Genuinely, do not bother reading this book. The lead has potential as a character, but is in an awful plot and forced “romance”. The main love interest is completely irredeemable and just a horrible person. The ending is frustrating and the opening to the next is even worse. An absolute waste of time and energy.
I REALLY ENJOYED THIS BOOK! Cleo's charter was strong but vulnerable. At times my heart was breaking for her. Between her father and Coda and the whole pack all the poor girl got done doing was trying to prove herself to everyone. And boy, did she ever. She took alot of abuse and pain but never gave up. When the Lycan's show up, their Alpha Hakota is mysterious and he has a secret that involves Cleo. Everyone expects alot from poor Cleo and she just continues to grow stronger and shows everyone she worthy of them but, are they worthy of her? This kept me guessing about certain things but it never came to fruition. The ending was so intense it was both heartbreaking and heartwarming. It was like an earthquake and the after shocks just kept on coming. I read this book on Galatea and I feel like I'm missing some of the book. I can't wait to find out what happens next. I recommend this book.
Not totally sure how to rate this one - loved Cleo, loved the Lycan pack... just not Hakota. I think I just keep waiting and hoping he'll redeem himself only to be very, very disappointed.
I don’t usually like these kinda of books cause they are usually overly smutty and under developed but this one was entertaining enough and had minimum smutty if any at all (it’s been a while since I read it) obviously not amazing but good for what it is. If you like these raunchy werewolf books I’d recommend.
Cleo seems to put hakota in his place a lot which was refreshing because I feel a lot of werewolf romances the MC is a pushover (Cleo is hotheaded to a fault) obviously it’s toxic but imo it knows its toxic.
The other books in the series weren’t as good, the second book was fine, the third and after focused on side characters plot lines, and the fifth book felt like a fan fiction spoof. Not a romance or a political werewolf book just about two dudes fighting and then sleeping together. I’d recommend the first and second book, I didn’t finish the third but the parts I read were entertaining enough. The fourth was about infidelity and age gaps.
This could have been a really good book, but everything was too surface level. The physical appearance of characters was lacking so i didn’t really get a clear picture, emotions between Cleo and Hakota were so shallow, the chemistry so basic and not well described, it made it hard to connect them like I wanted. The storyline itself was interesting and with more detail could have made for a really great story. I was intrigued enough to keep reading and I liked Cleo’s strength, but I hope the next book gives more and goes deeper.
Umm yes! So good and entertaining! I would read book two now but its not out on kindle yet.
Spoiler alert…. Info to remind myself…. Girl is half wolf half lycan, sent to be with lycan aloha with plans to kill him but she falls in love. In the end, he thinks she betrayed him and takes her claiming bite mark back by ripping out her throat and leaving her to die. Before that, she challenged her dad to aloha and won so she will be her old packs alpha next book)
Nice read. Liked the characters. Kota is definitely infuriating and Chloe was definitely not taking any of his nonsense. Loved their development and wished they had more books. Love the side characters as well.
It is alright, it is annoying though, as it is not one of those stories you love, I only went onto the second book to find out what happens next, as the story is weak, but you still want to find out what happened next.
