The Imprint was such an easy, yet profound read. The author’s conversational style of writing is perfect in conveying (what I would otherwise consider) complex ideas on how important our ancestors are in shaping our lives. Real-life examples of relatable people and their stories intersect with the results of scientific studies that show how even memories are capable of being passed down in our DNA. The beauty of this book’s message, however, comes through when you realize that the information presented by the author is not meant to reinforce the potential blame game in your mind, but to really help you take a good look at yourself, take stock of what is and isn’t “yours,” and then take the reins of your future path. This book doesn’t just spell out the “why,” but also gives you the “how” with simple exercises that’ll help you dig deeper into who you really are.
