The first 100 pages of the book were quite interesting. The author shares her thoughts on intimacy and what it really means, which I found engaging. However, after that, the book takes a very technical turn, focusing mainly on how intimacy is created in movies. It doesn’t happen often, but in this case, I felt a bit misled — the beginning doesn’t make it clear that the book will shift so strongly into a technical, film-industry focus. Unfortunately, that’s where I stopped reading.
