Robert Muchamore was born in Islington, London in 1972. He still lives there, and worked as a private investigator up until 2005 and the critically-accepted release of Maximum Security.

The Hunger Games phenomenon is part of the huge YA / Children's book explosion that has grown, thanks to the British Rat pack of YA authors, Anthony Horowitz, Robert Muchamore, Mark A. Cooper and Charlie Higson. We owe much of the hunger games sucess to authors such as Robert.

Robert was inspired to create the CHERUB series by his nephew after he complained about the lack of anything for them to read. CHERUB: The Recruit was Robert's first book and won the Red House Children's Book Award 2005 in the Older Readers Category.

Following the last book in the CHERUB series, it was revealed that a trilogy would be released starting from August 2011 that will focus on a new set of CHERUB agents centred upon Ryan Sharma and also involve an sixteen year old Lauren Adams. The first book will be called People's Republic.

Check out the Hendersons Boys series. Henderson's Boys is a series of young adult spy novels written by English author Robert Muchamore. The series follows Charles Henderson, the creator of the fictitious CHERUB organisation.
CHERUB is currently being made into a TV series.

The description of this is very misleading. Will he risk their friendship for the sake of musical stardom? Pfft! This is seriously nothing like that. There was no "betraying his best friend" or whatever the blurb says. This was a really simple story about Noah who tries out for Rock War - a televised Camp Rock-like show - but it wasn't for the fame or the stardom or anything like that at all. Noah auditions because he wants to attend the music camp that they train their participants at prior to the live shows. All he wanted was the experience of it. I don't know why it says all that random stuff in the blurb...

Anyway! This was a really cute story. I enjoyed our protagonist a lot. He was funny and very realistic. Sadie was okay but Fergal was kind of over-exaggerated. The plot was entertaining. The writing was perfect - easily readable and a little simplistic but still descriptive and informative. A good introduction the series.

Two kids Noah and Sadie, one small school band, one crucial audition.

Noah's is natural on the guitar, and he would do anything to get through the Rock War audition. But he betrays his best friend and joins another band, Frosty Vader, he knows he's crossed the line.

This book is like a teaser to the whole Rock War series. It's ok for its size but its not action packed like all the other books that Robert Muchamore has created and I am guessing that is the same case with the Rock War series.

I didn´t read the series yet, but I have to admit Robert Muchamore is one of my most favourite authors of all times. His Cherub series is something you have to at least try. This short novel wasn´t anything spectacular, on the other hand it was nice introduction into a new series of four. And I especially liked that his characters are as human as possible...with their mistakes, imperfections and bad decisions.

In all honesty, this s 3.5 stars book for me.
I absolutely adored the Cherub novels but I have to admit, this novella wasn't one of Robert Muchamores best for me. However I'll definitely read the Rock War novels.

Good, but not the same standard as the other 'Rock War' books...

I don't have anything else to say about this book apart from the fact that is is still with a read of you enjoy other books by the same author.

Decent new story but a there was a few mistakes in the writing, maybe it was rushed and not proof read? Or maybe I have a draft copy. Not sure if I want to continue the series yet but will continue listening to the Cherub audiobooks and read the first of the Robin Hood series.

A companion novella to "Rock war" by Robert Muchamore and part of the "quick reads" series of publications.
Known for the 'Cherub' and 'Henderson Boys' series about espionage, the subject changes to the music industry in "Rock war". However both new books have plenty of action to keep you reading so the style is not so different from his previous books.
Noah, the main character, is a young amputee who is confined to a wheelchair. His best friend Sadie is a tomboy, who is always ready to defend him. Noah and Sadie generally steer clear of the cool kids but he'd give anything to get through to the Rock War audition. Noah's a good guitarist and when he is given the opportunity to join a group, he jumps at the chance. It is not because he expects to win and reach stardom, it is because he wants to attend the music camp where they will be trained before they do any of the live shows.
Our protagonist, Noah, is funny and realistic, Sadie is likeable but the villain of the piece, Fergal, is a bit of a bad-guy/bully caricature and becomes even more so in the climax to the story.
It is an entertaining story with a plot that keeps the reader involved and a perfect introduction to the longer ‘Rock War’.

I wasn't expecting much from this it was a book my brother gave to me to read cause his new favourite thing is to swap books to read. I liked this story although I felt like the description for this book was a bit misleading. I enjoyed the story, the protagonist was very likeable and realistic and made the book more enjoyable and it was a good introduction into the series.
