Whether I would end up liking Perfect Outsider really depended on two points, whether it had a good standalone mystery, and/or if it had a satisfactory conclusion to the series as a whole. And uhh... It really kinda fails on both fronts 💀 For most of the book, I was like ambivalent on the mystery, but I at least had some faith that the solution would be good, but it's just a really lazy solution that I just didn't enjoy one bit. I still don't get what the motivations behind it were, and how Mori just either ignores or handwaves them is really disappointing. As for the conclusion to the series itself, it's like okay. It has like some interesting elements, but after ten books, idk, I expected more.
