The author does a very good job of describing one of the worst blizzards to strike the Northeast and New England. This book goes a little picture happy as there are over 300 illustrations. I would have liked more eyewitness accounts included, but the book was still informative and interesting. Imagine removing 4 feet of snow from roads with nothing but shovels and horse carts! For anyone who enjoys reading about weather and snow in particular, this is a book you should pick up.

Fascinating! Loved the pictures and headlines from the time. 2013-2014 has been a snowy, cold and hard winter, so this was neat to compare modern times versus olden times.
