Sisters bestfriend/bestfriends brother
Enemies to lovers
He falls first
No third act break up
Found family

This book follows Sienna & Conway! Conway and his band are the biggest in rock and roll! Conway this playboy, not looking to settle down and loves the spotlight! Sienna the very opposite.

I loved the first run in these two had with one another and seeing their relationship develop so much. Learning about one another’s traumas and hardships, finding that comfort in one another and being able to confide in one another. Conway fell hard for our girl Sienna and I loved it so much! The way he was willing to go all in, he valued her and the way they worked together! I love seeing that development in their characters separately and together! Sienna loves hard, the way she cares for her friends and family and is willing to do whatever it takes to make ends meet! She worked so hard to get to where she was and I loved how things worked out for her!

I really enjoyed the found family aspect on both sides of this book, not only was Siennas family the most welcoming but Conways friends/band was the same way! I loved how well they grew to communicate with one another and the no third act break up!!

thank you so much Ann for the eARC in exchange for an honest review!

I absolutely loved this book! I wasn’t sure about a Rock Star Romance but man, I am so glad I read it.
Conway is a high profile music artist who is in a band and he runs into his sister’s childhood best friend, Sienna, after several years without recognizing her. She could care less of his status and only sees the man standing in front of her.
After several chance meetings they have to decide if they are friends or not, or…
Everything takes off from there. To “watch” a normal person observe the high profile life of a celebrity and decide how or if she can be a part of it. Best friends brothers, found family, opposites attract.
Near perfection!

4.75🌟 Thank you so much to the Author for trusting me with an ARC of her book❤️ this book releases tomorrow !!! it was so good !!! it was my first rockstar romance and it did not disappoint. Conway and Sienna have known eachother since they were younger because Sienna is Conways little sisters bestfriend. Even though after running into eachother for the first time in years he didn’t even recognize her after his concert🤭 let me just say the character growth in both characters but mostly Conway was honestly my favorite!!! the way they got through every good and bad situation together helped out their relationship at the end. the banter was so fun to read and i just loved them and both of their families since they were such a big part of their lives!!

i hope you guys grab a copy of The Spotlight tomorrow ❤️

I wasn’t expecting to fall so hard for this book but I loved it so much! Conway and Sienna have my heart. I really enjoyed their story, and how perfect they are for each other! I specifically loved that the author gave Sienna her own story line, and not just following whatever Conway was doing. We love an independent woman🫶🏻

This is my first time reading Ann’s writing and I enjoyed it. It has been a hot minute since I read celebrity/rockstar romance so this was a fun one to pick up.

Any conflict was quickly addressed and I loved the tropes involved: best friend’s brother, celebrity/rockstar romance, found family.

There were certain things that took away from the reading experience for me - such as the horoscope blurbs (a personal preference since I’m not into it).

ARC review:
The spotlight follows Sienna and Conway. They don’t exactly get along at first. Sienna and Conway know each other from Sienna’s best friend which is also Conway’s sister. They are quite the opposites, and they don’t expect to fall in love at all, but opposites do attract!!

The spotlight was such a fun easy read! I really enjoyed Ann’s writing and the story flowed well. The rockstar aspect was interesting and I loved the secret relationship aspect. I also adored the side characters and the found family built between the characters.

I would definitely recommend this to anyone who’s intrigued by:
Best friends brother
Opposites attract
Secret relationship
Rockstar romance
Found family
No third act break up
Banter
Bad boy with a soft side

I loved Sienna and Conway’s story!! I hope you do too🤍
