Du'a (supplication) is the essence of worship. It is the weapon of the believer. With it we can never fail; without it we can never succeed. It is a whispering conversation with Allah, the most uplifting, liberating, empowering, and transforming conversation one can ever have. This book contains more than 200 du'as from the Qur'an and Hadith in Arabic for daily reading, along with their translation in English. This selection was originally compiled by Mawlana Ashraf Ali Thanawi under the title Munajaat-e-Maqbul. Like his Bihishti Zewar (Heavenly Ornaments), it has been very popular in the countries of the Indian subcontinent, where it has become a household name. This edition aims at making it accessible to the English-speaking world.
Incredible day to day prayers/Duas to schedule into all 7 days of the week. The translation and transliteration, along with the Arabic text, provide a clear method of reading at whichever level the person is comfortable. I thoroughly enjoy understanding the religious and historical significance of the prayers/Duas that are included in this spectacular compilation. It never ceases to amaze me as to just how rich, vibrant, and absolutely compelling it can be to read the glorious words used in reaching out to our Lord.
“O Allah, put Light in my heart, Light in my sight, Light in my hearing, Light to my right, Light to my left, Light behind me, and Light in front of me. O Allah, bestow upon me Light. O Allah, put Light in my muscles, Light in my flesh, Light in my blood, Light in my hair, Light in my skin, Light in my tongue, and Light in my soul. Make my Light great and make me all Light. And put Light above me and Light below me. O Allah, give me Light.”

Munajat e Maqbool is a book by Maulana Ashraf Ali Thanvi rehmatUllah alaihi with Quranic & Masnoon duas compiled in a weekly plan. Saturday has all Quranic duas including the 40 Rabbana - Duas starting with Rabbana mostly duas by various Prophets given in the Quran. The rest of the days have Masnoon Duas (by RasoolAllah salAllahu alihi wasallam) & as muslims know there is not a single need, worry or hope that has not been addressed in dua by our Prophet in his duas to Allah Almighty. This book is one such compilation which caters to every need in our life wether it be religious or worldly, marital or social, education or work, happiness or despair, daily routine or harsh life experiences.
A collection of prophetic prayers-- truly a treasure. The format (with the Arabic and its transliteration on the right, and the translation on the opposite page) can be appreciated by both novice and advanced readers. I love that it's divided by the days of the week, it gives me a chance to go through all the supplications (around 200!) over a week (or at whatever pace you choose). As for the supplications themselves, they are so succinct and encompassing that one can only marvel at the wisdom of the Prophet's speech. Definitely a daily life-long read.
The most reflective, provocative, and comprehensive list of supplications as asked and/or narrated by the sahabah, the Messenger himself, and the Qur'an. Organized by day of the week. Committing to reading these duaa in your native language on a daily basis would prove to be absolutely life-altering.
Jzk to the author. I was giving this book as a gift and it is my one of my most cherished possessions. The duas calm the anxious heart. They give the weak heart strength. Bring joy to the sad heart. There is a Dua for Every situation one finds himself in.
Beautifully worded, these du’as speak to your soul. All encompassing, a befitting du’a can always be found in here. Well referenced and I like the context given for du’as. Broken down into daily sections makes it a must on every bookshelf and easily accessible for everyday supplications.
